A few thing's I want to chime in on,
The confederate flag was not a symbol of slavery! The civil war was fought between those who wanted States rights vs. Fed rights. Whether states had more say in their governance or would they cow down to the fed gov. People think there were no slaves in the north, their wrong. Slavery was on it's way out in the south anyway too expensive. Slavery was the emotional propaganda used to incite young men to fight and die. This is a tactic used in all wars. Most slaves were sold to the Dutch traders by their own African rival tribes after they were concurred by rival tribes. I've studied the history. And you don't beat the sh...t out of someone you just paid the cost of a good car for if you want them to be able to work. My Great Grandmother and her "kitchen" girl fought off 4 confederate soldiers with frying pans and kitchen knives to save a union soldiers life from hanging in their tree.Other then novels and hollywood must "Slave's" were permitted families and decent housing and food and stayed on the farms even after they were freed. So the south lost the war due to atrocious act committed by union forces. Now look at where we are, A Fed. Gov. answerable to nothing but money. Disney was force to pull "Song of the South" Not because it showed a young boy being influenced in a positive way by Uncle Remus's stories but because it showed slaves. Bier Rabbit was a childhood favorite of mine. MLK did not want his people to be en slaved by Gov programs He want an equal right to be educated so they could achieve their own place. If only people would listen to what he said instead of what they wanted to hear. And calling yourself "African- american " is just building a higher wall . Racism is breed in ignorance not skin color.And if you think that your heritage is Lilly pure you best read up on your heritage. I can't afford to be raciest cause by background is too mixed.

And I hurt like hades cause I'm not as old as I used to be. I just realized I am! 55, lost count of the years. Not that it really matters cause I never grew outa 19. Still a child at heart.
