Interesting progression of forms. From left to right, Kanger Protank 3 Mini on generic eGo 650mAh battery; kayfun Lite Plus V2 clone on 4nine clone; EHPro Big Buddha on 2six clone.

Too bad I can't find a good 32600 mod to complete the picture!

My second Big Buddha also arrived yesterday. I've drilled out the air holes in the positive block on both of them to 5/64". The kayfun in the picture has also been drilled out to 5/64", including both the side airhole and the center pin. I lung hit, and I like an airy draw.

The build on the Big Buddha is triple-twisted 30ga Kanthal, 7 wraps, dual coil at .5 Ohms, wicked with rayon. The other Big Buddha is 8 wraps at .6 Ohms. I'm not sure which one I like best yet, there seems to be a noticeable difference, but the freshness of the battery charge has much more impact on vaping than the difference in .1 Ohms does.

So bigger is actually better.

What shop is it in Portland that makes juice while you wait? The one on 11th? Also, can they make an 80/20 mix? Sorry for all the questions but I've suddenly got a big problem with my juice.

I am working on designing a box mod. I was wondering, in order to save space I would like to solder the wires directly to the battery rather than use a battery carrier. Is it possible? I was planning on roughing up the terminal ends of the battery, applying flux and using a small butane torch to melt the solder and attach the wire. Planned on the torch to keep from overheating the battery. I think I could solder the wire to the battery rather quickly. There are two things I am concerned about... 1. Cold solder joints and 2. Overheating the battery. Comments and thoughts/guidance please. Thanks in advance.

Yow! Minimum order 100 pieces. Over in the modding area, Lipo packs using in model RC's are common to use. These guys know what they're doing and take the lipo our of the case, then solder leads to them (uh oh - am I leading Matt back to soldering batt connections )

It is not just the shinys. I just panicked and bought 100 ml of tea flavoring.

Flavor Apprentice's 4 oz bottle of tea flavoring is loaded with ethyl alcohol. I corrected the problem by nuking it in two two-minute bursts, stirring and letting it cool somewhat between. This reduced the volume by 1/2. I then replaced the alcohol with pg. It is fine now, and the economy is well-worth the extra fuss.

Next time we're up here we should meet half way or something and have a vape if your up or it. Still haven't seen a vapor in the wild though on person tried to bum a cig and two women laughed at me (I think) like they just saw their first vapor in the wild. Thank you again Papa.

A few other people have posted that this is not a good idea. I'll add that I tried doing something like this a few years ago with NiCad batteries, and never quite got it to work. I could never get the top of the battery hot enough to avoid a cold solder joint without seriously overheating the battery. I'm not a great solderer anyway, so you might have better luck than I did, if you decide to try it, but I think a battery holder with good solid copper contacts is just a better solution in every way. Plus, it's easier to replace the batteries when they finally go bad.

Health Canada is seizing something or other that may or may not cure cancer..
Earlier this month, a lady in the U.K. Had an e-cig plugged into a charger, the charger plugged into an extention cord, and the extention cord plugged into a wall outlet.
Her home burned down, the wall outlet was badly schorched, and investigators could not pin down the actual cause of the fire.
Therefore, the news blamed it on the device that was 3 stages away from the place where the homeowner thinks the fire started in the first place.
So..
If either Health Canada, the U.S. FDA, or the World Harm Orginization put out a statement that there was oxygen in the air we breath, I would do some serious research before believing them.
And as for the sensationalistic headlines and conclusions of what passes for "reporting" these days....

I'm going to go take a nap, then work on making a frame for the foam fold-out couch I got in case I need more than just the bed in the spare room.

Yes, let's meet next time! It's probably just as well that we didn't try to schedule anything this time around, because I just started teaching full time after being a part-timer for the last few years, and they've been keeping me hopping. I'm teaching two courses that I've never taught before, and I've been trying to keep ahead of my students week-by-week. Hopefully, next time you drop through Portland, I'll actually know what I'm doing

I wouldn't say vaping is all that common around here, but it's not exactly rare either. There are usually one or two vapers at the designated smoking area every time I take a vape break at PCC, so I'm surprised you got much of a reaction. Maybe they never saw a flamingo wearing a tutu before. Though, in Portland, that doesn't sound too unusual either

You should like Rose City Vapesters. The owner, Elton, seems like a decent guy who genuinely cares about his customers succeeding at stopping smoking, unlike many of the shops around here where they seem mostly interested in how big a cloud they can blow (like that video of Elements you posted a while back).

I haven't gotton into any need for batteries other than my MVP'S, but seeing these posts about batteries makes me wonder if it's ok to to let you know about someone that's making battery sleds for different box mods on a 3D printer. He's on Facebook & seems to have a steadily increasing group of customers. He prints holders of different styles, too. Just tell him what you want, give him the specs & he does it. He's not one of the vendors here, tho some of the vendors might want to get with him.

I think posting a link is perfectly fine. I think if you're personally selling something, and not a registered supplier with ECF, that's when they have problems and consider it spamming.

Thanks, Papa! It's Vape3D on Facebook. I followed him because I was facinated by the things he was printing. He's shipping all over the world now. Have no idea if his stuff is any good, but he seems to really work to fine tune his peices to fit the need.

Somebody was asking about large-mouth drip tips. I love this one but can't recommend it because it will not fit any device you have until you find the right sized o-ring for the connection. No matter what device you're using, the stock o-ring is too small.

I got my new Nautilus from MVS today. I sure did miss using the Nautilus in the three days that I've been without one.

In other good news, when I placed my order for new top hardware for my defective Nautilus at Aspire Nautilus accessories I thought I had also ordered a spare rubber gasket, which I don't really need but would have been nice to have as a spare. However, it turns out that on the somewhat confusing drop-down list of items, I had ordered something I will need immediately (for $1.00), which is a connecting pin and spring (since the old one is lost in the rug somewhere near my feet and I haven't found it yet.)

I am not willing to blame my defective Nautilus on manufacturer's defect. It's more than possible that I damaged it myself when I first got it but that the damage wasn't severe enough to prevent it from working. After about 70 days, the problem that I probably caused became bad enough that the Nautilus would no longer work properly.

Next time I get something new, I'll read the instructions first before trying to use it..... maybe.
