Any way thats whats been going on with me. Nothing too exciting just having to make up my mind, again and you all know what that is like. Definately a problem. Think I will talk to my old doc and he will help, he still works in research. So I will contact him.

Patrick, oh how we wish we could lift your 'weight'!

You're an amazing person and such a model for those of us that gripe at our own less dire situations. So you have my loving understanding encouragement to unload any time you feel the urge.

Hopefully your ol' doc appreciates your circumstances and will be a guiding light!

How about some dancing with that tune?

Oh my gawd, dat make my day!

I'm sorry if I bummed anyone out yesterday. I'm trying to keep my mind off of it today with a little more chemical Help. I don't take the amount I'm prescribed so maybe I should, I take about half. I emailed my old doc and see what he has to say about it. It's a lot on my mind like 90% of the time and like my Gdaughter said I have to quit doing that. I have done a lot of things in my life and had a good one. Really lucky I guess and we all have to go sometime right?
Also no I meant calf muscles, I have about 1/2 of my calves left and with these new ones being so much tighter then my old ones it puts more strain on them. I have lost 30 lbs since I had the old ones made about 3 years ago and that is the reason they have gotten so loose. Once I get used to them being tight again I'll be getting around better then I do now It'll take a couple of weeks but it will be worth it in the end. The way they make them your weight is actually put all over the upper side of the sockets very little weight actually gets to the ends of your stumps or you wouldn't be able to walk because the bones down there where they cut them off are real sensitive. So anyway your weight is supported by the sockets holding you by the upper part of the socket. I won't have to wear so many socks to make them fit. I'm up to aboout 10 plies now with theses I will be back to 1 much better. Again sorry for putting anyone feeling sorry for me, I'm not looking for that just got really depressed about the whole thing. I'm going to try to get more info. Part of the problem is I don't trust most doctors and I know my cardiologist won't say anything against my surgeon but something happened during the surgery that has always made me wonder if he tried to hurry it. I am Hep C positive and he stuck himself with a needle during the surgery so I don't know what state of mind he was in whether he tried to hurry it up or what. He couldn't operate for almost a month because of it. It's just always in the back of my mind.
I'm sorry you are going through this Legs. You are in my prayers. Do try to reach your old doctor. You seem to trust him the most. But please go with the best care you can get.

Today has been a bit of a cold and dreary day. I decided to go with some comfort food for dinner. I took some meat out of the freezer and fixed up a pot of chilli and my mom's secret recipe cornbread. I know some will say, "picture or it didn't happen". So here ya go.

So back in the days of sailing ships they needed to find a way to keep cannon balls from rolling around the decks, so they came up with a metal plate with divots in it, which would hold the bottom layer of cannon balls, with more stacked on top. For some reason lost to antiquity this plate was called a "monkey".
Now they could not make this plate out of iron or steel, because in the salt spray the cannon balls would rust into place and be stuck. Therefore the plate was usually made of brass.
Unfortunately, when a ship would sail into northern waters, the brass would shrink in the cold temperatures. This would cause the cannon balls to fall off the plate.

I just took the dog out to potty and it is definitely cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey.

Hit 53 in Deerfield Beach last night. You'd of thought it was 10 below listening to all the whining on the local news. Doree and I postponed going back to Hampton till next week cause it's supposed to be really crappy this weekend and we see no reason to suffer. ;)
Sounds like you are using your knoggen for a change. Actually glad to hear you are not going to be traveling with the bad weather.

Well, folks, I am the proud nana of grandbaby #4...

We welcomed Maria Catherine into this world last night weighing 7lb.10oz...19". She is so absolutely beautiful!!!

We're had to come home for a bit, but will be on our way back in a few minutes but had to come in and share our good news.
Rest of the family came in town and we'll all be staying at our son's house! There's plenty of room there so our new Mama and Daddy will have their privacy!
Mama Leoni (me) and my daughter will be cooking for the next week! We're all so excited and so very grateful!
Congratulations on the new grandbaby. Always a time for celebration.

Well Hello everyone. Sorry I have been going through some pretty heavy depression. I am scared of what is going on with my heart. What I have is calcification of the whole heart not just the valves. It's pretty rare like 1-2%. They don't know what causes it and the docs here really don't have an answer. The Cleveland Clinic which is rated #1 in the US could possibly fix it better then it is but it is expensive. They accept Medicare but only as a partial payment. It's $565 just to get a second opinion based on previous echos and operative reports. The UofW will accept Medicare is closer and is ranked #27 in the nation for cardiac problems. I'm not ready to give up, my mind is still good and sharp, except when it comes to buying vape stuff. I'm thinking of sending my records to the UW and see what they think. Here they are just watching and waiting for the inevitable. I still have severe aortic insufficiency and a worse leak then I had before surgery. What needs to happen is my aortic valve needs to be redone, my aortic root replaced and my mitral valve replaced. No one here is really qualified to do it and it is high risk like a <50/50 chance of survival. So I am weighing my options.
On the good side I get my new legs next Thursday so have to learn to walk all over again. Tried my test sockets yesterday and fit was good but being so much tighter is what I will have to get used too. It makes my calf muscles work more and tires them out pretty fast. These are going to be the best color yet plus my suction liners the new ones are black so they will look a lot better. Pics to follow.
I am supposed to see the specialist about treatment for Hep C next Friday but not sure how that is going to work. I don't absorb meds very well. Like they did a UA on me and my wife and even though we had the same gastric surgery she also takes the same pain pills I do about half as many and her levels were twice as high as mine, weird huh? Plus if anything is going to happen with my heart not sure if I should start it. I don't have any symptoms yet and my liver functions are still all normal so will have to wait and see.
Any way thats whats been going on with me. Nothing too exciting just having to make up my mind, again and you all know what that is like. Definately a problem. Think I will talk to my old doc and he will help, he still works in research. So I will contact him.
I am sorry to hear about your ol' ticker. I will continue to keep you on my prayer list.

Ok, coffee pots are better.
I have to agree. Where would we be without our coffee? Instant coffee is like a kiss through the screen door. The idea is nice, but something is missing and it taste like dust.

I don't take the amount I'm prescribed so maybe I should, I take about half.
I mentioned once about not taking pain meds like I was prescribed to my Nurse. She got a stern look on her face and told me that if the Dr wanted me to take half the amount he would have only prescribed half the strength. The Doctor just might know what is best when it comes to your meds, so you might want to listen. I will get off my soapbox now.

Ok you did ask us to share something from our past. So how about some things that happened when I was a dancer at a male burlesque house .... oh wait I can't dance that must have been a fever induced hallucination from early this week. Skip that story.

For those with Divers. I got my submarine tanks from Mom & Pop Vapor shop today. They do indeed work well with divers and having a side fill option the hourglass shape of the Diver is no longer a problem when refilling the tank. At less than $15 a pop it is a far better solution than the tanks made specifically for the diver which are about $50.

I agree. Depression, like pain, acts on itself. The longer you let it go on the worse it gets, & it spreads. Pain resonde to pain with more pain. Depression responds with more depression. Take your meds!
