You have done a fine job with the transition to a foreign country. After experiencing Canadian culture, Chinese culture will be a cinch.
That's for sure. The last time I was in Canada everyone smoked, drank beer and watched hockey. Probably 2 of 3 are the most expensive thing to do in Canada

Okay, that's pretty awesome.... I don't even need one, but I want one! And definitely want the Mini Gun add-on! :D

Today being steroid day, you most definitely have my thoughts and prayers, Darlin'! Praying that things go much more smoothly for you this time around, too!

Most Excellent news!!

Holy Moley!! Try to stay dry, Darlin'!! You're the second person today that I think is gonna grow gills if that rain doesn't let up! [emoji38]

Well, Mama was released from the hospital last night and is staying with my sister for a couple of days. They did the angiogram thing through her arm instead of through the groin, so she can't lift anything for a little while. I'm just extremely grateful that they found nothing wrong with her and that the docs said she should be around for a good long while! :):):):):)
Thanks, Kazz! And great news on the Mom! Whoop!

Well I heard back from the VA and they are going to give me a glucometer as soon as they can get me in to see the Nurse Care Unit to show me how to use it. With instructions if It falls that low again to go directly to the ER. Well the VA here doesn't have an ER they have an Urgent Care Unit because they supposedly didn't have the funding for the ER. Will find out more later.
Good!

Yeah that is what I figured now I just got a call and I have to see a pulmonologist besides the one at the VA on the outside and they are picking up the tab for that too. Evidently they want me to have some tests that the VA doesn't do. Man it is getting to be a daily thing. This is getting worse then going to work. Plus I'm not supposed to drive if I am not feeling right so Ginny is stuck with hauling me around. Not sure about this I have a lung function test at the VA next Tuesday then have to see an outside doc whenever they get me in.
I hope Dennis is going to be OK too. I got to looking cause I was unsure when I started coming to this thread and it was on the very first one. Even had conversations with txtumbleweed. Wow time flies when your having fun.

As it's my birthday I decided to take the day off. We're going out to eat tonight, Mexican food, my favorite as of now. My favorite changes when I get bored with one it's time to switch.
Wanted to thank everyone for the birthday wishes. Always nice. Doree got me a birthday card calling me an old fart and going on to describe the different types of farts. Pretty damn funny. We don't go in for the sentimental type of cards. Life is to short not to laugh, especially as we get older when there seems to be fewer things to laugh about. ;)[emoji38]
I love the funny birthday cards. My sisters & I go nuts with them! One sister has always celebrated her birthday month. All. Month. Long. So we gang up on her & bombard her with cards all month. She gets 5 one day, then 2, and suddenly nothing for a week. Then it starts & stops for the rest of the month. We card shop all year long for her cards!

Yummmmm!! I've been on a Mexican food kick lately, too... I'd be embarrassed to admit to how many tacos I've eaten in the past month. Let's just say that I've probably eaten close to 30 pounds of fajita beef, and numerous packages of soft corn tortillas. Not to mention an entire bottle of Heartbreaking Dawns and several jars of Mrs. Renfro's Habanero Salsa! [emoji38][emoji38]
Did you do King Ranch Chicken?

Nah, there are quite a few taco joints around here that are completely authentic. ;) Most all of the tacos I've eaten recently were made at home, though. Grilled skirt steak, fresh cilantro and onions, a little hot sauce/salsa, and a little fresh shredded extra sharp cheddar. Then get the small corn tortillas and just warm them up on a cast iron skillet, give it a little squeeze of lime and eat 'em up!
We warm them straight on the stove burner. Direct flamen or coil.

Not to change the subject, but.....well, yes....I am changing it...;)

Did anybody else watch the pilot episode of "Designated Survivor" last night? Opinions.....?

I thought 'they' overdid the 'Casper Milk Toast' part of his character. I'll give it a chance yet. It wasn't an instant winner for me. Perhaps Jack Bauer is too imbedded in my brain cells.

I suppose if one wants to publicly display rather than simply think or mentally wonder, you would be right ..
So....or simply care about someone more than you care about yourself. As opposed to to self-absorbed rumination?

Casper? Didn't get that. More of sleeping lion coming thru for me.
And I love Keif and Don. But if it's going to be like a soap opera (tune in tomorrow to find out etc. etc.) I'm gone.
If I like a show and it comes on as part one of two... skip both.

When I had the hip replacement and then the ensuing complication of the cracked pelvic bone I was pretty down...so many people here lifted my spirits simply by acknowledging that I was hurting and despondent and giving me encouragement and what i like to think of as affection if not downright love. I believe that almost no one wants to feel all alone in their misery whether it's physical, mental, or emotional...'course there are exceptions, as in every "rule"..and that's just fine, too.

We're all flawed human beings in some way or another.....

wait...I'm not! Guess i'm an exception.....

Yep I set it up to record, but when it came on just had to watch. Think I'm going to like it. Interesting premise and I've already wondered about such a thing happening, but not on this scale.

We loved 24. We got into that one about year 3 because I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. We rented the 1st year and ended up marathoning the rest. I get frustrated waiting a whole week to see the next show so I'm going to DVR this series so we don't miss any.

Oh, and remember the Keiffer's show Touch? I really liked that one, but it didn't last.
I liked that one, too. Too bad it didn't stay.
