I just got my car insurance bill for 2 pickups and it's $2k !!! Is that average?
Ummmm, do they have new corvette motors???
Actually, tough to say. If they are newer, V-8s, full coverage and you drive them more than 20 miles a day each, that's probably the ball park.

Well I finally got my labs back from the VA and faxed them to my cardiologist. He wants to see me so I go in the 30th. I already know what he wants to talk to me about. He thinks I have Aquired Hemolytic Anemia caused from the leaks in my Aortic valve. He told me last week that depending on how this Haptoglobin test came out that I might need another valve replacement. I'm just about sure that is what he wants to talk to me about. IDK if I'm ready for that again. It seems that my Aortic Valve that they replaced and has Paravalvular leaks because of the calcification that couldn't be removed are causing my RBC to be sheared and destroyed faster then my bone marrow can produce them. So I'll have to wait and talk to him. I am not even sure if I am a candidate for rereplacement or whether I want to do it. IDK if there are any doctors here that would even consider it but I'll have to wait till I talk to him. I'm pretty sure he'll want to do a procedure called a TEE which will give him a lot better idea of the leak. That stand for Trans Esophageal Echocardiogram where they go through your throat and get better pictures of your heart without the lungs interfering with it. Well I'll just have to wait and see what he has to say but I figure it is not going to be good. I just faxed the Labs in this AM and they got right back to me to set me up with an appt. Oh well will hope for the best.
Still praying, Legs!

@Kenna , my lovely bride deals with computers all day every day so the last thing she wants to do when she gets home is spend MORE time on a computer, ha, ha. She does lurk over my shoulder to make sure I'm behaving though, sometimes with little success.......
Ugh! I was like that when I first retired. But I got over it when I got tired of hanging out by myself.

My wife peeks at what I am posting also. Everytime I tell her I got hit with Deb's frying pan again - She asks - "What did you do this time?" LOL...

Hey, Deb, Janet, Yiddle, Gracie, Mrs C. Iffy, Matt, and all - she told me to say "Hi" to everyone for her.
[emoji47] Hi back?

Well some good news I think. They got the results of the CT back and my little nodules are not growing so they want to sent me to a lung specialist about my COPD and he can tell me I should've started vaping long before but that wasn't possible. They also notice a thickening in my esophagus so they want me to have a special Xray. See @classwife and I only vape 10-15mls a day.
I'm at about 4 a day. I'm flabbergasted about it.

Either a coma or a stupor.
What's that you say? We've got a bad connection and I'm not hearing you very clearly... you said either a Comet or a Stuka?

Besides my earnest, heartfelt and posted concerns/encouragements for our porchers and their dire issues, must say...

Oh, how I wish we could divert some of our tax 'donations' to Semi and his bride's efforts. Believe me when I proclaim that their efforts are more worthy than any of US/UN/tithing efforts; with no other authority than their belief, love and faith in our Lord!

My dearest Phil and sweetest bride, I know you both may/will cringe with my platitudes for your humble, but yet noble and impactful mission! I know that your odysseys are not 'vacations'! NTL, you both are two of my life HEROES!

Just had to jump in and reveal, with appropriate real life punctuation, Semi & bride's selfless giving and loving efforts...

that wuz beautiful.......thanks! glad you got the Forester all fixed up. Now what day will you be rollin into Texas??? lol

Never mind...I found my smart cap, put it on, tilted it slightly to the right so it'd look cool and did it myself!!
yay for you!!

The last time I talked to him he said he was going to strap a snow shovel to the front of his pick up and when someone asked, "What the heck is that?" he figured that would be the place to stop.
hehehe that's priceless!!

What are we - knockoffs from China??? :D:w00t::lol:
lmao!

Of course I now have a small riding mower and what used to take me about 4 hours takes two days.
confused why having a riding lawn mower now, makes it take so much longer, are you just doing a lot more than you used to do?

That's probably why I procrastinate so much on a lot of projects that I really want to do. I LOVE woodworking, but it takes me 3X longer to get anything done because I hand sand everything down to a really fine grit. If anything doesn't look right, then I go back up two grit sizes and keep working it until I'm happy... it's beautiful when I'm done, but there is a lot of frustration between starting and finishing.
soooooooooo you end up with a really beautiful toothpick????

I'm gonna have to get out of here a bit early today. Gotta take off in an hour and a half to take my Bride down to M.D. Anderson. We're meeting with the head of their clinical trial group to find out what else they can possibly offer her for treatment, since none of the traditional chemos seem to be working. Of course, we're doing our own research as well, but it certainly won't hurt to go find out what is available here. Any positive vibes and prayers that y'all can spare for us to get some good news today would be greatly appreciated!
Prayers darlin........you got em! Surely hope they can find something!

She's just really hoping that M.D. Anderson will be able to offer her something with a bit of promise because she has a lot of faith in that particular cancer center.
that's where my dad went. I wanted him to move up here with me, but he trusted his docs, and didn't want to leave them, which I totally understand. So I drove down there on avg every other weekend when I'd get off work on Friday.

I see every single flaw every time I look at it..
I think we all do. Of course, like bells said, I try to look at the flaws as character. You know it was something handcrafted when it's not perfect. Many Indian people will do something specific that doesn't belong because only God makes something perfect. In my case it was a single blue bead. I didn't have purple beads at the time. The blue bead came from an arm band that was black and red that I'd done when I was a teenager and then found that blue bead I'd accidentally put on. It was all done in single bead, so would have taken me forever to take all that out and re-do it when I finally noticed it.

I just finished refurbishing a 10ft long rattan display center. I call it refurbish when I do not take it back to bare wood. There levels of finish - some glassy some medium glossy and the prime areas are satin. Makes the light reflect differently from different angles. Took me almost 3 weeks to finish it - my arms needed a lot of breaks...
oh I bet that's gorgeous! Pics??

prayers for you too darlin!

Hey those are pretty big dogs, howd you get em in the fax machine?

Sent from a dark, twisted corner of the back porch, covered in cobwebs and slightly damp.

The contest was simple - each person had to saw through a 2x4 with their current hand saw - the winner won the new hand saw (Made in USA) - I let all of them go first - I won because my circular saw beat the pants off of them... I then handed them each their new hand saw, but they were still ogling the circular saw (LOL - that was mine)...
that is so wonderful. It's amazing all that y'all are able to do for them and the wonderful heart you have for doing it. Like Iffy said, wish I could make contributions to it. He said it so well.....y'all are so tireless and have such loving hearts to do so much there!

See......she knows! hehehe Miss y'all........give her a huge hug from me!

Underwriting guidelines are all over the place in Florida right now for different companies.
There have been some rate increases...the larger companies will go ahead and take them first and 'take the hit'...the smaller ones will lag behind to win you over and then get you at your next renewal.
I quote people all day long...sometimes I am able to bind a policy for them and sometimes not.
There are many deciding factors that underwriting takes into account...so it's hard to say if that is a high premium for you or not.
