Me too. Maybe you or the others can help. I have always vaped TFA flavors and nothing else, at least since I stopped using premade about three years ago. I'd like to try a different vendor and see if that goes better. Anybody have a recommendation of a vendor with good berry and/or fruit flavors? Preferably something I can order a small quantity from WLs? Would be much appreciated.
Flavor art and Capella tend to give me less breathing problems. also less VG and more PG.

But it just may be the type of flavoring, not the brand.
I love quince, but it makes my lungs hurt. Same with wintergreen. Blueberry and raspberry don't do me much good either.

Strawberry is OK though. And I've not had a melon flavor that hurt my breathing, just lots that didn't taste good. Most candy flavors are OK for me too.

Menthol I just use when my allergies act up, but extreme ice is good for me if I don't use more than 5 drops per 30 ml.

Way to go, Dinger. Did you let him know about this forum? You might also let him know that all of are pulling for him.

Thanks

No, we haven't talked the forum yet. I figure when I sit down with him I will. I will certainly pass on everyone's good wishes - thanks so much for that :)

Way to go, Dinger! I love reading convert stories. :)

I remember sneaking cigarettes when I was 15...I also remember getting caught sneaking, and receiving a good old fashioned "scolding" lol.

Yeah, old fashioned scoldings were performed behind the wood shed for me. I spent a lot of time back there as I recall.

Still vaping on the first factory coil in my new OBS Engine Mini Sub tank. 80ml at 82w so far and the flavor is still good. I'm impressed.

Good Morning porch dwellers still frigid weather here and only looking at the porch from the window.
Morning, Steve! It's Game Day in Houston, so 15 miles from here chaos reigns. I will not be going anywhere. Nope! I do hope to see Airforce2 come in to land at Ellington. Sometimes it flies right over us & really low. So low & slow I don't see how it stays in the air.

Looks can deceiving with those large planes.
avg. take off speed is 160-180 and landing is 130-160. of course, it all depends on weather, payload, etc.

Good Afternoon, Folks!

Hope everyone has been doing o.k. Those with health issues, I hope you get some relief. Those waiting on vapemail, I hope it arrives quickly :)

Just helped a potential convert order some gear. In the essence of keeping it "simple", he's getting a Cuboid Mini and an eLeaf iPower along with a couple of eGo ONE V2 tanks with spare coils. His words, "I'm ready to quit". Don't know if I shared this here, but he works for a client for whom I'm doing an implementation. He was outside smoking one day when I pulled up. I walked up and asked if he'd thought about vaping. Said he'd tried it once, but the juice sucked and the device (starter pen kit, I believe) just didn't cut it for him. Showed him my eVic VTC Mini that was sporting an eGo ONE tank. Next time I went over there, I had a spare tank loaded with a menthol tobacco flavor (I had a sample from a ProVape that I do NOT like.) He mentioned things "blowing up" I explained that generally happens when somebody tries to do something stoopid. If you pay a little attention, the likelihood of something disastrous happening was very slim. Showed him a picture of my vape cave. His eyes got REALLY BIG. Asked if I'd help him get started. Was back over there yesterday, helping with more of the implementation. Before I left, we placed the order :)

I'm REALLY hoping this gets delivered before I have to go out of town. I want to sit down with him and make sure he understands how everything works before I have to leave. I've mixed a few juices for him, in hopes at least ONE of the flavors will be o.k. If we get a winner, I'll mix a larger batch for him. I might get to use up some of my TFA tobaccos that I'm not overly fond of.

If this turns out to be a complete bust, I'll buy the gear back from him. Other than being internal battery mods, nothing I wouldn't use for myself. If he takes off, the mods are versatile enough that he can grow into them. One can only hope :)

Nice going!

True, I feel the same way. If everyone who vaped could just get one person to convert there would be twice as many healthier peeps out there.
I have gotten quite a few friends and family members to convert, some of them are even doing their own builds. Some of them required a lot of babysitting seemingly forever while others just jump right in with buying their own juice and coil heads.
There are always failures but I can't blame myself if they go back to cigs. As others have said, "they have to want it".
I have one troublesome partial convert that flip flops between cigs and vaping. I can always tell when he spent the weekend smoking cuz he hacks while vaping at work until about lunch time on Mondays. It's frustrating to listen to but at least he's trying. We're the same age but the poor guy's lungs are so shot he runs out of breath just carrying a few sheets of drywall in from the truck. I hope he will come around to vaping full time soon. It could mean the difference between living a long life or contracting copd.

