Speakin' o' banners... how the helk do you change em? Don't seem to be able to upload a new one anymore. :/
I did it just like before. Generate the code, then paste the code in the signature box. I never was able to "upload" a code" even on the old system

Once you have the HTML language copied that they give you when you create it, go to you signature edit page, delete the old banner then click on the little paper clip (link) symbol and paste the HTML into the resulting box and click on insert. You can post a link to Photobucket in a regular post the same way.

matt, I did mention to him that he may want to ask how many cigs a day vs packs a day for folks who smoked say 1.5 packs, he said he'd look into it I rounded up on the cigs, then went down on the dollars.
I just put in 2.5 and didn't even look to see if it took.

Hey Mike, Where the heck is everybody? o_O

Don't know about the other porchers - buy we were out most of the afternoon appliance shopping for the kitchen make-over. This evening the contractor came over to get some more measurements and discuss some finish details. Then we drove over to our son's to pickup our daughter. Just sat down on the couch a little while ago to rest up before going to bed. ;)

He he!!!

Let me tell you a story. But first I have to ask a question. What are the maximum amount of days in any calendar month? Answer - 31. My story is based on this number.

In the orient, under their old fashioned ways (not as much now) they believe that a person should make their mark in life before they are out of calendar - before they are 31 years old they should know if their life will be successful or not.

Well it was probably about 1am on the night of my 30th birthday and this is what popped into my head. I was sipping on a fine Scotch (my fav back then) and I just could not get the thought out of my head. And I really can not explain why, but I downed the rest of my glass and walked out the door to go home - it was the last night of real drinking for me. Now I was not a drunk - I really only drank on Fri and Sat nights, but on that particular night - I changed my life.

Since that night - you could count the hard liquor drinks that I have had with your fingers (not counting thumbs). I still have an unfinished bottle of Scotch and another of Jack that I have saved since that day (remembrance). They have been tapped into on occasions since then, but not much - mostly when I have the right guest at the house and I will have an occasional beer and I do drink wine on a fairly regular basis (remember wine and popcorn - LOL).

I just knew I needed a change and I did it... Have I made mistakes on the new path - sure who hasn't, but I believe it is better than the other one would have been if I had stayed on it.

Sorry, if I got all serious... Another one I almost cancelled...

My short story.

Well maybe that's a key age by choice or not. I was right around 30 when I drove my car w/ 3 other people right into a lake after spending all day in a bar. Now that was a life changer night if ever I had one. Yep it sobered me up quite quick. Thank the Lord we all got through it without a scratch.

Well, it was a sorta slow night but definately picked up at the end of the evening (end for me tonight at least). You'll have to share what you picked out appliance wise some time. I will be doing the same for the new house shortly so I would appreciate seeing what you guys picked because I am pretty sure you do you homework.

I'll let Janet fill you in on the details. She did the on-line research before going out looking. I'm just happy she decided to replace the current glass top stove w/ a gas stove. I never liked the glass top stove.

That is what my wife wants to do, but since we do not know how long we are staying here I am asking her to hold off for a bit. Gas cooks better (IMO)...

wow.........definitely glad everyone was ok!!

I don't like em either. SIl has one of those. Of course, atm I'd be happy with it if they would get the 220 fixed! She thinks it's just a fuse out, but for quite awhile now we've been using a toaster oven and hot plate. So even tho I don't like em, would prefer the glass top to a hot plate lol

Ok, sil is ready to watch the Once finale, so I'll be back in a couple of hours. Have a great night everyone.

We passed up on the 'talking' refrigerator'. It had a screen, mic and speaker in the door. You could play back netflix, pandora and some other apps on the screen and tether to your phone to make phone calls with it. I just couldn't see myself standing in front of the fridge talking to it. Nope.

Also had never heard about 'induction' stoves. The burners don't get hot at all. Some kind of magic w/ magnetism heats the metal cooking pan/pot - but you can put your hand on the burner area and not get burned. Nope wasn't interested in this technology either. The salesman said his friend just lays paper towels on the stove top before cooking. Then any spills / splashes are soaked up by the towels and no stains on the glass top.

My quit drinking occurred when I got diagnosed with Lung Cancer. I was running down a path that wasn't going to lead to a long life in any way. Drinking every afternoon after work. Spending from around 4:30 to around 7:30 every afternoon after work I the VFW. Got home pie eyed more often than not. My diagnoses was like a wake up call telling me life was too short for that crap. Also around the same time I went on pain management and was told several times that the two don't combine well. Quit drinking almost completely since. An occasional beer and a margarita when we go out to dinner at the Mexican place is about all these days. Don't really even miss it. I wouldn't hesitate to have a few with you guys but, a few is all it would be. Never thought of myself as an alcoholic and I still don't but, it was definitely getting out of hand.

Me neither but, that's what is waiting for us at the MIL's house. All electric home too. Gas other than propane is not available and it's a townhouse in neighborhood association development and I am not sure we could even have a propane tank installed. Couldn't put it in back as access would be through the neighbor's back yard and I don't think they would let it go out front even if I wanted to put it there. I really like cooking with gas. They say an electric oven is better though as it holds a more even temperature.
