I know what you mean. Once they grow up you have to take every opportunity you can to see them!!! Gotta love our kids. I think its a phase that they grow out of later though. At least I keep hoping. :p

Grow out of it? He's 38, I think he's done growing. He's just doesn't seem to have an extra minute any more, with business, new gf, etc. He does call me just about every day, so I can't complain.

Just noticed you're in Durham, Hiya neighbor!

I get my nic in vg because vg seems to be a bit more expensive than pg, save a few cents

last stinkie October 15, 2013
careful with the VG nic. A friend at work got some and stored it in a dark cabinet, but it spoiled before he had gotten half-way through it. Don't know if it will separate in the freezer, but with the nic in it, it shouldn't ice up.

What a great thread, I love these story's.!!!!

Welcome to the porch!! Ignore the carpentry comments... It's a virtual porch and is ALWAYS just the right size!

Me too, I think I'll read some more of my book on the tablet and then turn in.

I got a question for the DIYers: If I vape 50/50 juices, is it logical to order nic in a 50/50 base? I've read through some of the stickies in the DIY forum and read some blogs but I can't really find an answer. Wouldn't I then add additional pg and vg bases in equal amounts to my desired nic level to keep the juice at 50/50?
Not reading ahead yet to the 100 or more posts that follow yours since I last visited this thread only a few hours ago:
If you want 50/50, then order nic juice in a slightly higher VG percentage, like 60/40. That's because flavorings are generally (but not always) in a PG base rather than a VG base.

Well I admit I know very little about this, having just started; but despite my own prejudice against the bigger PVs, you guys are convincing me that I need to be setting aside a bit of the money I've saving NOT smoking, and save up for one of these more expensive PVs; I particularly like that you can replace in the battery in one of those Provaris, and I definitely need to be reading up and viewing vids about this rebuilding thing. I don't recall who pointed it out last night, but I was glad to learn that this kanger T3S has a rebuildable whatchamacallit; I can fix my ignorance, but it's hard to fix something that has to be just thrown away and replaced after a certain time or amount of use.

And as much as I'd love to dwell in rose-colored optimism, the financial crisis of the past 5-10 yrs has absolutely convinced me of politicians' and big businesses' utter and unyielding stupidity and venality. In the absence of a complete revolution, I better learn to be self-sufficient in my vaping, before those total f'ing idiots try to take it away.

Thoroughly disgusted by the "leadership" of this country...

We have another thread at http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/lounge/520776-older-folks-vaping-back-porch-part-2-a-17.html for non-vape-related stuff. I'd be happy to get on my left-wing pinko soapbox there to try and straighten out you Tea Party (excuse me) nuts. This thread is supposed to stick to vaping topics. Generic bashing of the current Presidential Administration and criticism of gun control efforts does not meet that benchmark.
Guess I'll try to put a new canister/coil unit in my iClear 30S and see if I can bump up the power level on my graham cracker juice without getting a harsh taste.... (vape-related info).

Update on Ma-ma's vaping adventure.. It "makes her cough". (mild tobacco and mint, 8 mg.....at least she didn't add body rash, seizures and heart arrhythmias to the list of complaints, as I expected...) but..I'm all like.. "and combusting paper and tobacco hasn't made you cough for the last 50+ years?" Oh Lord j-hee-zus. She will be puffin' a Kent Lite in her coffin, if I know her as well as I think I do. My mom...My prime reason for starting the stinkies, and for quitting. My dad is going to try to keep her vaping as much as she is willing. I guess less ciggies is the new goal here.

For your information, that WAS vape related, and I was not referring to the president, I was referring to those ninnies in congress, who may someday soon try to pass laws that bear directly on vaping and those who enjoy it. Not sure why you think I'm a "tea party nut", because neither I nor my opinions have one iota to do with the "tea party."

Seeing as the moderator here didn't object or scold, and 4 others gave it a "like"... what's your problem?

Political opinions do not belong here except insofar as they specifically relate to vaping. The thread was once shut down due to getting too far off topic. No need for that happen again, since there is a thread in The Lounge where we can hash out political differences to our hearts' content. My problem? I ain't got no problem. Vape on, but discuss gun control and your opinions of the meaning of the 2nd Amendment elsewhere! Like I said, I'll be more than happy to dispute your opinions in The Lounge!

Easy guys this is a friendly porch. No need for ruffled fur.

