I forgot to add, I also got some other e-juices today, which were a little more promising than the ersatz Virginia. These were from ECBlend -- Cinnamon tobacco; not bad, but really, really light tasting; think it just needs a short time to age, and let the flavors come out. Also, Cinnamon Apple, which is not a tobacco, but strangely, tastes more like my good Virginia, than the ersatz Virginia did! Worst comes to worst and I run out of the good Virginia, I guess i can vape the Cinnamon Apple.

Also -- I discovered yesterday that myfreedomsmokes has the Virginia I like, in the *VG* blend. So I might order 15ml of that, to mix with what I have left of the PG Virginia. Gotta be better than nothing, or craving a smoke. Actually I might just get 10ml of that, since I'm sure it probably tastes a LITTLE different from the PG blend; better not to get too carried away until I know for sure if I like it. The only problem with that idea is that MFS doesn't offer regular first-class mail shipping at all; their cheapest shipping is $5.95. So I dunno.

*sigh*

Dancing did you have any luck in the classifieds?
Yes, I did!

Nov. 2011 I was at my Dr. He showed me my chest x-ray and told me I HAD to quit smoking and I had emphysema. . . . . . . I was back at the Dr this morning. Had another lung capacity test and it was normal...normal. I smoked for 40+ years and have been vaping 27 months.

Is vaping worth it? I think so. Vape on, everybody. :vapor::D
Now, that's a testimonial! Emphysema was always my greatest fear. I was sure it was going to happen to me, until I found e-cigs.

That is awesome!!! Way to go lilac!!! I know you feel a whole lot better to! I do. I don't get winded like I used to. Last year was a big change for me. Quit smoking for ecigs in Feb 2013 and then in August I had Gastric Bypass surgery. I weighed 360lbs. in August. I now way 267lbs and I'm still losing 1-2 lbs a week. I feel so much better!!!
Wow! Total life transformation! Exciting, and scary!

One day at a time, you will get through this! You must have done something right to have a son like that.

This might get a little long, but I have a testimony...especially for you newbies and anyone on the fence about to vape or not to vape.

Nov. 2011 I was at my Dr. He showed me my chest x-ray and told me I HAD to quit smoking and I had emphysema. He gave me a prescription for one of those inhaler things...I don't recall the name. I decided not to fill the prescription and instead, drove to Walgreens and bought a Blu disposable. My feeling at that time was "this just has to work" or I'm in trouble, cause I cannot quit cold turkey.

With that first puff, I knew I could give up cigarettes as long as I could vape instead. The Dr had me take one of those breath things that measures lung capacity. I did not do well.

I was back at the Dr this morning. Had another lung capacity test and it was normal...normal. I smoked for 40+ years and have been vaping 27 months.

Is vaping worth it? I think so. Vape on, everybody. :vapor::D

Fantastic! I can relate to that, didn't take long for my lungs to start functioning better. Less coughing, etc. feeling better I knew back when I started with Green Smoke I could do it, but took me another year to make the decision to quit. Glad I did and I sure hope Big Brother don't mess things up for us and so many who have not made the switch yet. Cheers to you! :toast:

Wow, congrats on the weight loss, too! I know that with the quitting smoking has made a great improvement in your self esteem, too. Way to go! :toast:

That is just great, Lilac!! I am so pleased for you, your health, and your family - they get to have you around a lot longer than they probably thought, when you were still smoking. :) :thumb:

It gives me great hope for my own asthmatic lungs too -- my asthma has never been very severe, and I always cheated before seeing the doc, taking 3-4 puffs off my rescue inhaler and coughing up a lung to make sure they sounded clear when he listened to them. :) But yesterday, my 6th day smoke-free, I woke and was completely baffled that my lungs DIDN'T sound like a waterpipe, and didn't feel like I'd huffed a bag of cement the night before. I can tell a slight decrease in my need for the inhaler, also. :thumb:

I'm sure we all thought, at some point, that the cigarettes would kill us, in the end, and the end wouldn't take as long arriving as we'd have wished. But now -- !!! We might just make it!!! :D

Andria

So glad you are sticking with the program...great job! I seen in an earlier post that you got 'Hubby's" attention. Sometimes guys need a little wake-up call. HEHEHEHE!

:toast: To your continued success!

Hi all! Won't reply to you individually because it was several pages back.

Washington legislation and Mt Baker Vapor, I'm doing my share tweeting every day, are you? We should all be doing whatever we can, even if all we can do is tweet. I have no $$ to pitch in for CASSAA, although I would in a heartbeat, so all I can do is tweet.

My FT order hasn't shipped yet, but I am so excited about receiving it even if they are all clones.

Glad to see Lilac finally got back in under the correct account. YAY!

