Apparently there is a coup going on in Turkey. My neice is in Istanbul with her husband and kids. Her husband is a Turkish citizen. Please keep her safety in your prayers. She is talking to me via text and says they are keeping the lights off and sitting in the dark. Says they can see jets and helos flying low over the house. Erhan is a member of a well connected family. No political power but, quite wealthy. They spend about a month each summer there with his family. They're in Istanbul getting ready to come home but, now they can't get to the airport. The military is saying they are in control now and have declared marshall law.

You got 'em!

What a mess....

Boy, it sure is getting spread thin these days!!!

Fantastic job on the motorhome! You really have that fixed up NICE!!! LUV the personal touches (and added "safety devices" ;) :D ) Maybe you could keep it and rent it out. Just a thought. There are a few folks up here that do that and it seems to work out okay but it may be more hassle than it's worth for you guys. Idunno............

Ain't no tellin'... there are so many "craft brewers" out there than you can probably find a Big Red flavored beer or malt beverage. I still really like RC cola, though, when I can find it.

Funny story. When we moved to Missouri (I was 16), the first time I went to a restaurant I asked them what flavors of coke they had. She just looked at me with blank eyes until I asked if they had Coke, Mtn. Dew, Sprite... she says "Oh! Pop!" I had to explain to her that where I grew up, there was coke, tea, and koolaid. Which leads to another story... some people actually make UNSWEETENED TEA! I almost spit that stuff across the room, then they handed me two little sugar packets... LMAO! Like that was gonna do anything!
When I first moved to Texas from Michigan we went into a restaurant and I ordered a coke. The lady asked me what kind. I kinda didn't quite know how to answer that.

Even so I didn't blinder quite as badly as my cousin when she moved to Georgia and ordered "A Grit"

I knew I forgot something!

Ridiculous lightning, thunder and rain for the past hour. My power went out a couple of times. I'm just glad that my Internet didn't get fried again.

Also, there's a frog that hangs out outside my side door.... either that frog or a member of his family has regularly taken shelter on many wet occasions in the groove that runs around the outside of the aluminum storm door.

Picture when I can find him, because today he hopped inside when I opened the door, and then under the kitchen table and under the freezer, I think. Quick little bugger. Catch and release, but I'll have him pose for a picture first.

I'll take a fizzy pop! Maybe it'll take my mind of off what just came down on us in PA.

Will do Matt. Just got done watching a little of the news on this. In the midst of it all they're reporting international fights are about to begin again while the airport is looking like a crazy mod scene.

Here are some pics of the motorhome that I'm forced to sell. Removed the carpet in the "living room" and took out the booth to give more room overall.

Wow, that's really nice looking. It's a shame you have to sell it. Say ... how many Kayfuns would you take in trade. I can throw in some of Janet's DIY juice too.

... "what from who" is Iffy.

But not to worry, I've got plenty of guns to protect my property.

Yepper, if da time ever comes 'round in my lifetime, it'll be what target and who's next...

But a great place for Chinese food.

Seriously, very few here would enjoy a Chinese diet! I ate at a Chinese celebratory meal dat made me hit Taco Bell on da way home, seriously...

I don't believe I'll run, I'd rather make the others run.

Or at least <Peking> duck!

Well. I'm feeling just civilized enuf to pop in for a minute.
And I feel brave 'nuff to say a minute ain't 'nuff! Huge hugs...

Don't know about Strongbow, Myrany, but the Angry Orchard (also very good IMO) is with the more premium/import stuff, at least up here.............
Angry Orchard makes a boatload of different hard apple ciders. Some are pricey. My favorite hard cider is Rekorderlig, from Sweden, but at $5 for a 17 oz bottle I wanted to find one for half that price or less.

So based on a blind taste review that I read of half a zillion different ciders, I bought some Angry Orchard "Orchard's Edge The Old Fashioned".

I'm drinking my first one now. Very good! Good thing too, since I bought 36 of them. 6.5% ABV, 12 oz, $2.40. Manufacturer's description: Aged on cherries, orange peel, and bourbon barrels.

Matt,

Prayers definately on da way!

My three month Turkish experience was 'bout thirty years ago. I was so impressed with the country, history, people and especially the military (many of which were US trained, officers & senior NCOs).

But that was a generation and a history page ago. I just hope there are enough secular military to hold their country together!

You actually have to put the sugar in while the tea is still hot... otherwise, it won't all dissolve.
grew up with u/s sun tea,, then evolved into lemon tea,, if given a choice i like sweet tea (you are right,, add sugar when hot).. i also like honey tea. (but i have to have the honey from within a 2 state radius if i want to live/breath/wake up tomorrow.) i also like hot tea,, as listed above.....i have never tried any of the herbal teas..they dont sound appealing,,(and i bet they are awesome/just got to get my head around the idea)

After you get the iced tea, iced, and in a glass, squeeze a wedge of lime in it instead of lemon. Give it a couple of minutes to bond with the tea. It really is good.

Well. I'm feeling just civilized enuf to pop in for a minute.

To make a long boring story short...about three weeks ago I fell down...but didn't realize that I broke a pelvic bone in my right hip, the one that has a new ball n joint. So I've gone way back in the recovery time...and I'm not pleasant to be around when I'm so p.o.d and depressed.Anyone with any sense at all that knows me steers way clear till I give the green light so to speak. It's still not green but maybe a mild red...

Bye for now...
Damn Kay that sounds too close to me to be comfortable. Reminds me of me. Take care of yourself and don't get too confident. Famous last words, I been there and all I think about after is why did I do that. If we could just think about that before.