Takes a vape puts her feet up and growls about lazy postmen and a late provari.
A postman who doesn't do what the regulations require is not necessarily lazy. In fact, he may be a management darling because he gets his route done early. Management sure isn't going to care about shortcuts taken by the letter carrier, unless there are persistent complaints from customers who are getting the short end of the stick.

Oh the hubby is planning to make a phone call Monday morning and I am going to complain when I go in to pick up the package. From the box to my door is less than 20 ft. le sigh

May I suggest that in addition, you file a complaint through the USPS website at usps.gov? When you do that, a report is generated and the carrier's supervisor or Postmaster has to answer to higher-ups. A complaint filed directly with the local Post Office may be effective, but may also disappear into oblivion with no paper trail.

Heck Id rather do that. My social anxiety hates making waves in person. :)

I have to agree with this. My rationale: VG is Vegetable Glycerin. Anything vegetable-based is organic. Anything organic will go bad over time, even in the freezer.

I use 50/50 for everyday use, so my first batch of nic base was 250ml of 48mg/ml 50/50, because I knew I'd be using it up PDQ. When that was almost gone, I got another one just like it and have used about half of it. But as soon as I could afford it the third batch, for long term storage, is 60mg PG-only and it will stay in my freezer in the original bottle and packaging until vapocalypse. When I get close to running out of the 50/50/48, I plan to just get some more in that ratio until, for whatever reason, I can't get nic base anymore. I also plan to add to my stock of PG-only base until I get several years worth. The feds can kiss my aff.

Agreed.

When I first came to this thread last April, it was soon made clear to me that, since this thread is in the General E-Smoking Discussion forum, the discussion was to be kept to vaping related subjects as much as possible/plausible... although some straying is inevitable. In the Older Folks thread in The Lounge, anything goes.

In anything I do, I try to play by the rules... or stay out of the game.

Unfortunately for me, I don't go to the Lounge thread much, but only because I just don't have the time to keep up with both.

It's a shame that people can't discuss politics without resorting to name calling and having their feelings get hurt. In case you didn't notice big bells calls out another but gets shots in about Tea Party Nuts? You are really limiting yourself if you only surround yourself with like minded people. I am an evil conservative and make no apologies about it. Have you been to a vape shop in a college town? I have a gained a lot of lefty liberal friends recently and I am richer man for it. Chill out, have a vape, and let it go.

Hey folks, It's my first post in this section so be kind.
I'm not only worried about big brother trying to remove our vaping enjoyment but also taxing it like cigarettes. I quit smoking not only for the health benefit but 9 bucks a pack was crazy. I did understand the burden that cigarettes put on health care and accept the fact that those taxes were supposed to offset those cost. It seems now the government is going to try to recoup lost revenue on us again for no reason and no proof. Well I have much more but I can assure you it will go into a larger rant and I think everyone knows where it's going. Anyway hello everyone!

Hi and welcome to the porch Legolas. Pull up a rocker and make yourself comfortable here.

What are co ops?

Now! Back to vaping...been looking at RBA's and have no clue. Between Kayfuns, Russians, Aquas, etc etc...why one over the other? What's the difference between using a cotton wick and a SS mesh?

Someone help me out here, I really want to add one to the cart. My CC doesn't want me to, but....

I'm not real familiar w/ the Aqua's but there's not much difference between the Kayfuns and Russians. These are among the new 'top feed / vacuum feed' rebuildables. It's said that the Russian was brought to market by one of the original designers of the Kayfun. That's why the are so similar in design and function.

Any KAyfun/Russian experts out there?

I am trying to figure out why all of a sudden this dang thing gives me nothing but dry its for the first half of the tank and is then fine for the last half.

I have not done a darn thing to the build that was working great. It just all of a sudden decided to mess with me.

Yep I forget who said it - but overfilling is a likely problem.

What a great thread, I love these story's.!!!!

Welcome nobutts - glad you found and like the stories here. Everyone has one - what's yours?

SO what do you think guys? A very kind ECFer made me a new Avatar!

Looks nice Myrany - for a moment I though you were another new person stepping onto the porch.

sounds like you mom is trying g to inhale directly into the lungs!
Tell her she gets better flavor if she just draws it into her mouth first, THEN BREATHES IN

Announcements - General E-Smoking Discussion
Looks like they are going to start reinforcing the 2010 rule that if you quote a post that offends the TOS, you get batted down just like the original poster.
I think I have been guilty of that once or twice so gotta watch my step!
