Older Folks and Vaping Back Porch - Part Three

Usually in a group of people that share one or more common interest/s or are generally "nice" people then the communication most the time tends to find an equilibrium.
Last night was kind of weird for me. The connection was strange with lots of echo and strange noises. I cold barely understand what some were saying and with the background hoots and whistles of cyberspace I had a very hard time separating background noise from the voices. I have a very hard time with that in the real world too. After about 20 minutes or so I started to get the pounder headache and bowed out, hopefully gracefully. I hope nobody took offense, if so none was intended.
I have to agree with my good friend and brother from a different mother. I feel that this forum has been and continues to be one of the best things that has happened to me in a number of years. Since I got lung cancer, even though it was cured (so far) I started to pull back into myself and stay home. I used to live at the various drinking establishments that I frequented but, after my cancer diagnoses and the pain meds that my knees have forced me into, I pretty much quit drinking, ok maybe the occasional margarita or two but pretty much not. I made an amazing discovery. Drunks suck as friends generally and there are way to many self centered people involved in various fraternal organizations that I was a member of. They definately weren't there when I needed them. This forum has provided me with new friends that I feel have my back. Maybe not in the way that somebody next door might help out with a problem but, providing a vent and consul that I haven't found elsewhere, I to am starting to extend myself into the real world by finding new friends in the cyber world. I hope that makes sense. Trying to say thanks for being there folks.

Matt, I was having the same issues on my end noise wise .. I exited twice and re-started the laptop .. then I exited Deb's Den, stayed in Google, refreshed the page and went back in .. I was then clear as a bell video and audio wise and stayed that way till I left .. I think we may have experienced some connection switching issues within the various ISP's we use .. just a guess .. or it was the NSA .. 
I'll add that I also turned the WIFI off on the laptop and used CAT6 Ethernet .. I don't really care for WIFI anyway ..

We use mostly VOIP for all of our calls - and there are times you just have to hang up and call back to get a straighter connection... The WWW is just that - everything is so interconnected you could be going from Florida - to California - to New York and then back down to your neighbors house when you call them...

Yeah, exactly .. and on a Friday night, with heavy use going on with Netflix, the rest of the streamers, we were in Prime Time .. then just add in the general Friday night Web Chatter .. voila ..
If I want a hardwire connection I have to run a cat6 across the living room, through the kitchen and into the dining room. Besides being a major trip hazard and cat toy, momma don't like it so I stick with WiFi. Matt, aren't you the one that said you used a tablet for the hangout? If so what kind and how was the experience?
Living in a house with basement, I hardwired the whole house a couple years ago .. my router sends the WIFI encrypted signal and it's great .. but I have a Ethernet switch upstairs and downstairs and a hardwired out jack in every room .. my paranoia is showing, but WIFI can be hacked ..
Not so hot. I tried it last night and it kept freezing up. I'm using a Galaxy Tab 4 7" tablet and it doesn't keep an Internet connection over WiFi very well at all. I don't know if it's the tablet or the router but, I suspect it's the tablet. I use my Imac for the hangouts now but, momma gripes that I'm too loud and she can't here the TV.

Thanks. My wife says we are loud also - last night I turned down the volume, but I am loud because I am not wearing my hearing aids and I of course do not hear myself as being loud, but my wife lets me know when I am...
