Heh, I remember Florida. Sun shining, not a cloud in the sky. Step off the curb... black, pouring rain. Get to the other side of the street... not a cloud in the sky again. Weird!

After having ongoing stomach issues I decided to go gluten and sugar free about a month or so ago. I feel better, and I've lost 12 pounds. It wasn't as big an adjustment as I thought it would be, thankfully there are a lot of gluten free choices out there nowadays. I even found a pizza crust mix (Bob's Red Mill) that is pretty darn good, the gluten free pastas I've tried are pretty good too. I do miss a good 'ol slice of garlic bread or a nice hot biscuit, gluten free bread tastes just horrible to me and it's pricey, $5-$6 a loaf. The hardest thing has been giving up my beloved Cokes, almost as hard as giving up the cigs, there's just no substitution for them, I hate diet Coke. I mostly drink flavored sparkling water now.
Great job!!! We have a bakery neary us that sells gluten free millet bread to Chamberlains. Our holistic nurtritionist turned us onto it. It's incredibly soft and light. More like regular bread than any we have tried. We buy four loaves and stick three in the freezer. It's $3.80 a loaf. I gave up the diet cokes when I quit smoking. I was drinking six to eight cans a day, seriously. Now I'm fixing to start brewing my own Kombucha. It's a tremendously great detoxer and excellent for so many things that ail us. I'm planning to do batch brew in a 2.5 gallon container, instead of continuous brew (too much work). I don't trust ceramic glazes (lead, cobalt) and knowing how it works with heavy metals, I am going with a blown lead free glass container. Here's a web site, if you're interested Kombucha | Tea, Recipe, SCOBY, Benefits, What is, How-to I'll keep you posted on my progress. I had a really tough time controlling my blood sugar and getting my fasting under 100mm/dl, until I added a faithful regimin of Kombucha to detox the liver, just a few days ago. Now I'm doing well.

Would really appreciate you guys signing this petition. Apparently Medicare wants to roll back their prostetic care to the 1970's calling the newer better ones a luxury. It is ridiculous but leave it to the govt. If it wasn't for the fact that I have advanced prosthetic feet and ankles I would be walking with a walker or canes instead of the way I do. I am getting so sick of the way the govt does what they want so they can pad their wallets a little more. It is not a luxury to be able to walk. Here is the link:

A long house?
Nope. Small house. Just the way it is down here. Literally raining on one side of the street and sunny on the other. And you can almost set your watch by the 4:30pm thunderstorms. I had forgotten how much I liked that part of growing up.

Did I miss it? Have you moved permanently to FL?

I am so relieved right now! I have one doctor's appointment this Thursday and another next Thursday. I got them mixed up in my head and thought this Thursday was the 20th.

I only have the oxygen machine until about the 24th. The doctor that said she would help figure out how to continue it if I need it I'll be seeing on Wednesday. So, today I tried experimenting to see how badly I still need oxygen and if I'll need to talk to her about it when I see her.

I'm pretty good just sitting at my computer or leisurely wandering into the kitchen to get a drink. So, I decided the next big test would be taking a nap without oxygen. It was a little hard to fall asleep. But, I slept ok.

Until I turned onto my right side. OMG! No way! I woke up in a panic, reaching for the oxygen tube.

I mentioned my concern and my experiment to my daughter a little while ago. Just to be reminded that the appointment on the 20th is NEXT Thursday!

Whew! That was close! I have an extra week to hopefully improve enough not to need oxygen. I know the doctor said she would help and that everything will be alright. I'm just paranoid, just like I am about all things. I panic very easily. (But, I have had the life experiences to teach me to be that way.)
