I love the new porch with all these new people visiting us :)

Sorry I haven't been around much lately, hubby finally retired last week :) And we're leaving on vacation this Thursday :)

I think I finally decided which vaping toys are going on vacation with me this time. Taking two Vgo's with five 808 cartos and its charger, 3 Ego Twist and two chargers, 510 attys and one PT II with a couple heads, and my new Reo Grand with charger and two 18650 batteries and 510 attys. 120 ml of various e-liquids. I always take much more then I need when we go on vacation but I like to be prepared for the unknown and since I always find myself giving some vaping demos to those that are interested its nice to have a little variety with me. Of coarse who knows which other vaping toys will decide to jump in the bag just before we go out the door Thursday morning :D

KariM- take some ziplock bags with you to put your ecig stuff in when going to the beach and make sure you've got some q-tips and toothpicks to get any sand out of the threads that still manage to get in your pv's from your beach time. We love Jamaica :)

Jake- I usually go through 4-5 ml of e-liquid per day. It all depends on which devices and juice delivery methods I'm using that day.

Have fun on the porch while I'm gone :)

A trick I do with my REOs and traveling

An extra plastic box for 18650s will fit 2 of the 6 ML REO bottles nicely.

When I travel with the REO this is my kit.

incidentally, apart from my Tobacco flavors I picked any others you might recommend?...muchisimas gracias!!!

Yeah, grab a "Cinnamon Roll" with a couple extra flavor "shots" ... yummy
It's also a good idea to get a 50ml bottle of your base.
Base is your preferred PG/VG mix with your perferred nicotine % level (all mixed and ready to go.)
It's handy to have around.
Sometimes when you get to the bottom of your tank, and the juice gets thick and condensed, add a few drops, and it's like new again, instead of sludge.
Also if you think any flavor you ordered is too strong, you can dilute it down.

PS .. any tobacco flavor you order will need to "steep" for a month before it's ready to vape.
He mix's everything fresh, and I steep them all for a least 2 weeks.
Some of the fruits take the least amount of time ... but the tobaccos need it.
If you don't know what you like or haven't tried any from them, order a "sampler".
That way you get a bunch of little guys for a good price, you can try more.
You will find that there will be ones you don't like ... don't throw them away.
Just stash them and a month from now, you will be surprised at the change in your juice, and your taste buds too.

If you don't dig the cinnamon, I'll buy it from ya.
Have fun

'Not as stupid looking as dragging around an oxygen tank"

What's really stupid is watching someone unhook their oxygen tank, so they can smoke a cigarette. :nah:
I've seen it lots of times ... now there's a real "die hard"

After smoking for 38 years I was afraid I'd end up being one of those people. I'll take a tank of juice over an oxygen tank any day!

I take it one step farther. It is easiest to explain with an example.

I buy a 50 ML bottle of juice at 6 mg nic with 5 flavor shots.

when it comes in I pour that 50 mL into a 250 mL bottle
I then add 100 mL of PG
and 100 mL of VG

So one 50 mL bottle makes me 250 mL at just a tad over 1 mg nic which is where I like it anymore :)

One guy at work showed a little interest in vaping then the next day tells me a friend of his got a lung infection from vaping

PG is a germicide that they pumped through the air in hospitals, office building, and old folks homes to stop the spread of germs for years.
Give you a lung infection ??? Why do they use it in inhalers ??
That ol'boy is just shouting how uninformed (stupid) he is .. not worth your time
That's a closed mind your talking too.

My treat

and a big thank you for all the above info as I'm still green with all this Ejuice business. As a matter of fact I've been talking with two individuals, one a metallurgist, the other a vapor enthusiast. I've had in mind an idea for a different take on Ejuice all together that maybe, just maybe I'll turn into a small tiny business. The metal works friend of mine is really into mech mods and we have been talking about creating a prototype mod just for fun...

in any case, I have finally struck pay dirt with my re-buildable single coil.

PC_20140204_022504_zps05d976ae.jpg

Used the new 34g Kanthal and 22mm wick. armed with a wrap calculator and a new Ohm meter, I went ahead and began a five wrap coil on small screwdriver. Tempered it and made sure it was as compressed as possible without any overlaps. First reading on my meter was 0.61Ohms. I was struck by..whaaaaa!...but thought, let me see what my Vamo 3 says. Sure enough, it read 3.9...ummmm

Then I found out what I was doing wrong all along. The atty's were too screwed in, way too tight. By simply untightening a hairline I got 2.6 or there about. But on my vamo it read 3.9...ok...

PC_20140204_022447_zpsa2589252.jpg

now, it vapes like a charm. practically no heat, vape clouds great, and the taste(added some flavor wicks) was good.

The atty can go up to 10-11.5W with no issue, but the sweet spot is found in the volts - about 5.5 - 6

Perhaps I need to get a 32G wire which seems,I assume,to provide that middle ground for any construction.

I then build a two wrap allowing my logic to dictate the ohm's I was after(1.85). Instead I got 2.5...It seems that my ohm meter does not need to be so tight to read the atty, just a simple turn and thats it.

at least a small success story. Im persistent as always until I get what i want, but then again isn't that how you need to live life?..strive and add pressure until that which you want manifests.

happy Tuesday folks and good morning!!!

