I am right now re-reading the Dark Tower series.

I suffered twenty-two agonizing years and then 'nother eight years thereafter! Yes, I read 'em as they came out...

Should reread da series because I did enjoy it!

he, he ... sometimes peoples gets what they deserves.

Yep ... the only way it could have been better is if the police officer wrote him 2 tickets ... 1 for illegal parking and 1 for littering.

And 'nother fer obstructed windows!

I don't have a local library. I did sign up for the North Dakota state library, but they don't have a good online browsing system. You pretty much have to know what you want so you can specifically search for it.
At least it is better than nothing. I'm a very avid reader and would be searching for anything worth reading. Astronomy, fly fishing, woodworking, etc. my Kindle is full of a very eclectic collection of reading. My granddaughter was here and told me she was bored. I gave her my Kindle to find something to read. I just about didn't get it back when she went home. On another trip, she got her own a library card.

I did the same thing. When a new book came out I would re-read the prior one so I could remember what was happening. I can't tell you how many times I have read The Stand and L. Ron Hubbard's Battlefield Earth. I could go on and on. LOL

Not hanging out tonight. The Science Channel is having a 1 hour special on the Pluto mission at 9PM. Wouldn't miss it.
It is being re-aired tonight and twice tomorrow. I have my DVR set to record it. I will watch it again with my grandkids when they come up in a couple weeks.

Heh, Battlefield Earth was an amazing and fascinating read. (Massively the opposite of the movie)
I enjoyed it quite a bit also. Even though L. Ron Hubbard was crazy as a loon. Imagine that and 9/10 of Hollywood follows his hallucinations. Says something about Hollywood.

I have a Kindle and really enjoy it. I don't have the Kindle Unlimited, however, my local library offers Kindle books. I just go to their website and download the books at no cost. Just like a regular library book the checkout time is two weeks. There are no late fees and if a book is already checked out I can put it on my wait list and when it is available I am notified via email and can download it. That is how I read all of the Game of Thrones and the latest Stephen King books. I am right now re-reading the Dark Tower series. You might want to check with your local library for a similar program. I love my local library.

I use Overdrive, and have it "connected" to my county library system. On a Win 8.1 convertible, but I believe it's available for other platforms as well. But then again, not all libraries have made it into the 20th century, let alone the 21st!

Our library system uses overdrive, but my computer is firmly in the 20th century. Never got it to work.

Dang good you ended that sentence w/ a face. he, he
Jup!

I use my Paypal Mastercard as a prepaid card by keeping a positive balance on it with money that I transfer from my checking account. There are no fees for a Paypal Mastercard debit card/ credit card.
So how does that work and how do you get it? Is it debit or the credit card. Do you just transfer money into paypal and you can use the card? It takes like 3-5 days to xfr money into PP, but there's no fee for that. Same with the card? Then you can use it even if the place doesn't take PP, but does take CC's?

he, he ... sometimes peoples gets what they deserves.
I do think it was poetic justice, and loved it........right up to the point that the idiot pulled right out in front of another car nearly causing a wreck cuz he couldn't see. Ron White was correct.....you can't fix stupid!

Awww, that didn't come out right, you know what I mean. Yeah, I'm guilty of spending a lot of time on ECF, but I don't tell everyone here EVERYTHING that's going on! (HA!) Plus, FB is linked to all kinds of advertising. I just clicked on an ad for lawn furniture on sale and I'll bet you if I went to my FB page right now there would be ads for it. Probably doesn't bother most people, but I'm weird that way.
lol I knew what you meant, and totally agree with ya............just couldn't help pokin a lil fun at all of us. :)

Debadoo, thanks SO much for keeping us updated on Dancin'. I'm so happy that she is doing well. That's a mighty hefty surgery she had there.

Just popped in to see how everybody is doing. I'm SO struggling to stay awake. Will this night EVER end?? I have hot date with my pillow!!

I have heard and it seems to pan out - if a movie is made from a book always see the movie first. That way you won't be disappointed.

My library also uses Overdrive. I have never read a book on my laptop. I have always used my Kindle. Although a friend of mine uses a tablet and it she likes it.
When have I had the time?????
Hey girl, if you don't take care of yourself how will you be able to take care of everyone else. hehe

Back from the bank, have a new card. I asked about a virtual card but they don't offer it. They do have a prepaid that I could transfer $ to online as I need to use it, but the fees for it were outlandish. $5 per month service fee and $5 per transfer...pass... I'll just stay in the habit of checking the account activity online frequently.
Mastercard has virtual account numbers

1000 times better than the movie!!! Travolta didn't even look like a Psychlo.

Yes, it can be used just the same as any Mastercard CC. It can also be used as a debit card. I can get cash at an ATM with no Paypal fees if I've got a positive balance. If someone sends me money via Paypal I can access the funds instantly at an ATM, the grocery store, or to make a purchase online.

How to get it, go to your Paypal account and apply for it, I think. I've had mine for so long I forget the procedure.

Thanks Dave, will look into this......Will look again or give em a call.

Found it, another question, I know that PP frowns on ecig stuff, have you used it with online ecig vendors that you recall? I did find it, says there is a fee to use it at the atm, and they didn't say it, but of course the atm fee probably, but that's not a big deal really.

Hello, everyone! Sorry, I don't type too well with this little monitor on my finger.

Deb and I kept missing each other's calls yesterday. But, since I'm awake and Deb seems to have gone to bed early, I'll try to give my own report.

Things are moving along pretty well. I may even be going home today. Although, the way I feel right now, I hope they give me one more day.

The doctors and nurses have almost all been very kind and caring. The hospital , a private hospital, has been amazing. And, the nurse practitioner that insisted on walking me over to the ER in the first place has called me a couple of times to check how I'm doing.

Well, the pain meds seem to be finally kicking in. Time to try to grab a nap.
