Pretty much anything that takes seperate batteries is a mod.
Mechanical mod has no electronic components.
I call my provari a mod, as well as my chi you.
Provari is not a mech mod.

They work great with no problems of safety as long as you arent rebuilding. No difference really than an ego battery imo. But i do understand, dont be afraid though. The dangers lie in rebuilding coils and going to low.
I use mine with cartotanks.
I dont own the svd so i cant comment on it![]()
I have thought of trying the diver, and the sophia!
I have done some building on rda and so far i dont like the way it vapes so i changed my mind for now.
I am probably the only person around who doesnt think rda's taste better than cartos tho lol.
Have you all seen the emax? It is like the spinner but it has vv and vw!
I would think that one would become popular to the spinner fans.
I prefer the itastevv3 because its digiital and i had a hard time reading the voltage on my spinner. Especially in dim light

I have not had this happen myself... Maybe because I only use 5% spearmint?
That's partially true.I don't know how accurate it is, but I read somewhere that when vaping first started and people wanted bigger and better batteries they used the casings for flashlights and "modified" them to turn them into vaporizers and that's why they're called mods. Again, that could just be a rumor, but it is a cute story, lol...

There are still subforums for battery mods, atomizer mods, and tank mods. We called anything a mod that was a change, no matter how slight, from the normal cig-alike/cigar-like kits. If you used a straw or a teabag in your cartridge instead of the original foam, that was a mod. If you put a battery in a tube, that was a mod.
Some people insist that mod means that it's modified from it's original purpose, like changing a flashlight into an ecig. But, to a lot of us it's always meant that it's a modification/change from the original design/kits that were sold as ecigs.
I actually wouldn't mind finding a better term than mod. But, I hate the term Advanced Personal Vaporizer because it's so incredibly inaccurate and feels so contrived.
MissMcBV - That's not a rumor - when I 1st came to ECF the 'modding' forum was full of folks making 'mods' from AA flashlight tubes and copper plumbing pipe.
Dancing - I agree, don't like the APV term, particulary now that most APV's aren't 'advanced' considering what's on the market. ECF actually brought that term about trying to distinguish the higher end electronic PV's from 'mods' (stuff people were making themselves) and basic stuff like cig-a-likes and eGos.
