Hey, Atchafalaya! I've seen you around, but I can't recall you being on the back porch. Do make yourself at home.
Thanks! I remember you from a long long time ago. I took a break from the forum for a while. Now, I just bounce all over the place. lol

I'm just the opposite. I took a break too... Now that I'm back, I only come to the Back Porch... with no plans to go anywhere else.

days later, i finally look inside the purloined purse to determine who to send it back to, along with the "borrowed" money.

it belonged to a woman in san jose, who lived maybe 1/2 mile from us.
It's a great story hun, and not boring at all!! Almost like someone was lookin out for ya huh!

Warning, self absorbed moaning follows

I wonder sometimes who i pi$$ed off in a former life. Stricken with a painfully degenerative genetic blood disease for which there is no cure, two broken arms, vengeful and nasty ex wife, 6 days untill i am once again unemployed, possibly loose my apartment, and the lovely mixture of depression and insomnia. At least i have my vapes and my doggie.
Seriously, i hate to bring things down, but you guys are really the only ones i can unload on. It just seems to get harder, and i keep getting kicked while im down, time maybe to double up on the happy pills. Im gonna go to bed now.

Self indulgent moaning complete, we now return you to your regular moaning.

Last stinkie 10/15/2013
((((((((((((Russ))))))))))))) I'm so sorry you have to deal with all that sweetie!! Wish there was something we could really do to help, but you're definitely in many of our prayers, and we're always here for you to unload on when you need to. I imagine you've applied for SSDI, but if not, I definitely would as others said!

Beach pics from Esperance
Those pics are sooooo gorgeous!!!

My water pipes froze late last night. According to the weatherman my water will start flowing again around 2 PM tomorrow.
oh dang darlin, hope it's back on soon and no bustin of the pipes!!

ahh...the relief! The joy! Didn't have to have my hand on the counter, going down...or both hands between my legs on the seat coming back up...I'm in heaven:D
Jup......happiness is a terlit you can easily get on and off of. So glad you got that.

Hope I can get myself straight this week, but if not, next week. Gotta get to where I'm not goin to bed at noon lol But I'm super excited about being able to get together!!

sitting here eyeing the 27" monitor that just showed up. wondering when i'll get around to unboxing it.

also the 24" monitor that i apparently also bought, thanks to my remaining quick-twitch muscle in my mouse finger. sheesh.

i did manage to unbox and fridge the 3 liters of nic from the MFS sale.

pretty sure i had enough nic to last 2 lifetimes, but that sale was too good to pass up.

Since we've got new folks coming here, thought I'd put this back up. Not as good as Susan's posts, but it'll do.

We're planning a porch get together. We still have room for a few more. The house rent per person for the week is 185.00 or 200.00, somewhere in there.

here's the planning thread.......
Porcher Odyssey Pre-Planning Discussion Phase II

and here is the house we've rented.
The Lakehouse 6 Bedrooms/6 Baths Pool,Hot... - HomeAway Bradenton

6 bdrm 6 bath, game room etc, and at least 3,000 square feet just in the outside screen in pool area! forget the sq. ft of the house itself, and didn't look it up, but y'all can

It is 75 in my house. It is 44 outside. It is going to get down to 36 tonight.
Yeah.... keep dreaming about Florida never being cold while I go make a cup of hot chocolate.
I once visited the family in California while I was living in Denver. At the airport, it was so cold at night I could see ice crystals forming in front of me. The following day, my sister took me to the pier at Redondo Beach (I think it was Redondo) and it was in the lower 40s. I cried uncle and headed back to the car. There's only been a few times I felt colder.

Ugh! Nurse Janet here. Poor Miles has double ear infections, foot/hand/mouth virus, a cold, and possibly a molar coming in. His fever was 102.4. We had him all day Monday. Poor little man looked so pathetic. Dropped him off, came home with plans to pick him up this morning so our son and DIL could go to work. But at 12:30 a.m. I woke up to the bed shaking like crazy. It was Mike having chills from a fever. Went for the elec thermometer - battery was dead. Good thing I had a back up with a non-mercury manual one that worked. 102 degrees. Got him settled and went down to sleep on the couch. I think he's got narcolepsy. Up until 7:00 tonight I don't think he was awake 15 minutes all day! He was only awake enough for me to bring him juice. He even sat up thinking it would help and 3 minutes later he was snoring. Miles slept late then napped for 4 hours today and still went to bed at 7:30 so I guess they both had whatever this thing is. I am NOT going to get it!

Think I'm headed to bed now and will go back and catch up on the thread tomorrow. Matt, hope you have a safe trip in the morning. The sooner you get there the sooner you can go back to FL.

Ugh is right! Poor babies, little Miles is getting hammered for sure! It's good that they are able to sleep it off, tho. Chicken soup time, Chef Janet!

Jup.......that reminds me, made a big pot of that a couple days ago. Wish I could send y'all some. Will probably have some for supper after bit. Or breakfast actually. o_O:rolleyes: Whichever it is, never seems to matter much....I usually only eat once a day
