TY, Mike!
Gary, nauseating is what I was thinking! Throw out those bdc coils, they are just nasty! Try the bvc's. You might be surprised!

I hope so!!!!!! LOL

But I can see a different tank giving a "slightly" different flavor. But not nite and day.

Sad thing is I tried a couple new juices in it and ended up dumping them in a dump bottle they were so awful. Didn't realize it was actually the naut until I tried a known good juice. $#*(&#

Kind of like putting in a juice that sounds good and getting a rotten egg taste. Blech!!!!

Just got the nautilus. I like the adjustments so I can get a tighter draw and it's really well built. But that's the only plus. Flavor... not working for me.

So after fiddling around with my Nautilus for a couple of weeks I just ordered myself a couple more Davides as an additional belated vapeversary present.

Assuming ya'll are using da BVCs, have ya cranked up da watts/volts? I'm now vaping da BVCs at 11 watts. Dat's 'bout three watts higher than I vaped with other toppers! Still luv 'em...

Hey Iffy - have ya been keeping up w/ the newest / latest / and greatest on the vaping scence. Evolv just announced their new DNA40 chip/controller. They claim you'll never to get a dry hit from it.

Instead of setting volts or wattage, you set temperature. It then monitors and regulates the coil to never exceed the temp. If your wick starts drying out it just reduces power. Your vape will drop off but no dry hit.

Saw 'em. I'll wait fer da grand 'jury' verdicts. Besides, I'm awaiting a couple of pre-ordered iSticks. Aiming to replace my VAMO & ZMax tubes.

BTW, with my BVC equipped Nautili, haven't had a dry hit yet! Da flav will drop off when da BVCs get tired, but no dry hits. Da BDCs are no better than other coils I've suffered through.

Interestin', Iffy. Kickin it up does help some. Still... no cigar. i30 is still a winner for me. But I shoulda thot about power. Different juices need different power so it stands to reason different tanks would too. But it may still end up in the round filing cabinet if the bvc doesn't do it.
Actually the only reason I tried a naut was I got a bad pack of i30 coils. Bad coils = brutal vapin!

I think all 5 packs of replacement coils and of cartomizers should have a lot number. They need to recall all bad batches once they're discovered.

Poor QC as regular practice would disappear pretty quickly.

I know. Not gonna happen.

That's what is going on with the bdc coils. They just are not good coils. I'm not talking bad batch, either, the material is no good. The bvc are a whole different animal. They are ceramic material. Ceramic getting much hotter. They heat up slower, but get hotter, & can stand much more heat so can vape at higher watts. The bdc would be ashes. It's comparing apples & crap. No real comparison & apples taste better. I do have the I 30's that came with my MVP'S, might use them if I get robbed of the good stuff.

The bad i30 coils came from fasttech. I shoulda known better!!!!
Thing is, when I first started out I had no intention of rebuilding. So I have a gazillion coils on hand so no idea why I ordered from FT. Once I get down low I plan on playing Dr. Frankenstein with them! :) Got the stuff waitin on da shelf.

You must not have seen this yet then....Taste Your Juice | Can I Taste Your Juice?

Well, now I have. So I guess I'm waiting to see if the button is better on the MVP3, or if the iStick comes out with a version 2 that can actually run at the lower wattages I prefer.:(

I'd love one if they came in VV/VW.

Sent from my Galaxy Note 2 Android phone on a keyboard that waaayyy too small (or my thumbs are waaayyy too big).

That's been my only issue. I'm still thinking of getting one of the bright acrylic ones for my vapocalypse mechanical.

So after fiddling around with my Nautilus for a couple of weeks I just ordered myself a couple more Davides as an additional belated vapeversary present. I'm still considering an Eleaf iStick as well, but I'm waiting for more information on the issues people are having with it running "hot" on lower wattages. Or maybe the MVP 3 will have an easier to push button, since that is the only issue I have with my MVP 2s.

I still find the ones with lines easier to use, since it gives me a reference for where to look. That, and with balance issues I find the gradual change in focus to be a problem.

Oh yeah, stairs. The first week I had glasses (bifocals) I went to see a play. I dressed up, including the high heels I never normally wore (don't wear them at all anymore) and ended up faced with curved stairs with a patterned carpet. Going up was bad, going down my daughter had to both hold my elbow and talk me through being sure my foot was going to the right place.

Yep, I really like the Davides too. Never had a problem with, more than I can say for the coils there for a while. One, out of eight or ten of them, had a very slight seepage problem. When I cleaned it the second time I noticed they forgot to put one of the gaskets in it. Problem solved. I'm also interested in the Eleaf iStick. Seems like an outstanding little device for out and about. A little leery about how easy it might be to accidentally turn it up or down.

