Well I got a call from that doc in S Dakota and he told me he would do the revision in a second. I have to get the ok from the heart doc though. He said it is a fairly simple procedure, when they did the operation I had on my stomach they remove 2/3 of your stomach and shorten the intestine leaving the part they cut out in there. He said he would just detach the intestine from my stomach and reattach the old portion and then reattach the other potion to that leaving me with more intestine to absorb the food. He said the whole thing takes just a few minutes once your under and cut open. He doesn't get the docs here at all. He wants me to call the UW and see if they would do it first because it is 850 miles to where he is at. As far as my heart I'm not going to jump to any conclusions because that was just a radiologist I've had moderate calcification of the Mitral since I had the first surgery and it could very well be that it is still working sufficiently. The problem with all these valves is if they are not working properly they make your heart work harder causing your heart to enlarge. It wouldn't be that bad to go to the doc in S Dak just jump on I 90 here and it takes you right to Rapid City. The problem would be if I ever had any complications. It wure would be nice to put some weight on these old bones though. I am supposed to push the protein supplements and eat 5 small meals a day.

UW? Is that University of Washington hospital? That would be great if they could reverse some of the bariatric surgery so you could absorb more protein and other nutrients! Have you heard back about the echo yet?

Dadgummit, man... I hate to hear that you're having so much trouble, but I'm very happy to hear that they should be able to reverse the earlier surgery and get you some more intestine inline. That should definitely help with nutrient absorption... I've learned way more about the digestive system in the past coupla years that I ever thought I'd need to know... it'd be real nice if they could get that all fixed up! Yay! I'm so glad you recognized that there was a problem & where it was possibly coming from! Dr put me on one once that made me hysterically happy within 3 days of starting it. Some kind of mood elevator that had me giggling at everything! I stopped taking them the day that started!
