I FIXED MY LAPTOP!!!!
I completely forgot that I had flipped the little toggle thingie on the bottom that disengages the battery inside before I left for my sister's last week. I also unplugged it, but disengaged the battery because it was going to be sitting unused for 4 days unplugged & I didn't want the battery draining too low. I flipped it, looked at the screen & had my battery back!
Whoop!
Top-notch problem solving. I am sure that the knowledge that nothing else got popped helped.

I learned a few new things today. Had no idea some laptops had a switch to disengage the battery, that's kewl! I looked on this one, it doesn't have it. Good thing no one was in the hangout when I read that, I'd have made em do a somersault when I snatch it up and flipped it over to check! hehehe

It.s a little orange slide lock inside an oval hole in the bottom. You have to stick a small screwdriver, or pen, or something pointy like that in a little hole in the slide & move it to engage or disengage the battery.

kewl. Newp, all I gots is some screws and the "feet" but if/when I'm ever able to get another, that'll be something to look for.

Saved the meet up with atchya this afternoon by the skin of my teeth. Son was at his in-laws, had to be at work at 8. Called him at 10 til, he'd just left their house, but since he'd gotten up late, he'd forgotten he was supposed to come here so I could take him to work. He grabbed me, and got to work at 7:59

He went into work, locked the door......I jumped into the driver's seat...... no keys. I'd told him to be sure to get his work keys......go knockin on the restaurant door, he opens it....... I said I need car keys.........he says......I saw you had your keys in your hand. Jup....to lock the house door......I don't have a key to y'alls cars silly boy  hehehe

You two have a great meet up.
If it does not go well you can blame it on me ;)

Update, my ham string is healing nicely with most of my mobility back. Am dealing with swelling and bruising on my left foot which is aggravating at da least.

Lil' side story, one of my sons-in-law recommended a cleaning/health care lady to assist Patty and I. Well, what a lil' dynamo dis lil' older black lady is! Can hardly believe what she did for our kitchen...

We were chatting about her background and Joyce said, "All my life, I just wanted to be middle class. But most of my life I wasn't even poor... just po'!" She's a true keeper! IOW, blessings, count 'em...
Glad things are looking up. You heal fast. Just don't push it.

Joyce sounds maaavulus!
YOU MUST WATCH THIS

I went to look, to make sure I already had it saved. Surprise, surprise. That copy had been taken down for copyright infringement, or something like that. So, I snatched your link instead. Thank you!
... nope my 1st printer was and Epson Dot Matrix Printer.
Oooh, I remember those! Paper always getting stuck in the tracks.

I've been on AugMentin since last Thursday ... it ain't kickin' .... w/ respect to whatever bug I've got. Got a call from Dr's today ... results from throat swap says I don't have strep. I knew that ... I've had step before and what I have now aint' strep. Crikes ... I though I was on the mend for sure today ... then tonight just reading porch posts I'm breaking out into a sweat ... hoping the fever ain't coming back.
Sounds like you two need to get back to the doctor.
I thought so too, but if I closed my eyes and just listened I liked it much better. He has such a powerful voice and his rendition was very interesting. The guy who sent me the video this morning said he didn't like the guys other stuff, but enjoyed this one. I'd never heard of him.
I mainly know Disturbed from 'Down With the Sickness', which I've always liked. Don't know about their other stuff.

But, I don't tend to listen to the words to songs much. I have too much trouble hearing/understanding what most songs are saying! I mostly just like the sound and feeling of it, melody, beat, voice, etc.

And, I just LOVE his voice!
I know the lyrics....I prefer to pull myself up out of depression instead of drowning myself in it....sorry folks....that's just me and my choice of how I deal with such a state of mind........I've been on that fast downward spiral.......don't want to ever go there again
But, I don't find it depressing. To me, it's more of a social commentary. Plus, it happens to sound amazing.

Now, if I was already depressed or in one of my sad phases, then I would find it depressing. But, at that point, everything is depressing or sad. Watching the news will make me cry.

Yay!!! Let me dance with you.:banana::banana::banana::banana:
strangely, i take comfort in a handful of "dark" songs

Nice! But, he's too pretty to have such a rough voice.

calling @Lannie and @Fuzzy Thunderbear where are y'all?? You've been missed??? Hope all is well

You MISSED ME? LOL!

Lannie was on here last night. Not sure which thread though.

Yeah, I'm on here every day, but I have so many "other" things that need doin' that I sometimes fall behind on these big threads, and then I struggle to catch up... so I end up reading until I run out of time, and then I have to scoot and go do something farmy and don't have time to actually post. Also, I get distracted easily (SQUIRREL! :w00t: ) so sometimes I see a subject line on a short thread and I go sniff that one and forget the big ones until I'm waaaaay behind!

Like right now, I think the last page I had caught up to here was 70-something, and now it's already on page 99? Yeah, no way am I gonna get caught up now. So I just jumped here to the end, and said absolutely nothing. Well, except that now you know I'm alive! LOL! :D

I usually listen to my old Hanson and Beatles albums when I get really depressed.

Music can bring you up...or bring you down. It all depends on what you listen to...;)

yeah but as others said, try to do stuff that'll bring ya out of it, even if you don't wanna. Listen to some boogie woogie, watch funny movies, do something that can make you laugh, even a little, even if you don't wanna. I found out it that after awhile it was difficult to be as depressed when I was laughing a lot! It sounds weird, but at first it sorta irritated me when I'd laugh, cuz it didn't feel right, but once I accepted that it was ok, and began to do it more, I felt much better.

Good suggestions, but for people suffering from severe or with clinical depression....it's not enough. And to to try and pull one's self up by the bootstraps and tough it out won't always work for them. A good doctor and the right meds are needed to get back on track.

I honestly think my validly tested IQ would be about 80 without antidepressants. That is about a 50-point drop!

Well, "most" S&G tunes are... maybe not depressing, maybe "sobering" would be a better word. They carry a message even tho you sometimes have to read between the lines. Now this rendition used really dark images which might have made it depressing to some. Personally I didn't really care for the video. But he certainly could/did belt out that song. And the lyrics still work today.
IMO, of course.

I never trusted doctors enough to go to them for help. They've devasted my health (except for recently). So, I just tried to improve my attitude over the years. Some things helped. Some didn't.

Then, I finished going through menopause. The cloud lifted. I do still get down. But, not like I used to. Until then, sadness and depression were my closest companions. So, chemistry really does matter!

I can't stress "GOOD" doctors enough. I've had my share of catastrophes with some.....but I also know what I need and when I need it.....so, I've learned to scream bloody murder when I feel myself speeding downhill........;) I'm probably much like Mary, in that I should be on meds always, but I try and go as long as I can without....
