Todays fail:

Notice the vape is not at smooth as it used to be on the iclear30.. Pulled out the business end of the tank and noticed a lot of gunk in there and be like.. well i got 5 spares so ill stick in a new one. Toss the old one into the bin and grab a new one.. then i noticed a missing part.. The bottom of the tank that was attached to.. yes.. the item that just went into the bin ;/ Good thing that wasnt a big bin to search through.

Also in other news.. got rid of the sigalikes i started with.. gave them to a smoking friend who was a bit curious as how i was off cigarettes for almost two weeks now ;)

A bunch of posts back the questions about cotton vs: silica got me thinking to all the wick material I've gone through on my vape journey. I'll skip over what ever the stuffing in carto's is and list the rest.

  1. Pillow Stuffing
  2. Aquarium Blue Foam
  3. SS Mesh (325 & 400, then 500, then 600)
  4. Silica
  5. Cotton Yarn
  6. Bamboo Yarn
  7. Cotton Rolls/Balls
  8. Hemp (twine & fiber)
  9. DIY Ceramic from Petsmart Aquarium Bubble Stones
  10. FC2000 Ceramic
  11. DIY 60# grit Alumina Oxide Tile Polishing Stones
  12. Nextel XC-116
  13. (bypassed Ecowool and German Ecowool)
  14. and the next best wick just hit the scene yesterday, gotta order me some, ta da = Ramie (Chinese Grass) Fiber

So ncpatches, once you decide on standard coil, micro coil, nano coil, vertical or horizontal coil, dragon coil, or Clapton coil; you'll have plenty of options of what wick material to use.

I think she probably just fainted.

I think ALL of us have tossed out something we needed at some pointin our lives. In my case it was the dongle for pattern card reader for my embroidery sewing machine :p

And I forgot to add this to my previous post. There is a coil calculator (if you want to do all that scientific stuff) that runs in a Web browser. No Excel/Office required. You can find it here: PV Web Apps

Please allow me to apologize, some of us aren't as mechanically inclined as others.

I'll make it a point to ask my questions somewhere else, so as not to annoy you.

Thanks. I'm 3 days smoke-free now. I won't say I never THINK of those cigarettes, but I don't crave them, which, honestly, surprises the hell out of me. If I feel anything even remotely close to a craving, I hit the iTaste; if it's not QUITE satisfying, I crank the voltage or wattage just a tiny bit, to give me a better throat hit, and that seems to do the trick.

The last week I smoked, I gave myself permission to smoke whenever I felt like I really NEEDED to do so; even with the eRoll, quite anemic compared to this iTaste, the only time I ever really felt I NEEDed to smoke was in the morning. I've fixed that now, by having the iTaste in my room with me while I get dressed, so I can vape before I ever even open my bedroom door, and I also increase the nic strength just a little for the first tank. All that seems to be working very well.

My coughing has ALREADY decreased considerably. :thumb: As my lungs get cleaner, I hope that my asthma will also improve, and I won't need to use my inhaler as often.

3 days smoke-free and loving it...
Andria

Way to go Andria! Ya know, you smoked for a very long time, it's gonna be awhile before you don't think of cigs. Almost 3 months for me and I will still occasionally look over to my right, where I always kept them and expect to see them laying there. I just grab my rig and vape away!:vapor:

I liked all your questions Patches!!! It was quite informative and many gave such great answers!!! I lurked through the whole thing and learned a lot!!! Thanks all!!! I hate it when someone sends me to a chart with no other details like that should answer everything!! LOL. I guess I just like all of the personal interaction. After all, I am a recluse!!! :toast:

You go ahead and ask them right here.

You see how many people have thanked you for asking them and are learning from the answers? Seems to me your questions are a good thing!

Thanks guys. I'm sorry, but that comment, along with the 1st one, made me feel like an idiot and just because I don't know how to rebuild yet, certainly doesn't make me stupid, it just means I didn't have the proper information until today.

Thanks to everyone that pitched in with the answers to my multitude of questions. With your help, I feel very confident in my abilities.

Much Love!

Apparently, due to da increase in popularity/demand/traffic, dis thread must be overloading da ECF server and it is cross posting twix da My Way or da HiWay and Your Politics Suck forums (and there's not even a full moon in sight tonight)!

C'mon folk, we're better than that!!!

And, NO! I haven't tested da Sophia yet... GEEEEEZE...

Don't you dare stop asking questions. No matter how basic - actually the basic questions are the heart and soul of this porch IMO, and what makes the thread so popular. ( Well that, and the support everyone gives to each other. )

This is probably going to get me a long vacation from ECF but.......I don't freakin' care. Your questions kicked off one of the most informative question and answer sessions that I have been fortunate enough to be involved in in a long while. The only stupid questions are those that are not asked! To the people who choose to make fun or otherwise try to dissuade you from asking them, they are the ignorant ones. Anybody want to pick a real fight?........,pick on someone your own size.

I am so outta here for real.

I apologize if my previous posts today offended anyone. My intention was to be supportive and point out that rebuilding does not need to be difficult. I am trying to help as best I can and would never intentionally do anything to stop someone from asking questions and getting all the invaluable assistance that is offered here. My sincere apologies. All of us need help at some point in this journey and I only hope that I can offer what little assistance I can. This is a great group, with many supportive members, and I want to be seen as one who of those who is here to help.

It's always hard to read the intent of the poster.

Keep asking questions! This is fun.
With language always "evolving" (somebody please gag me with a spoon) it is tough sometimes to get a message across. After all, bad, rad, ridiculous, sick and tons of other negative words today actually mean "good" things. Go figger.

Jake et al,

Hopefully today was just a lil' warp in our porch time continuum. Or possibly a solar flare lowered our nic levels.

Nonetheless, we are here to receive/give assistance and enjoy da education/comfort/humor of our 'family'.

So, thanx for your earnest response!!!

+1

Myself...I didn't see any sarcasm or malice in Jake's post. I guess it's all how it's perceived by the individual reader. Also, it's been a looooooooooong winter and I know I'm more than ready for a change of pace and weather. It would do me a world of good to see something poke up through the ground that was green.
