The SX-M class and DNA40 boards are designed to work w/ very low Ω coils. When using like a .14Ω coil on a DNA40 mod you're well within the design limits of the circuit board. Put that .14Ω coil in a mech and you're pushing the limits of most batteries.

Matter of fact, I couldn't have said it better myself. I don't consider that sub ohm even though technically it really is but it's not dangerous like sub ohming a mech is.
For instance:
On a DNA40 a .14Ω coil at 14 watts the boards 'bucks' the batt to 1.4 volts drawing 10 amps from the battery.
On a Mech Mod a .14Ω coil assuming only 3.8 volts under load to the coil, draws 27 amps from the batt (103 watts). Can you say "kaboom" is likely.