I'm 53 and found out that vaping is far more fun and more satisfying than smoking. I was wondering if I'm old enough to sit on the porch.

:D:vapor:

Hi and welcome to the porch. So where in PA is your town? Janet and I live about 40 miles from downtown Philadelphia.

Well, I don't have any vapemail on the way. But, those vaping goodies do need to be kept organized. So, I went to Michael's today. Look at all the goodies I got for my vaping supplies!

The clear rectangular box on top is one of ten. That's actually what I went there looking for. I had bought a few of them a couple of years ago, and they turned out to be the perfect size for so very many things and the perfect size to fit inside larger containers to organize all those things. I finally went back to get more.

Then I found this cute little round container that has little 6 compartments containers attached to the sides. Perfect for something to keep my most commonly used stuff in to carry around the house.

And, they had a sale! The big plastic box full of 14 photo sized smaller boxes was 40% off.

I think it's time to rearrange all my vape supplies! For example, some of the little rectangular boxes could hold RBAs (one in each box) and the purple flat box could hold my silica. The possibilities are endless!

I did mention before that I'm a conItainer junky, right?

Me too! :laugh:My favorite place to shop for 'little boxes' and 'stuff' is the Container Store. I always make it a point to go there when we're in Denver visiting our daughter. And hooray! This month the will be opening a store about 20 minutes from us.

So, here's a kinda personal question, but as someone who has been doing this for 6 months, I'm just a bit curious.
How much e-liquid do you folks go through is a week? Is it measured in MLs or quarts :)

I've never really paid attention to it. I have multiple tanks going that get refilled as needed I'm guessing 8-12 ml a day.

in any case, I have finally struck pay dirt with my re-buildable single coil.

Nice, you're getting the hang of it. I'm still 'pondering' the diff Ω reading between your tester and the Vamo. It seems like a big diff. I get a decimal point or 2 diff between my tester and PV's. You might want to try a known factory coil on both the tester and Vamo and see if that shows a significant diff too. Might help you determine if it's the reading on the devices or your coil builds.

Yes... It's strange... But I'm not the only one. Another forum member also experienced a difference between meter and vamo. And yes. I too used as comparison a new authentic kanger coil and the meter along with the vamo gave correct readings. Anyways, I can go up to about 10w or more on a 3.9, but it vapes good. Please provide more suggestions if possible.

You could get a regular volt meter. The kind with the probes. A $25 one will be accurate to check the OhM reading and you can then see if there is a significant difference.

Or.... get your preferred mix of base (70/30, 50/50, whatever) in 0 nic, and get your juice at two or three times your preferred nic, with appropriate extra flavor shots, and mix down with the base to your desired nic. E.g. 2 parts 0 nic base and 1 part triple shot 18 mg gives single shot 6 with normal flavor. (Again for example, 100 ml 0 nic and 50 ml 18 mg gives 150 ml at 6 mg.)

basically the same process. I just always have PG and VG around from doing DIY of all my other juices ;)

For the first almost 2 years of vaping, I wouldn't have been able to answer that question because I would jump from flavor to flavor and from device to device so often.

Then, one day when I went to visit my brother (who lives about an hour away), I mixed up a new bottle of juice just that day. Then, I coincidentally used only that one bottle of juice for the next week. I used 20 ml that week. However, I was dripping with a 306 the whole time. So, I might use twice or more the amount using a different setup.

I've heard someone in here talking about wood mods. I saw this and thought I'd share a good deal with ya in case anyone needs one.

Very nice. I wonder why it's so cheap.

I'm afraid to go in there. I may never come out! Well, maybe if I leave my credit card at home? Then, I could just snap pictures of what I liked with my phone. That way I could take my time and fantasize for a while before buying?

I'm the same way in a bookstore. It's usually best if I have them hold something up front for me. Otherwise, I'll be there a minimum of 4 hours (That's how long it takes for me to get a headache and need to leave.).

I saw a thread about a month ago about people have irregular readings on their ohm-meters. They were thinking it may have to do with how tightly they screwed their atties. But, they left it up in the air.

Since then, I've been wondering if I should get one or not. Maybe I should just get a Vamo or MVP2 instead? They both check resistance without firing, just like a meter does.

I did buy a volt meter. The readings are all over the place. And, I'm talking about when I just touch the probes together to zero it out! I'm not good with machines. I was going to take my meter with me when I visit my brother next (which hasn't been very often lately). He should be able to tell me what I'm doing wrong, or if the meter is just bad or something. Maybe it needs a new battery?

basically the same process. I just always have PG and VG around from doing DIY of all my other juices ;)
And, it's a whole lot cheaper that way. Especially if you buy PG and VG by the gallon.

Myrany said:
my ohm meter is always within .1 of my vamo no matter how much I screw the atty in. I wonder if it isn't just a variance in quality of devices.
Which meter do you have? As I remember, the meter they were discussing was one that read both voltage and resistance.
