Fist pic = punch holes

second pic = reach out and touch and I would guess anything much further with a standard military 5.56 round and a 16" barrel would be spray and spray

I'm shooting 55gr Wolf Gold. About the cheapest brass cased, lead bullet .223 ammo you can buy. It will do right around 1- 1.5 MOA at 100yds out of my cheap AR if I do my part. It can certianly do 4 MOA out to 500 yards. I've seen people routinely ring 3-4 MOA steel out at 500 - 600 with M193 ball ammo in these Palmetto State ARs. All depends if the shooter is up to it.

Appleseed is big on their 30 cal battle rifles, though. There's always Garands and M1As and ARs in .308 on the line. Guy had a nice one out there today but quit early because he didn't want his baby getting rained on.

My father. Probably in 1949.

Here is a report from the local newspaper. Dated 8/2/45. He was a tank driver.
His unit, the 77th Division was moved to Hawaii in early 1944 and then took part in the invasion of Guam in July of 1944. This was a difficult campaign as the Japanese were well dug in and the coral reefs were numerous, which meant much equipment had to be floated ashore on rafts. Also, it was difficult terrain for tanks since the soil was sandy and soft. Torrential rains meant more difficulty for the tanks....One medium tank next to him was destroyed. The Japanese had few tanks, though. Their troops were unpredictable and would charge tanks with sabers. Usually, though, they tried to sneak up behind American lines. Few of the surrendered. Maurice's division then spent several weeks rooting out the dug in Japanese who had not surrendered or been killed.

After a rest in New Caledonia, they moved out for Leyte, Philippine Islands. On Thanksgiving day, while eating their turkey dinner, their convoy was attacked by Japanese planes, but they were able to proceed to Leyte. They landed after the beachhead had already been established. Again, the soft ground and abundant rains made it difficult to use their medium tanks.

...they left for the invasion of Okinawa in March 1945. However, before their departure, Maurice became severely ill and was flown to a hospital in New Guinea. As luck would have it, the Japanese bombed the base just an hour after his arrival. Although creating much damage and giving the doctors a busy night, the attack caused him no problems.
His illness probably dwarfed the bombing. Soon after, he was diagnosed with cancer, which would have been found too late if he hadn't gotten dengue.

Taken from A Look at a Small Farm Town in World War II: The Warsaw Diary. Precious to few.

I think I have mastered this software!

Kenna.......so happy for you sweetie!!! And so glad you were able to post this!!!

wahoooo metal!!!! Good for you!

This has been an interesting afternoon. tornadoes in towns all around us, our sirens went off twice, but it never seemed super threatening here. Mostly hard rain, by the time the rain died down, conditions didn't seem to indicate a tornado here, and no reports of any on the ground in our town once the TV came back on, so dunno why the sirens were going off.

Yeah, my sister said she has to take the long way out of her neighborhood to get to work, because a bridge is out.
yeah we're still not getting the flooding that some parts are, but we do have some roads closed due to flooding.

I apologize in advance, but I get so excited whenever I try a new flavor. This is Frinilla 50/50 mixed with my tobacco mint 100 pg. The French vanilla is rich and full in the mouth, not too sweet, tobacco on the nose, a tad woodsy, with a light fresh finish. The vanilla really softens the tobacco. It's like walking in a forest after a rain.

Evening,folks:)

Evening Fran - more like Good Night time - Yikes, I've got to get up at 3:45am to take my son to the airport. Maybe I should just stay up chatting on the porch and/or the hangout.

That's it. Now I remember what it is. He's a real 'FAL' addict ... has about 17 of 'em ... most he built himself. Also a few parrots that are his pride and joy.

Though he technically isn't married, he is attached for quite awhile to his lady friend.