As for me. Had a long talk with son, who refuses to let me move to FayetteNAM and live in the hood. He's obligated himself to $300 a month and if I can get on EBT, just might make it until my settlement. I can't tell you how much I friggin hate the idea of having to depend on my son to survive. I really can't put that into words without cussing a 'blue streak'. It's ok for your kids to owe you $, it's ok to help them out when they need it, but it should NOT be the other way around, in my mind. Since I have no alternative, unless I can find a cheaper place, somewhere close to here, since I have to pick up a script every month from my DR, so a 250 mile roundtrip every month will save me nothing @16mpg. All I can do is pay him back when I get my settlement. OMG! This so sux.

My neighbor across the hall, who I keep in juice, does woodworking at a friend's shop and replaced the handle on my Old Hickory cleaver with Brazilian Cherry and it's absolutely beautiful! Why do I tell you this? Because, after I get my mods that are ordered, I'm gonna get him to make me a nice holder for them, to keep things organized. Will be sure to post pics so everyone can see. I'm sure if anyone was interested, he could make more, he's a college kid and always broke! Which is why I keep him in juice, that and he sharpened all my OH knives to the point of razor blades. I cut myself and never felt it! Got to be more careful now.

I just can't wait to get all the vapemail I got coming!

Sounds like you did a great job bringing up your son...I know he loves his mom very much and will do what ever he can to help out. Congrats to you, too for sticking with vaping. You know we are all pulling for each other here and will help as much as we can!

If, I recall correctly, you moved from Ca. to NC a while back...I lived there for 40 years before moving back to Tx, loved Ca, but it was gettin' a little pricey with taxes, etc. The weather was great, I live all over the state but loved N. Ca. best!

And that's what I discovered early on. Don't need tobacco flavors cuz the nic level gives that "kinda" tobacco flavor. And I found there's SO much more out there once I left tobacco flaves in the dust. :)

Ok my last order from last month has come in, and I'm saving up, so nothing more this month
VAPEMAIL
Got both my silencers in.

View attachment 312639

The adjustment is REALLY hard to see
View attachment 312640

And no matter which mech I put them on, the edges of the mech are bigger, and you really have to take the darned thing off to change the voltage
View attachment 312641

Other than that, they work really well.

What is a silencer and what does it do? Just curious, never heard of it, but you know I'm still pretty new at this.:)

I got vapemail today, too! :thumb: My 2nd T3S, this one in "smoke" to differentiate it from the clear one I had already, and a replacement coil, as a security blanket. :D

Also, got the first of the different Virginias I'm trying out as possible substitutes for the really good Virginia I get from myfreedomsmokes, and I have to say, I'm kinda disappointed. It has just a *smidge* of the sweet-apple taste that the good Virginia has just a smidge of, but really none of the savory notes, and there's a strong chemical taste. So into the drawer with it, to age for a nice long time, and I'll also shake and air it regularly, and hopefully that chemical taste will dissipate, and perhaps some of the savory mild-tobacco notes will emerge.

The Hangsen Virginia will be here tomorrow or the next day, so I can try it. Since I was disappointed with the one I got today, I went ahead and ordered the other I found, which is here in Georgia, so it ought to get to me pretty quickly. :D

Andria

If it has a chemical smell, leave the cap off for 24hrs, that usually helps. Also, most juice vendors make the juice when it's ordered so they have not had time to steep. Leave it for a week and try it again. It may need 2-4 weeks for tobacco flavors to be 'just right'.

If I order from anyone that has that expensive flat rate shipping, I make sure I order enough to make it worth it. A bottle or 2 just isn't worth it in my book. I'll keep adding until the rate goes up, then back off a bottle.

Ken_A- Love the look of the Hammer. I have A Silencer on a Chrome epipe and I know what you mean about the adjust. Can't move the dang thing once you screw it on. Works great though.

NCPatches- a Silencer is a VV device that make regular unregulated mech mods a VV device. Great for epipe users!!! Nhaler has them but they are pricey. A Vision Spinner is cheaper.

Yeah, I guess so; really just a matter of finding which ones suit me, as vapes. That Cinnamon Apple might fill in, if necessary, esp. if I mix it with the Cinnamon Tobacco. And I do have that Halo Turkish, which I didn't care for by itself, but if I mix up some new concoction with the spices and apple, it might be tolerable.

I also, since I got the new T3S today, gave the Geneva cocoa flavor another try, this time in a *real* clearo instead of the eRoll, but it still tastes so light. Not sure if it just needs more time, or that the chocolate flavor is really that mild in that one. I may in fact end up going ahead and trying out the Halo Belgian Cocoa; it seems to get rave reviews from all that have tried it. I'll wait another week on the Geneva, and see if the flavor ever "matures." I'm also pondering what flavors might be good with it, as a vape; I have the Kringle's Curse, which I fully planned to add to a tankful or two, but I think the chocolate needs to be stronger. I think I saw a "whipped cream" flavor recently, and I gotta say, chocolate with whipped cream is one of my favorite flavors EVER, so that might be doable too.

