Anyone wanting to see a live rescue of a home invasion suspect who led Houston police on a loooong chase on 3 tires, ending in another county at the dead end at the Brazoria River, dove into the river, swam downstream for a couple of hundred yards, ran out of strength, & now can't haul himself back up the bank & is having to be rescued. Go to KPRC Houston & look for the Skyeye feed. They are streaming it. The chase was more of a follow & watch him try to control that big ol' truck riding on a rear rim.

Only problem with that is some dogs get more excited and nippy, so it depends on the pup.

Yepper, normally, only with pups. Later on, ya got a major patience challenge if not addressed early on!!

That's what I did with Geordi. Hold the bottom jaw and you control the teeth. Not hard to hurt, just firm.

Notice how the folks in the background pay no attention to them as if they are just normal everyday visits.

I luv flamingos! I ever so much miss my local fascination wid 'em in my youth! I spend most of my time at Busch Gardens or Sea World round da F'goes ponds.

Actually, I have yet to see one wid a tutu in da wild...

... It's like he's trying to play but is getting excited & gets way too rough about it.

How the heck do you turn these things upright?

Only problem with that is some dogs get more excited and nippy, so it depends on the pup.
That's what I did with Geordi. Hold the bottom jaw and you control the teeth. Not hard to hurt, just firm. I also told him "no bite" firmly but calmly. With a shirt with sleeves also push my arm into his mouth. Again, not hard, just firm. Kinda makes them stop and think about gagging. Both have worked for my pups. Oh, and then happily present something they are allowed to chew on!

We use 'no bite' also, but I think in addition to mimicking a yelp, I'll incorporate this method also. She is still young enough to train as I'm constantly teaching her new things. She's smart; a bit stubborn; but smart!
