What the hell is that thing anyway? :w00t:
looks like a mink, but not certain, that snout might be a tad long, but the coloring (minks come in many colors) and head size is right. Looks like the ones I used to wear for ceremonial things, pow wows etc. Wore them as hair ties wrapped with leather laces. Not the greatest photos, but you get the idea

Going through his things when my Father passed.....he'd kept a number of my sketch books filled with drawings, charcoals, pastels .......brought them back with me. When I moved here to PA....gave them to daughter, who dumped them all in the trash :(

That's terrible!! She at least should have asked you if you wanted them back before she tossed them!

Ratty, that was too funny. What a shock! My aunt had one of those. The mouth was actually a clip so they could wear it around their neck at whatever length they wanted. I always wondered why anybody would think it was lovely to wear.

I saw those as a kid, and they were curiosities back then. I don't think there are many around any more. That one looks to be in fine condition.

Is that you??? Very pretty!

I'm thinking it was mink too. We have red fox around here and their face is much bigger. It's one thing to wear one for a ceremony, but women used to wear them when they got all dressed up to go out on the town. I guess that was kind of a social ceremony. I remember asking Mother what she was doing when she put rouge on when got dressed up one night. She said she was "putting her face on". Thought that was so funny.

plug the URL into the wayback and if it's there, they will find it.

Thanks Ken -

'Wayback' came up with nothing for the specific URL

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/groups/mature-vapers-d2211-poems-stories-tales-texas-tumbleweed.html

and when I trimmed the url back to just 'groups'.

Social Group Forums | E-Cigarette Forum

It comes up w/ this cached page - maybe 'you' actually had to be logged into ECF to get the the 'Groups' forum section back them.

Newp, that's not me, was just trying to find a pic of how I wore them, kinda or at least how they're worn.

shame that didn't work mike, thanks for trying, I wasn't sure what to type in or how to search. But....there's still hope, classy and others are working on it for us!

Well this is my collection. (Keep your mouth shut Iffy and UW)

Still undecided whether to give it to my daughter (she likes to attend in period dress big band events) or cut it up and share with my fellow fly tyers. Mink is useful in a number of patterns.

Also have a red fox I skinned, tacked up drying on a board in the garage. It was a fresh road kill I picked up. Didn't want to see it go to waste. Not sure you folks want to see a picture of that, though.

GRRR, you could have at least replaced it with something so I wouldn't go wondering what it was. You know I get lost when I. . . wonder.

I happen to agree with everything you have ever posted and enjoy someone that knows how to express my sentiments since I have a hard time being serious. So express away. . .

Since I could not fully delete the post, I just put in a single word on an edit .. I decided I did not want to go off on a rant regarding gun control, which was where I was headed .. and I am a card carrying NRA member .. as strange as that may sound to some here .. yet, at the risk of alienation, er, no, I'm stopping again ..

I will, however, publicly state I believe I know when your humor carries with it an undertone much deeper than what the surface may say .. that's one of the things I like about you .. o_O :)

On an adventurous dumpster dive, I believe I found said portfolio ... I sent the material to Sotheby's and they were quite impressed .. ;) .. the past inequities can never be undone, unfortunately .. however, if you do not know the Story of Vivian Maier, take some solstice from her ...

I saw a TV program on her. IMPRESSIVE!

The Best Photographer You Never Heard Of .. and I simply despise the dude that "discovered" her material .. he has made a small fortune and to my knowledge never, ever even set up a scholarship fund or grant program in her name ..

Mink? Fox? I say it's a stool softener. bahahahaha Daddy said it matches a stole that she got from her mother. So it is pretty old and it really is in good condition. I asked Daddy why he didn't know what it was made out of but he said it never matched anything he wore. He does think it is mink though. Whatever it is. . . I haven't gone looking through any other drawers.

The dogs got me up a 7 and I laid back down on the couch to finish my nap. Daddy came walking through the house already dressed and said he was ready to go to Walmart. We walked all over that store. (I hate shopping) I could at least keep up with him this time. Usually I have to walk fast because his legs are so long. We had a ball. He bought me some shampoo and soap. I don't have to smell like Old Spice Men's bath soap now. Although I thought I smelt rather good. When well with my elevated testosterone.
girl_haha.gif
And my hair smelled good by using Dawn dishwashing detergent. Hey it said, "It gets the grease out". . . it did.

He did so good this week and never complained once about my cooking. Ate everything I put in front of him. I've really had fun cooking again. It has been so long. He did not get his fried chicken like we normally do on Sunday but he had a BBQ sandwich (3 fries, diet drink). I think that's a pretty good deal. I can't expect him to give up everything.

Thank everyone for the such sweet comments and of course for all your support. You really don't realize how much it helps me to share with you all.

Like Women that Use Old Spice .. Not sure, but willing to sniff
Dawn as Shampoo .. Obviously Effective, Likely Very Little Required, Gets Hair Squeaky Clean Surely, Doubles as Dishwashing Liquid,

I mean, Madge swore by Palmolive ...

Titanium here we come. SX will have new firmware upgrade within the next week or so for titanium wire. Several of the guys on the SX thread are using the Beta test upgrade now and I guess it's supposed to be even better then nickel. I don't know I am really happy with nickel and got it down real good now. Build the same coil as with nickel but a slightly bigger gauge. 5 wraps 3mm .225ohms.

Dishsoap as shampoo will do if you don't have anything else. Only do it once, however, it is too drying. Shampooing your hair with dishsoap maybe once a month is actually good, it cuts through some of the other residues that shampoo doesn't get.

I once did it, was pleased with the results, and tried it the next time, and it was a disaster.