:toast:

Not me, must have been someone else. I moved from FL in '77 to SC, SC to AR, AR to VA, VA to NC, NC to SC, SC to FL, FL to NC, NC to TN, TN to NC 2008. I think that covers it. Lord! you can tell I'm a southerner! Before 1977, I was in TX from FL for a couple yrs. Grew up in FL.

My son is the most wonderful man I know and not because he's my son. Everyone that knows him says the same thing, even his ex's that always regret their screwups!
And he's been vaping and smokefree for 4.5 months now and I am so proud of him! He started with the Blu and I gave him an eGp setup a month later and he loves it. I also make all his juice for him. Since he was never a heavy smoker to start with, the eGo works great and no battery life issues, unlike his 'chainvaping' mom. If not for having to change batts every 2-3 hrs, I'd stay with the eGos, I like the size, the colors, the portability, etc. But hate having to have 7 of them to get thru the day. Once I get my vapemail in, I'm hoping to be able to go all day with my Zmax and a 3400mAh battery.:D

Thanks for tweeting! It doesn't seem like much, but they DO at least "hear" us.

Speaking from the position of your son. I have helped my parents out many times and it always makes me feel very good that I can give back. Even if it is only 1% of what they have given me!

VAPEMAIL is wonderful!

After reading this, I went and fetched it out of th drawer, so I can leave it open; the bottles are loose in that drawer, so I can't leave it open in there in the dark, or risk spilling it, so it'll just have to deal with the kitchen light for 24 hrs. Tomorrow afternoon I'll recap and shake and put it back in the drawer to let it age for a while. If that chemical taste leaves it, and the more-savory flavors emerge after aging, it might not be bad.

I'd really like to do that, but, budget forbids. We're gonna need more food before next Friday's payday, and even when we get that payday, gotta pay the electric bill, which, mercifully, was $40 less this month than last, but still... :( I probably really shouldn't have ordered that Virginia today from the place here in Georgia, but I gotta find SOMETHING as a substitute for my good Virginia; got maybe 15-20ml left of the 30ml I got last thursday, so I know it probably won't last until they restock. So I may have to go ahead and order their VG variety of that flavor, if these others don't pan out. But if I do that, I'm thinking I'll get the 12mg instead of the 6mg, and mix in some of the apple/cinnamon 6mg flavors I have, to stretch it, lighten the nic, and also lighten the VG load. Some of that Red Oak Tobacco might be good in it too, and that's also a 6mg.

And that's the problem. Finding the right one. And then hoping they don't discontinue it! The quacks chocolate cream I love. But that's me. It's subtle but... luscious. To me. I guess the next step is trying just flavors from the perfumersapprentice guys and a DIY experiment Or 10. Or 20. :)

Is there a list here somewhere of all the vendors that offer a discount for ECF members? I know where to find the coupons, but every so often someone mentions to use a code. I supply 3 of us, so every little bit helps! And I am "thrifty"! I need to place a few orders pretty soon so I am checking sales and coupons and codes. If I save enough this way, I can get a little more in my doomsday box!

I agree with ya garyoa1, finding your favorite flavor profile and then finding the vendor who does those flavors the best can be a challenge, and an expensive challenge at that. Reviews can help narrow the choices, but since flavor is subjective reviews only go so far. I quickly realized that, in my case anyway, I was wasting my money by trying to save money by trying the most inexpensive vendors. I just was never lucky enough to find a good inexpensive juice that really wowed me. After I discovered the deals and steals thread I was able to try the higher end juices for good prices by using coupon codes.

Andria, you lost me! Is there some reason you can't put that open bottle back behind your dishes, to keep it in the dark for a day while it's open? It's just for a day or 2.

And trust me, even before recently loosing some of my income, it was so tight around here, I had to squeeze quarters till Washington screamed! I know what you're going thru and every penny counts. Which is why I started DIY while I had the space on a credit card. I am so glad I did, I'd be screwed if I had to buy juice now, just like if I had to buy cigs.

As I understand it, Mt Baker Vapor is about the cheapest juice you can buy, unless you hit a sale somewhere else. Be sure to check the Vendor's threads, they always put their sales on there.

OH! and congrats on your first week smoke free! I know how proud you are! It's only been 3 months since I was there and I am proud of every single day I do not light up and you should be too!!

 Kim beat me to it and with a link even! Thanks Kim.

Check both, the Deals thread and the vendor's threads, not all are on just one board, both have sales.

Isn't that what a 'kick' does? Is a silencer an external version of a kick or am I confused? (again!)

A kick turns your device to Variable Wattage and I would use one of those if I could. Unfortunately most of the pipes only take 18350 battery so there is no room for the kick in the battery compartment. Madvapes does sell an external kick the sits between the tank and battery 510 connection but I haven't tried it. It didn't get great reviews on the website.

The Silencer is an external device as well but doesn't do VW but rather VV. It has a dial like the Vision Spinners have and maintains a constant output as the battery drains. Here's a link if your still curious: The Silencer