Never had glasses with the lines so can't compare. Have dealt with patterned stairs like that with dim lighting. They can be disorienting. They need interior designers that are over 26 and not related to Liberace.

Still thinking into the future and when i get a rebuildable tank/atomiser is it good to get the original or a clone.
I know this question has been asked many times but seem to get different answers each time.
Figure the folks here know where its at.
Something like a kayfun looking at this kayfun light is that a good one to get and would you get original or clone.
Money is not an issue but value is , saving $10 for the same thing is ok so is paying $50 more for a better one. :)

.

Was looking at the leaf stick last night as something to get for another person. They prefer smaller sized batteries/devices.
Now there may be something wrong with them  Tis hard at times navigating the minefield as too what to consider buying.

I can only tell you what I think they are going to say since I haven't been very adventurous yet. Getting a reputable clone is a good way to go if you want to try something out. A real Kayfun, by SvoeMesto, is pretty pricey. A real one is about $100US and a very good clone like EHPro Kayfun about $30US (I think) that may actually have some things you prefer over the authentic. Best thing to do is decide what you want and then ask the specific questions about it.

Tell me about it! Arg. If you don't need it just now, wait and monitor how it goes. Seems to be a toss up as to if they will fix some of the problems sooner rather than later. Main problem seems to be vaping at a lower wattage.

It whispers on one end, bites on the other...

I got a package this weekend. yaaaaa... My mail carrier is now back in my good graces.

And I decided to give a peek inside my (cardboard box) light box, instead of cropping the photo.

Excellent photo and very nice composition!

Gary - I can surely understand that not everyone would like the Nautilus. And when I read your post ^, it made me stop and think if you could have gotten a bad/fake bunch of heads. There are some fakes out there. It just wasn't making sense to me how much it changed you juice.

Hey, hey, hey! Your :2c: is just as valuable as anyone else's!! Some people even have more than :2c: Lots of choices, lots of opinions and it's all good. Glad you found something you like so much.

To clone or not to clone? hmmm, I guess if money weren't a concern I'd buy just the originals not only to support the designer/maker of the original but then I wouldn't have to spin cycles to determine which of the clones good and which are junk. That said, I have originals and I have clones from EhPro and HCigar. The quality of the good clones can be pretty good and even rival the originals.

I was just looking at the Erlkönigin RTA mainly for its smaller diameter compared to the Kfuns, to fit my 20mm non-clone mech mods. The original costs $170, clones $20-$30 - even if money didn't matter - would I want to spend $170 just to try it. I don't think so.

I'm very happy with my KHPro KFCs, and don't feel a pressing need to get an "original". Having looked at them, I don't see that they are going to perform any better, and do cost quite a bit more. Other clones may or may not be as well made, but other than markings, I can't tell any difference. So going with the copied ones, I can have several, with different flavors. I'd have a hard time justifying - even to myself! - having 5 at "original" price.

And, as mentioned, sometimes the clones come up with improvements over the original... Um, isn't the Tesla Model S (car) just a clone of the Model T Ford? With a few improvements?

Like many, I, too, have been looking at the IStick. And it seems that it's in Mean mode by design. One of my older tubes is that way (KSD KMax), and actually is rarely a problem. Yes, it runs hot. So I have to remember to set it lower than I otherwise would on a different mod. But other than a couple of flavor / topper combos, which I can't get it low enough for, it's really become a non-issue for me. (Although, of course, if it was my ONLY mod, it would be an issue!) So, for me, it's still an interesting option. IME, all our hardware has it's pros and cons, and it's just a question of finding what does what we want without too many of the latter.

Yep, minefield for sure! That's why the FDA and BT want to eliminate all our choices, so we won't get confused. (And the same with flavors, since, well, golly, only kids like different flavors, and we're all "grown-ups", right? I must be, since I don't like flavored vodka... oops, I don't care for vodka! And the thought of flavored scotch would make me a tee-totaller!!)

True enough but then so was the Yugo...think I would rather have the Model T. Therein is the other sides of the clones, some are much worse than the originals and buying one might turn you off to what in it's original form is a wonderful device. Read and watch reviews before deciding if possible and consider that if you decide you don't like an expensive original you can generally recoup 80-85% of the cost through reselling it. Try to find vape meets in your area, people are generally happy to do show and tell with their devices and many times you can try theirs if you have a clean drip tip with you or try your topper on their APV. Do your homework and you to can find vaping nirvana.