On a different front I have convinced two of my underaged nephews to quit vaping. Neither is/was a smoker and both were vaping because it is "cool to vape", "my friends all vape", "vaping won't hurt me" and on and on. I gave them the ol' "herd mentality" talk, convinced them both that they were being robbed of their individuality and explained many of the knowns and unknowns about vaping. Apparently it worked and I feel just as good about that as I do about converts. Children should not vape for any reason and I am appalled that some parents allow it.
One local woman here is suing the local vape shop, not for selling her underaged son vape gear, but for selling it to him for double price because he is under age. What the heck?!! I like the idea of having a local vape shop in our two horse town but not at the expense of minors. I hope he gets put out of business. End of rant....

Even better :headbang:

Just checked out a vaping vendor in the UK. On the nicotine page they said they have stopped preparing nic for retail sale. They are allowed to go on selling existing stock for another few weeks .

They are still allowed to sell wholesale, like to juice manufacturers. People are discussing ways to use that option, like co-ops or dummy companies.

If I have to move to Scotland I won't be able to take my freezer full of nic along. The TPD doesn't make possession of previously purchased nic illegal but I'm sure bringing it into the country would be out.

They are offering this option for the future which follows the TPD rules.

Box of 18 Nicotine Shots 10ml (18mg/ml)
£15.99

I did the calculations. At around 30ml of 8mg a week I would be spending around $3 a week on nicotine. That's a lot compared with the pennies it costs me now, but a pint of beer costs over $4. I can live with that. Not so good for folks who use a lot of juice, I know I'm on the low end.

I have a poopload of TFA flavors. Kept buying them as I was recording recipes. When I got to over 100 I started to try to make stuff. No luck. Sort of assumed I blowed at making juice. Lately I have been using FlavorArt and everything is much better. I do not know if FA will help with your asthma. If I could only buy one vendors flavorings it would be FA. I also buy Capella and Inawera but I think FA is topnotch

Sorry I didn't come back last night, stiff as a board, bumped the petition thread, went to bed and slept like a brick.

Thank you for the recommendations! I'll try the FA first. Is it stronger than the TFA or about the same "dose?" Already found a couple of flavors to try. :)

Utah has tried to pass that for the past two years in a row, and will probably try to pass it again this year.

The reality is that the 15 year old that chooses to smoke doesn't give a damn what the legal age is. So the only people effected by such a law are 18,19 & 20 year old legal adults.
The bad news is that those between 18 & 20 would not be remanded to juvenile court, and because of those convictions would never be allowed a good scholarship to a prestigious collage, and could even be barred from military service. (class F offence .... same as a drug conviction)

I heard a lobbyist say (2015) "how old does an adult need to be to make a stupid decision?"

I started when I was 12, didn't care about the age limit, never had a problem getting them. Wish there had been vape gear to buy back then and maybe I wouldn't have been hooked for over four decades. Smoking, nicotine, did allow me to function better with undiagnosed ADHD.

Very interesting point about the scholarships. I hope they never pass it.

Nice job, Dinger! Mine didn't put juice in the tank before he tried to vape. :( Then his wife said he complained about having to fiddle with it and smoking was so much easier.

Thanks

Do tell him we are rooting for him! And don't forget about ECF.

That sucks. There's no one you could send some to now to hold just in case?

I may have to try the menthol at some point. I vaped key lime for a long time, then developed problems with it and had to quit using it. Blackberry for a long, long time, then problems. Environmental allergies have gone bonkers with the fire, reseeding, drought and dropping of trees. Really hoping the vaping problem is the brand. I'm using very little flavoring at this point. Unflavored dried me out to much. Interesting you and @chanelvaps recommended the same things. Thank you for the help.

If you were moving to Scotland, maybe you could post the nic to a mate living there already for good keeping.
That really stinks...this stubborn stand on vaping is going to hurt so many.

@FlamingoTutu, if you do decide to try menthol, don't try Frozen Hulk tears...it's overwhelming.

I cross-my-heart promise never to go near Frozen Hulk Tears. Sounds deadly, thanks for the warning. :w00t:

I'm sorry you have those problem also. Bad enough when you know what it is and can deal with it, drives you out of your mind when Mother Nature turns everything upside down and you have to start all over again. Hope it improves and stays improved for you soon. :)
