Well, the cranking doesn't seem to work well with this flavor; in fact I'm starting to give this flavor the hairy eyeball, it tastes so GOOD in the eRoll, but not so much in the iTaste. I've seen some people complain about a "celery" or vegetation kind of taste, and that's kind of what I'm getting. It's a bit disappointing. :( But, what I could maybe do is head back to Steam Cigs, get some more of that Oak Barrel Cider in zero-nic to mix with the 18; I tried putting a few drops of the OBC in the Virginia and the greater sweetness does seem to help, but not enough.

I've got some sweet flavors coming, probably tomorrow; a Green Apple, and a chocolate flavor called "Geneva" from Crystal Canyon Vapes, so maybe the sweet flavors will do better.

It's all experimental now.:) You'll find what's good to you.

I've found that even using the same battery, every tank or clearo that you use, makes it taste differently. I can have the same juice in 4 different clearos and they will all taste different.

Exactly

I LOVE my DIY Watermellon in my Kayfun clone but absolutely hate it in an EVOD.

I LOVE my DIY mint candy in my REO but hate it dripped on my IGO-L

I haven't found anything I like at ALL in my AGA-T2s

My DIY Peach Rings is great in the cartos for an 808D and awful in a protank

You sort of learn what you like in what and just keep those devices filled with what works.

There is no universal "code" that is shared between manufacturers that spells out what various letters mean for batteries. Often, the letters are used to show additional materials used in addition to lithium, but even then, the same letter can stand for one thing in one manufacturer's line and a different thing in another manufacturer's line.

Often-given advice is to avoid any battery and any charger that has "fire" in the name. All I can say is that I have had no trouble with my Trustfire charger. I only know enough about batteries to know that I know very little, and in my opinion there's a lot of superstition and many exaggerated tales around, some of which I'd swear comes from people who know even less than I do.

That said, so many people have done so well with certain batteries that if you want to minimize any chance for risk, I don't think you could possibly go wrong with those batteries. Efest and AW are among those tried-and-true brands. Personally, I like as many milliamp/hours as I can get. I have Panasonic, Samsung and LG high-capacity batteries that work great for me.

Thank you. I'm going with the Panasonic and Nitecore charger. Have everything in my 'cart' and just waiting till after the 1st. No vape budget left for this month.

Oh yeah and nothing tastes like it does in a dripper. Found that out when I started DIY, using a little 510 for juice testing. It would be wonderful! Then I'd fill up a clearo and it would be entirely different. Burnt my ... like a 3 foot flame!

I will.. and I'm sure I'll have a bajillion questions, so I better go subscribe to that forum, too! (Now that I know how! :D )

I smoked my last cigarette this morning, I am determined on that. I even took a picture of the stubbed-out ...., so I can always remember how filthynastyYUCKY those things are! (the ashes in the ashtray!) When I smoked the 2nd half of yesterday's, last night, it tasted so foul it nearly gagged me, so this morning, I went ahead and smoked the whole thing. What the hell -- that is OVER!

Ken in your hammer pictures...specifically the last and longest one.

Rotate the device 90 degrees couterclockwise so the button is under the pad of your index finger. Cup the device from underneath letting the rest of your fingers fall naturally around it.

My comfy way of handling it.
It digs into my palm when I do that. No fun.

I've got it set on its lowest setting, as far down as I can take it, and the Virginia just doesn't taste good in it --
The advice folks gave to stick with vw and ignore the vv setting is good but in cases like yours where you're at the extreme, switching to vv may get you slightly beyond the vw limits, either higher or lower. Try your tobacco at the 3.3 V (or lower, don't know the limits of the device) setting.

Further to the kick in the hammer... It works! Give me a few min to get pictures

Got the pics:
Here is how it works. You have to use the small extension tube on the atty part, not the button part.

Closeup shows that some threads will show, but that is ok

Smoktech aro's?

Yeah they seem to be about the most reasonably priced pyrex tanks. And I'm so tired of waiting for MadVapes to get the black and silver ones back in stock, I'm just going to order the dark red one.

Hmm, I think that's really hopeful news... maybe with a different clearo this Virginia would taste ok in the iTaste? Is there any particular kind of clearo that most folks agree is *really good* without being *really expensive"? I see so, sooooo many of them on the various sites, but of course have no idea, no frame of reference for judging what's good and what's... well maybe not *crap*, but maybe not as good as others.

I just ordered a couple of new flavors, from ECBlend, since I like their $2.50 5ml size.... they're real good about putting a warning on their flavors that are known to crack tanks, and I got "Cinnamon Tobacco" and "Cinnamon Apple", and neither had the warning; so maybe it's not the kind of cinnamon "redhot" that cracks tanks. The reviews on the Cinnamon Tobacco sounded pretty good, it might be somewhat similar to the taste of this Virginia, but with a more pronounced cinnamon flavor, which would be great. :thumb:

Tomorrow is payday, so I'll be out and about in the truck instead of stuck at home; I might cruise by that B&M I like the best and see what kind of tanks he might have. Nice about this iTaste, taking either eGo or 510 threading. :D

That's very useful, info, thanks!!! I knew I didn't want to just "retire" the eRoll, I like it too much for that, and I love this Virginia, so if nothing else, the eRoll becomes my "Virginia vaper"! :D

I hope some of the new flavors do alright in the iClears, though; I'd hate it if I spent to get the full starter kit, and then couldn't use the iClears at all.

Someone correct em if I am wrong but I think the iClears are top coils. Which means a warmer vape. The eroll is a bottom coil which is cooler. That MIGHT be the difference you are sensing. Also in a top coil you usually need to tip and twirl the device to get juice up to the top where the heating coil is or you will get dry hits.

Looks like the lowest v setting is 3.3, which is where it's set; the lowest w setting is 6, and it's set to that.

One thing I did wonder about; when I started playing with it, I discovered that the default w setting was "8" -- is it possible that using that higher setting just kinda "burned" that particular tankful of juice? If I put more in it, and made SURE that the lowest settings were set on both, might it be better? Because I noticed that after I set it down to 6, the vape *did* get a bit cooler. So much to learn!!! :p

I know you guys are probably sick of hearing all my vagaries, but it's really, REALLY helpful to have any kind of support group at all, with this quit-smoking thing. Maybe that was why I never could succeed before, had nobody around that had been thru it and understood what it's like, just a bunch of insensitive a-holes going 'well, just QUIT already!'

Andria
I've read thousands of posts in this thread and its ancestor, and I'm a relative newbie! I don't know of a more congenial and more helpful group in this world than the people who end up frequenting these parts. You needn't worry about too much (or too little) detail, or about having a zillion questions. People come, go, and come back again. As long as you want to be here, you are completely welcome!
