...
It's an incredible relief to have somebody be in charge when the world is falling apart. It helps ease the fear.
...
Yeah... this is taken out of context, but still...
That is sooo true!
That depends on who is in charge. Hitler was in charge last time the world was falling apart, and look what happened.
Looks like Clinton or Trump will be in charge this time... I don't expect anything better to come of it this time.

Yer pie looked good anyway. Glad it didn't taste burnt anywhere. I like my pie on the crispy side anyway. Still have that last quarter to share? :D
I'll tell you once. I won't tell you twice.
You'd better wise up, Janet Weiss.

I live in the boonies with dirt roads and no curbs, but perhaps one on the mailbox down by the street? Not much action out here (thank goodness!) but still...
Aunt Lettie raised my husband, way out in the boonies. we found out today her grandson (45+/-) was murdered down some dirt road. his truck had been tapped in the back,, best guess is he got out of the truck ,, had a few words,, and suddenly started running away.. then he got shot a few times. he was dead for hours before any one drove by and found him in the middle of the street in a lot of rain water.-- i too grew up in the boonies,, i always felt 'safe' out there,,, but what happened to Robert sure makes us wonder whats going on.

So sorry, @kross8! That's frightening! My condolences and I sure hope they catch the killer.

That is scary! Condolences to his family. Praying that they catch his killer. Where did this happen?

Aunt Lettie is 80ish,,,, she is a very strong woman. she still runs the biGG farm. Robert helped a bit (his weakness was lazyness).. she is pretty tore up about it.. i think she wants my husband back home with her by the way she was talking today and her daughter (Roberts mother) were talking to us today on the phone.

she raised my husband with her son Jimmy,, they were like brothers.. 2 peas in a pod,, doing dumb guy stuff---> always ended with an injury or damage.. hilarious stories......in their 20's they sort of drifted apart. Jimmy got mixed up in drugs and was looking at prison.. so he blew his brains out. that shocked everyone.. he wasnt looking at that much prison time. anyway, that made Aunt Lettie hang on to my husband even more. she is a wonderful person-i am glad she raised him.

Yep, we had one today. So far this year we have lost two trees. One to lightning and one to the heat.

I hate, hate, when I lose trees on the property. One of my red maples gave up this spring ... sad to see it go.

Nice! I like that idea

Nuttin' like propagation, indoors or out...

ahem! ahem!

Truth is, even if I had a curb, I'd feel like the symbolism was unnecessarily divisive.

Nah ... what about when lots of people put yellow ribbons or bows on their trees and mailboxes. Many did but but everyone and I never though those that didn't, didn't want our troops coming home safe.

 I wondered that too. The only people that I could possibly see getting excited over scented duct tape would be the B/D fans... :?:

huh? How does duct tape go w/ Blueberry Doughnuts.

Good Lord! Such a tragedy! What a shock and loss for his loved ones. Prayers for all.
