Meet Me in St Louie Louie
Armed Forces Day (today) It is a day to pay tribute to men and women who serve the United States' Armed Forces .. although I am, of course, long gone from my Military time in service, I would encourage all the other Vets to note their Service, just as a reminder that we have a core group of us here in our small slice of Cyberville ..

Sergeant E-5, Combat Medic, 91 Bravo, 4th Infantry .. deployed Camp Holloway, Pleiku Province, Central Highlands, South Vietnam

Although you all know I am an avid dog lover, I also live in the real world and agree, the dog should be put down. It is a very sad reality, but true none the less.

I hesitated to step there, and it's, of course, just my personal opinion and belief .. I am glad I did not offend you as I know your love and commitment to the canines ..

I just read Temple Grandin's book on animal behavior, and, although she acknowledges genetics, a puppy must be exposed to a wide range of people, including little kids. It is mostly a part of training. Too bad the dog must be put down because of bad training.

The dog that bit my daughter was returned to the breeder, who had retained breeding rights . She was hugging him, and he did what he would have done to an obnoxious puppy, except she did not have protective fur.

We got some level of rain everyday for two weeks - cloudy today, but no rain expected. Tomorrow the sun will start coming out...
Same here but, this is the hardest it's rained. Done now i think, looks to be clearing. At least it's a lot brighter out. :)

Mrnin' everyone!

How'm I doing?

This morning I got up and went to the bathroom as usual...sat down and realized that my walker was still beside the bed! Oops! Passed right by it!:D
Think I'm about ready to graduate to the cane! But I'll confirm with the PT first on Mon.

I'm so tickled!!!!:rickroll:

I would put the dog down as well .. I don't think once something like this happens, there can be any guarantee, no matter the situation, that an animal will not do it again ..

Agreed, Cathy!

Totally agree!

I'll reserve my comments...

Reserve expired: As much as I love animals, I will not tolerate 'unwarranted' aggression.

Another note, my dear Spock, who passed away in Dec 2014, was attacked at 6 months of age by another dog. He lived his life with the motto "I will get you before you can get me" . It was fear aggression, and not something that can be untrained or unconditioned, only managed. Through all the titles we earned, it was an extreme challenge. I never let him be around little children for fear of what might happen. My son had strict instructions that if anything ever happened to me, Spock was to be euthanized. I would not trust another person to be able to build the bond of trust he had in me. Fortunately, it did not come to that. As much as I miss Spock, I don't miss that. It is so nice to walk around with social butterflys that love everyone and every thing.

Interesting, clnire. Same thing happened to my lil teeny Leo. Mastiff drew blood as a pup. For a long time if another dog came near him he'd yelp and run like he was bitten. However... he sure changed. He's totally dominant. Over everything! (except us. ;) )
Probably since they've been bred (Coton De Tulear) only to be companions. But when he's at "doggy day care". He's the boss. Over danes, boxers, and essentially anything that's up to the size of a truck. :) Haven't tried him with something bigger than a truck but my money's on him. ;)

Let me also add, although our Military men and women deserve all respect and acknowledgement so do their spouses and children who stay behind on the home front. It is a tough job keeping things together at home so our service members can do what they need to do and often an ignored one.

WhooHoo! You go girl!!! Fryin' pan's got nothin' on you.
The Wheel Turns Perpetually ..
It does. I am certain, if left up to my son, the dog will be put down.
Our Sashi was bit by another dog when she was a pup
Our Captain, a pug, was bitten in the face by a Jack Russell terrier as a pup. It happened at a dog park where dogs ran leash-less, but no one claimed the dog. Captain never had any issues and remained a waggy tailed little LUV BUG. I do think breed has something to do with it.

All is well, so far. Mama got a nap this morning for a couple of hours. She is healing from a broken foot, which she has had to stand on constantly for two days now holding her toddler, she's exhausted and her emotions are at the surface. She thanks you all for prayers and well wishes. Kira is, of course, very Mama clingy right now. Her face has several superficial scratches and one deep puncture wound they did not stitch, she has a large y-shaped sutured area to the right corner of her lip but the wound edges are well-approximated and the surgeon did a very good job. There is another sutured vertical line and it looks like baby pulled the stitch, but mama takes her to her doc Monday. A small piece of her right eyelid is missing, but the surgeon would not touch it. He says she needs to see an eye doctor for that. All-in-all, she is one lucky little girl.

We had a Happy Birthday dinner for mama at Applebee's after big sis's recital. Jalina was a beautiful ballerina and performed very well. Mama got a new mac book...which she was not expecting, and cried a lot. She's reliving her memories as she processes through what happened and how, but her heart is filled with gratitude. Peace.
