Just for my own personal FYI .. is this a legal method of viewing .. ?? I have been toying with various streaming options in order to reduce the extortion exerted by my CATV provider ..
If used, would a VPN be a good idea .. ?? Is the quality audio/video stream HD .. ??
I know you like it, I know you swear by it, I know you've said the content is rich .. so, help a Brother out with some additional review ..
Legal? Knot a klue, bro. But you aren't downloading anything. It's streaming. Never found anything about illegalities anywhere.
AFAIK, VPN doesn't matter. You could but streaming will slow down, of course.
AFAIK #2... It seems to be illegal to DL programs (in the states, not here) but you aren't downloading anything. So, gray area? Besides, some programs are 80 or 90 years old if yer into that. (And yes, the original Roots is there as well)
Quality... All kinds. From SD to HD. 480 to 1080. Depending on what and where it's coming from. Most I've seen were 720. And... I have no idea where it's coming from outside of being on the web someplace!
I very rarely have a buffering problem. And here, 16Mb is about the fastest available. But if there is a buffer problem, just pick another source. There's usually dozens of sources for the same thing.
I am considering a kodi box. But to try it out on a PC, Mac, Linux... itz free. So why not try it to see if you like it. I have two tv's with a vga connection so vga to hdmi (on the vid cards) could eliminate the need for a box. Film at 11. (just not sure which year) Our PC's run 24/7 anyway.
Just remember, kind of a learning curve adding add ons. And you need add ons. 99% of the thousands are free. But some require a subscription. But even those hold only shows that someone else has free anyway.
What I like is, when you think of that old movie or tv show you really loved. Wonder if or when it's coming on again... uh... it's on when you want it on. Like... as we speak.
As far as downloading... there is a way. Just haven't figgered it out or feel the need since it's all on line anyway. Why use up storage space for something you can watch anytime, anywhere.
