I inherited a couple straight edge razors from Janet's father. He kept them so sharp with a strop. But no way I'm getting them near my face. I started to once and chickened out.

I asked my barber how to learn to use one. He said when you can remove all the fuzz from a peach without nicking the skin, you're ready to do your face.
Smart man. ;)

Hauled 28 two cubic foot bags of mulch home yesterday. Turns out Home Depot has a truck that will haul a ton and a half that you can rent for $20 for 75 minutes. They loaded that bad boy up for us but, of course we had to unload it ourselves. Yesterday morning we had 28 bags, this morning 8 and this evening 4. I was sweating like a pig after unloading that damn truck. Touched every one of those buggers. Truck bed was too high for Doree to grab them. Front yard is looking great. We also bought 4 Azaleas and 18 pansies to give the beds some quick color. The Azaleas we had planted this spring seem to have all died over the summer. Not from drought or anything (plenty of rain this year) but from some kind of "rust" or something.

I am in remarkably better shape these days than I have been in the last 4 or 5 years. Being warm out and staying very active has seemed to helped. Knees are ok. Doctor gave me a script for professional knee braces and compression sleeves. I had been wearing some from Sports Authority. These are much better. Custom fit to me and hold the knees in precisely the correct position. I still don't need them all the time but, as soon as they start to hurt a little, on go the braces. Sometime the compression sleeves are all that's needed but, if I am going to do a lot of up and down work, braces all the way. The only complaint I have these days is my thumbs. Sometimes they hurt like hell. I have braces for them too but, they actually hurt worse with the brace on then with it off. It used to be confined to my left thumb but now the right is worse than the left. I suspect it's really caused by a combination of arthritis and using my phone to surf the web, text and such:danger::shock:.

Well goodnight all. I'll try to check in more often. I've been feeling a little guilty for not doing so more often but, real life has definitely been interfering.

See you later, love and miss you all. Of course I think you all know that. ;)

Remember Bosco?
Yes! So nice that someone else remembers!
Yep, think you're right. The worst part about the Bosco gift was that they were so pleased with having found something for me that I loved from my childhood that not too much later they bought me a 2nd bottle!
Well, you can't tell them you don't like it. Maybe say the doctor put you on a new diet?
Wow Bells...thank you so much for this video..so heartwarming!!There's hope for some of the much younger generations!!!1
The 'younger generation' is just like any other younger generation was. You wouldn't know it to watch tv. But, in reality, they're just as good, and just as bad, as any other. My grandkids are incredible. It's amazing to watch them learn and mature. Who woulda thunk that a teenage boy could be so sensitive and decent?!
I awoke to a thunderstorm...YAY!!!! Real rain, and it's still going strong! I hope it keeps up for a couple of days!
I love the rain! It cleanses and refreshes the soul!

WooooHoooo! Congrats on your 3 years of freedom!

@MattB101, it's so nice to see you around more often. I bet you are in pretty good shape with all the exercise you've been getting. Just don't overdo it.

Lucky Number Slevin, 2006.
Bruce Willis and Josh Hartnett.

I've reviewed this one before but I just watched it again. Excellent movie. Shoot 'em up mystery/action/drama thriller. I could be wrong, but I believe that Bruce Willis in real life is well over average in intelligence, and that he brings that intelligence to the parts he plays.

Morgan Freeman and Clive Owen.
The Middle Ages. Just not my genre. It is impossible for this type of movie to entertain me, so I declare myself ineligible to judge the quality. (Braveheart was equally boring to me.)

If you're a history nut like I am, Braveheart was a total sham without a shred of historical value at all.

However, Rob Roy was excellent.

I enjoy most period films even knowing they are fiction, as most films are, but.....I also have always loved history. What bugs me ...and is probably not noticed by most others... is inaccuracy in the costuming and hairstyles for the period being shown...i.e. gowns of the Tudor or Elizabethan period were NOT fastened with zippers, nor did brides wear white.....;)

If you enjoy history....Amazon has a docudrama titled "After Braveheart", which tells about the alliance between Scotland and Ireland and the struggle the Bruce family went through in attempting to make England recognize Robert Bruce as king of Scotland... :)

I lived in the UK for 4 years. What better way of exploring a country's history and past. :)
