Morning Everybody. Another sleepless night. Tried to take a nap this morning and that didn't work either. Oh well, what's a mother to do?
Take comfort in the FACT that you will sleep well once you have settled into your new home. Believe that, and you will. Best of luck for the next few weeks.

Thanks, I feel like that too. Can't wait. Tired of prep work and ready to get in the road.

Hey Porchers...got this from my Sis, wanted to share it with you....

Medicare - Part G - Nursing Home Plan

Say you are an older senior citizen and can no longer take care of yourself and the government says there is no Nursing Home care available for you. So, what do you do?

You opt for Medicare Part G.

The plan gives anyone 75 or older a gun(Part G) and one bullet.

You are allowed to shoot one worthless politician.

This means you will be sent to prison for the rest of your life where you will receive three meals a day, a roof over your head, central heating and air conditioning, cable TV, a library, and all the Health Care you need.

Need new teeth? No problem.

Need glasses? That's great.

Need a hearing aid, new hip, knees, kidney, lungs, sex change, or heart? They are all covered!

As an added bonus, your kids can come and visit you at least as often as they do now!

And, who will be paying for all of this?

The same government that just told you they can't afford for you to go into a nursing home.

And you will get rid of a useless politicians while you are at it.

And now, because you are a prisoner, you don't have to pay anymore income taxes!

Is this a great country or what?

Now that you have solved your senior financial plan,

enjoy the rest of your week!=============

Never thought much about this confederate flag other than seeing it I think on the general Lee on dukes of hazzard.
So why am I only hearing that people want it taken down now and not say any other time in the last several decades ?
Many see it as an icon for racism. Racially motivated murders by a a person who used the Confederate flag as his icon has illustrated that fact.

Until neutral people see the linkage in such a way, they are going to see it merely as free speech. :grr: According to our Constitution, that right is protected. Therefore, the action of taking down the flag has to be voluntary. Sad that it has to be such a tragic act for people to finally get their asses in action. :(

There are other problems with the Constitution, too. Which rights trump other rights?

In the States the issue comes up repeatedly. It's not like this is the only time that thought has been given to the issue. It's just that these circumstances bring the matter to more prominence.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products has one licensee producing die-cast replicas and vehicle model kits featuring the General Lee with the confederate flag on its roof–as it was seen in the TV series. We have elected to cease the licensing of these product categories.
At the time the “Dukes of Hazzard” premiered in 1979 on CBS-TV, the placement of the Confederate flag and the naming of the 1969 Dodge Charger driven — and often flown — by Bo and Luke Duke after the South’s most famous general drew few if any protests, a state that persisted through the end of its original run in 1985. The show was based in part on the real-life exploits of bootlegger Jerry Rushing, who had named his old Chrysler “Traveler” (with one “L”) after Lee’s horse.

Only in recent years has General Lee’s Confederate flag, and its associations with the defense of slavery and white supremacy in America, drawn more backlash. In 2012, Warner Bros. shot down rumors that it was removing the flag from the car, and fan clubs where replicas gather remain adamant in their display of the original.

Matt .. if you have not done so already, you might ask your DR about Clonazepam .. a low dose of 1 or 2mg .. I've used it for years in order to help regulate my sleep cycle (well, in all honesty, I also use other things) .. however, a low dose Clonazepam will get you to sleep, quiet the voices in your head and take the edge off the next day .. not to say you have voices in your head .. ;)

Torey .. congrats on your Ambulatory success .. each time I had a heart attack, I actually drove myself to the ER .. I was only 3 minutes away from the ER, I chewed a couple full strength aspirin the first time (if anyone experiences symptoms, chew the aspirin don't just swallow) .. I now have a nitro capsule pendant I wear all the time and refresh the nitro about every 3-4 months since it will go stale quickly .. :)

We men can be stubborn ..

This country still has a university named for a man who once said that interracial marriage should be
Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses: vol.10 p. 110: (March 8, 1863)"Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so.

I am so glad that it turned out well. Next time, he might not be so lucky. That needs IMMEDIATE attention. We are not talking about a druggie with a hangnail, here. Might be best that if it happens again, tell him that you will call an ambulance, and follow through.

And your personal liberties, privacy, and self determination will be as good or better than the nursing home. And the staff will probably be just as caring and more helpful and attentive.

(Who me, upset and bitter? But the experience does encourage working extra hard at physical therapy to try to get out soonest.)
