Well, it won't take me anywhere when I click on this link, maybe not enough posts or something?

Sorry about that, I don't know why you can't get to it. Just follow Iffy's link in post #2576. If you want to find more of Kurt's posts, click on his user name when you get there and it will give you the option. :)

I like to recoil my Kanger styles with silica so I can dry burn a few times, but use cotton yarn for flavor wicks. I tend to wash the whole thing every fill or so, and pull the chimney when I do to see if a dry burn is desired. Flavor wicks get replaced a lot on my porch :)

I was wondering about this; I wanted to try cotton wicking, but, like you, I want silica in the coil for dry burning. Good to know the combo works fine, thanks for posting! :vapor:

Well hello there Lilac. It has been too long since you dropped in to say hi. I hope the world is treating you well.

I'm like you. Been at this for well over 2 years and haven't attempted rebuilding anything. At least I have learned to dry burn to clean :D

Please, don't be a stranger.

Hi, mattiem. I can dry burn, too. :p I am doing well. I hope the same is true for you.

Hello, nice to meetcha!

I just started vaping about 3-ish wks ago, and while I *always* appreciate it when folks give me links for rebuilding, I feel like, hey, I just started here! Give me a minute to catch my breath!! :D

And I don't know WHAT I would have done without all you helpful people the other night when I didn't realize that the coil could come unscrewed along with the base of the tank, and it was acting so strangely and I thought for sure I'd broken it!! AARGHHH! heh.. tonight when I refilled it, the base came completely OFF the coil, even though i always tighten it anytime I take it off... for maybe a second I panicked again... then I just thought, wait, this is because it wasn't just loose, it came unscrewed completely, so I should be able to just pull that out nice and straight... and I did! I felt like giving myself a cheer for not being such a scaredy-twit! :D got it all cleaned up and put back together, and it works like a champ! So maybe in my own time, when I do get to this rebuilding thing, I won't feel *quite* as intimidated about it.

Nice to meet you, Andria. I remember when I first started vaping, I was sure I would never want a mod or the bigger batteries. Now, the bigger, the better. :D We all learn as we go.

hey, I have a question... is the vendor discountvapers.com a reputable vendor? It's always so hard to know, with online folks you haven't done business with before.

thx!
Andria

Discount Vapers is one of my favorites. Eric gives a loyalty discount of 5% after (I think) 3 orders...could be 5 orders...I'm not sure. He has a very good reputation for good CS.

That's VERY cool to know, since I know right now I'm going to make at least 2 orders... getting the replacemnt coils for my T3S, and later, when I'm a little more flush, another T3S or 2, or maybe another T3S and a MT3S. GREAT prices on those!

Thx!
Andria

That's happened to me many times with the T3S... unscrew the base and the coil head is left behind, still in the clearo. I ~think*~ that may be because the bottom of the air shaft on the T3S is "rolled", or fatter on the end than the Protank or Evod... which puts more friction on the little rubber grommet on the coil head. I also ~think~ the fat end is to help keep juice from getting into the air shaft if you fill it to the top.

*(Sometimes when I ~think~ something, it turns out I'm right... but other times? wrong!) :)

I think (y'all stand back, I'ma thinking agin) I have another convert, or as Iffy would say, a v-vert.

Saturday night at a party, a young lady asked me "Didn't you quit smoking using an ecig?" Yes'm, I did... April will be a year now.

"Can you give me some advice on how to use my eCab? As it is, it's just not good enough to help me quit entirely."

I wanted to say "Yeah, toss that thing and get an Evod or T3S" but instead said "Sure, I'll look at it and see what I can do."

She came over yesterday and we sat on the deck for an hour and a half. (weather here was bee-yoo-tee-full!) Before it was over, I'd pulled out most of my "stuff", let her try different devices and juices, answered her questions as best I could, and added a touch of 48mg nic base to her 6mg juice to bump it up a tad. She liked my Cookie Dough juice best (it's better than it sounds like it might be), so I made her a 10ml batch of 12mg since she had an extra unused "tank".

She left happy, and said she would talk to her hubby about getting an Evod starter kit. Been a long time since I bought one of those, so now I only have to find her the best price on one.

She'll be a good "student"... she's bright, she listens well, and she's not afraid to ask questions.

Another one (smoker) bites the dust baby!! Yeah!

Well. They are called flavor wicks because if you remove one, you get more flow to the coil, and the flavor is different.
They were not designed to act as a flow control per-se, it they do. :)

I've rebuilt a lot of these for other people and I don't think I have ever pulled a used one off that wasn't burnt. Try a side beside test on stock coils with the same juice with and without the flavor wick. The flavor wick mutes the flavor in my opinion.

... plus, they were sold out of black, silver, and blue, so I figured others found it as irresistible as I did, and I'd better snap up a red one before those are all gone too! ;)
Once it arrives you need to let us know how that red one tastes ;)

I went in on the $30 MVP V2.0 deal here from a few weeks ago. For those others who did, and other "energy" model MVP owners, what did you think of the iClear 16b that came with it? And does anyone know where to get replacement coils for it? They're unique to the 16b model, the larger 30b uses a different coil and both are different from the top coil of the rest of the iClear line. And you thought the Kanger coil setup was complicated.

Was away for most of the weekend, and tried......and I emphasize 'tried' to catch up last night.

What a wealth of information for anyone who wants to rebuild.........jeez, it even got my antennae up to maybe try it. I've been happy with my set-ups, and admit to resistance, but maybe, just maybe I'll have to invest in a RBA or two just to have around and learn as I go.......at least my mind is open now!

Maybe a R 91 and a Kayfun Lite + and a Sophia if Iffy ever puts a review up.....LOL

Something everyone needs to remember is that is that rebuilding is not just for RBAs you can save a lot of money and get better results recoling your CEx's, iClears, Evods, Protanks, etc. Five minutes of my time is worth having free coils that perform way better than those stock coils.

Thus the name!
They claim that adding or removing changes the flavor, not what that change IS :D
Sneaky little devils, arn't they?

Do you fine folks find yourselves not needing a thing for vaping but find yourself searching online vendors for who knows what? It's crazy but I continue to do it. Over this weekend I spent a few hours doing just that. Lucky for me I found some flavoring to buy... even though I have 22 50ml bottles most are full 30ml bottles 16 of them almost all full and a 236ml untouched. I checked my rebuild box and have 300+ ft of kanthal 25 different toppers and love my current one but it doesn't stop my search. Ho hum

I am sitting here with the morning diet pepsi (I don't do coffee) vaping on the Provari. I stopped on the way home from dropping the hubby off at work and picked it up at the post office.

1st Impressions
1. I was shocked how small and comparatively light it is. After the Vamo and some of my mechs this was pretty unexpected. Even in 18650 mode with a 25mm XL IBtanked sitting on it.

2. The Silver satin is a really nice finish. Smooth but not slippery at all. For once I do not feel like I am going to drop my mod.

3. I know people say you can't tell a difference in the vape but I have to respectfully disagree. I think the 800 chip DOES make a difference. This same tank on the Vamo is a VERY harsh vape at the same voltage setting. Put it on the provari and it is smooth as silk.

I am pretty impressed with this thing.

Cool!

Was just at MadVapes (online :) ) the other day, and they have this going on:
1100mAh VV eGo Battery Kit

Pretty decent for a domestic vendor, and ups it to VV for her. Was getting some other gear and added a couple to have on hand.

Nice you like it so much. I'd hate to think you'd have to change that new avi of yours.
