Background first...
Just came back to vaping after having slid back to analogs for about 9 months. Picked up a bunch of different tanks. These things weren't around the last time I did any serious hardware purchasing. Also got a Vamo V5 and SID because I'd given up on the eGo t (think that's the right name, it was the first tank style for the eGos) and CE2 or 3 with the crazy needle needed to fill. And don't get me started on the blue foam/tea bag/filler of the week games that went with using traditional atomizers.
I got an Aspire BDC, Smok carto tank, Smok RBC and Kanger ProTank 2 mini. The RBC are nice and cheap and look to me like a cheap plastic copy of the PT2 mini. Vape is decent although I've found that the juice has gotten caramelized by the time I finished a tankful. The PT2 mini is so much nicer, the vapor stronger and with a cleaner taste that's consistent from full to empty. In the big tanks I find I prefer the taste from the Aspire over the carto tank, although I've never really liked cartomizers instead preferring atomizers. I guess I know where I come down on the whole "is a glass tank necessary" issue. Regardless, all have been working fine for me for 2 weeks with no leaks and way less hassle compared to my old gear. I'm vaping at between 5W to 7.5W since I find higher power just provides less taste then starts to taste burnt to me.
I really liked teaberry as a flavor so hunted down a company that offered it since it wasn't offered by the one I used to purchase it from and that's how I found Mt Baker Vapor. When I stopped vaping, after 2.5 years I still had issues with not tasting well so I ordered all my e-liquid at 18mg nic 65/35 (since I do like vapor) and 3 flavor shots. Not sure if the mixture and/or strength play any part in my issues.
Now the questions...
Although I really like the mini ProTank 2, I seem to use juice in it at rate at least 2x as fast (perhaps even 3x) compared to any of the other tanks I've gotten. The RBC and Aspire seem about the same with the carto tank the slowest rate (with a corresponding drop off in flavor and vapor). I know there are other PT2 mini users out there, do you see a similar juice consumption? The Aspire and RBC usage rate is comparable to the rate I used juice with my old equipment so the higher rate with the PT2 mini concerns me, both in terms of cost and nicotine dosage, hence my asking. Vamo, SID or eGo batteries don't seem to effect the high consumption rate.
Having decided that my old gear, the eGo T, CE2/3, atomizers and cartridges aren't necessary to me anymore, is there a good home I can send these to or is it just the trash for them? I know I can sell my bottom feeders like the Reo and Phidias in the classified forum but I've spent enough on these others to hate to just toss them in the trash.

You know it's hard to suffer STUPID and that person is exactly that...just accepting stupid from someone about something neither knows a twit about. I could be Politically Correct and call the person ignorant, but that's another of my hard to suffer items. But, maybe that's no secret.
I've found anti-vaping feelings a lot among smokers who either don't want to quit or don't think they can quit. So convincing themselves that vaping is bad for you or isn't quitting allows them to not feel bad that they haven't quit. One guy at work showed a little interest in vaping then the next day tells me a friend of his got a lung infection from vaping and no way in hell would he do it as it's worse for you than smoking and I should quit vaping.
Me - the doctor specifically told him it was from vaping?
Him - yes
Me - what tests did the dr run to determine this?
Him - I don't know
Me - how old is your friend?
Him - I don't know (really? great friend)
Me - were his lungs already compromised from something else?
Him - No clue
Me - where did he get is vape juice - was it made in the US?
Him - No idea
Me- did he have an allergy to any of the ingredients?
Him - don't know
Me - can you ask your friend this, please, as I'd really like to find out?

Kind of makes you wonder about his 'FRIENDS'...I'd be real cautious around this guy, he may have some worse dreams than the 'FRIEND'LY kind.
Yes, the study on PG was done way back in the '40s and you are correct about the germicide...widely known and widely ignored to persuade the uninformed. But, the problem in the vape industry is that too many of us allow the uninformed mentality to flourish...their worst nightmare is to spout that B.S. with in my hearing distance. Unfortunately, at my age and experience, my hearing distance is short.
Not too tight on the Vamo, either. It will do the same.
That confused me...what part am I missing in that statement. (I may be old, but I'm Slow).
Get some needles (different sizes) blunt the end and wrap the coils. It sounds like the screw driver is too big to acheive the ohm's that you are seeking. I get my needles at the local feed store...very cheap and very effective. You can also take a small block of wood and make a jig for wrapping with...makes the whole thing a lot easier.
Use a drill bit small enough to keep the needle tight in the block. Get the 'Tee Nut' at your local hardware...I'm using 6/32 'Tee Nuts' and 1/2" 6/32 machine screws. You may want a different size for those, but it's a good size IMHO.
Someone here at ECF is selling a more sophisticated metal coiling block that comes with about 5 different sizes, but this is a lot cheaper and the wait factor can be determined by how quickly you get to the store and back.

Try Radio Shack for a descent Volt Ohm meter about $20. Mine shows about .2 ohms more than the Vamo and .1 more than the Zmax mini.
Have the PT2 mini, among others, and haven't noticed that. Although it is the smallest capacity topper I have. It's only 1.5 ml, so maybe that's what's throwing you off?
Some people just don't want to know what they don't know. Yep, best to save your breath for someone who is actually curious.
I'm 53 and found out that vaping is far more fun and more satisfying than smoking. I was wondering if I'm old enough to sit on the porch.

So, here's a kinda personal question, but as someone who has been doing this for 6 months, I'm just a bit curious.
How much e-liquid do you folks go through is a week? Is it measured in MLs or quarts
The rule of thumb is however much juice you go through in a week is the right amount for you. For me, depending on a lot of variables I probably average 6 mls a day so 42 mls a week.

The comments I usually get are about the nicotine (never have heard mention about the thousands of other chemicals). Smoking = nicotine and that's very, very bad for everybody within a 1 mile radius so if there's nicotine involved in eCigs that must obviously equal smoking. Some people will never hear any explanation because their minds are already made up. I save my breath for people who are curious. I am heartened by the fact that despite all the efforts to demonize vaping, the industry is growing like gang busters. Enough people are finding out for themselves how it has benefited them. It reminds me of prohibition and how well that worked.

Me too. For lack of a more detailed description, I wonder if it's complete/ready to use, or if it has no "guts" and meant for a DIY'er to finish? Noticed two of the ones pictured don't have a 510 connector.
.....I saw a thread about a month ago about people have irregular readings on their ohm-meters. They were thinking it may have to do with how tightly they screwed their atties. But, they left it up in the air.
My Vamo and digital multimeter read differently also. (sometimes... depending on how I hold my mouth.

eta: My "coiling tool" is a 1/16th drill bit, "drilled" into a pencil, eraser end (longitudinally). Hold the tail of the wire to the pencil cap (metal part) with left thumb, wrap with right hand.

I just got off the phone and had to let y'all know. My older sister (tashababy to some-Pauletta to others) has been smoke free for 1 full year today. Even more than that, she seldom even vapes anymore. She picks it up occasionally just for the flavor. I am doing the happy dance for her.

My wife started vaping (finally!) two Sundays ago, and hasn't touched a cig. since! And she has a whole unopened pack that I bought her before I found out she was serious. She's had her moments, but hasn't opened it yet.
I started her on menthol (well, 10 drops of Koolada in 10ml), but she asked about other flavors last weekend. I don't have much for flavors, yet, so made her some Cappuccino and she LOVES it!

I have been following you and your wife's journey and was doing the happy dance for both of y'all when she finally decided to give up the smokes and give vaping a chance.
For those like me who do not have a numbers pad on your laptop, you can hold control and shift down and type a lower case u, let up on everything, then type 2126. When you space the little Ω will be there. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
