From what I understand with cotton and hemp is that the juice gets absorbed into the fiber, expanding it then flows to the coil, too much and it bottlenecks itself from expanding. Rayon, the juice flows outside the fiber, not getting absorbed so it doesn't expand but does settle upon itself thus shrinking as-per-say. So its hard to choke the coil with too much rayon but the side effect are these massive thick tails that can choke juice flow to the coil packing them into a chimney or well. Scraping away at least a third of the tails, holding the other side down so your not pulling threads from the coil, removing the bulk works to remove bulk so there is a more open flow to the coil and less wick to be packed into the chimney or well.

I just fluff each side vertically and snip diagonally, then fluff them back horizontal and finish up. Thinning the tails also seems to minimize popping. YMMV :)

What I use to do before I saw the video of someone scraping through the tails was taking the tail(cut longer than needed) then blowing onto it to make a flower, with my pick I'd pull down some from the top and from the bottom then cut out with scissors. Trying to remove from the center the best I could leaving the length of the top and bottom, it was tedious and more or less effective. The scraping cuts hassle time immensely. It works great on my subtank mini, merlin, TFV4 and kayfun so any atty that bulk tails are a issue.
I did some digging into my past posts and here's the video that I saw this guy scrape his build. No need to pay attention to what he's building but the 30:25 mark after he cuts his cotton then how he thins it out is the trick. My only difference is I don't pull the excess like he does but cut it so I don't take strands from the coil.

After I pull the rayon through the coil, I just snip 1/3 to 1/2 the diameter of the protruding tails w/ scissors. Then remove the cut portion and tuck in the remaining tails. My coils are 2.5mm ID.

Here's an old pic-torial I posted on the porch in the past.

Take a bundle of rayon and prepare it into a roll probably around 2x-3x the diameter of the coil. Wet and twist one end to make a taper to feed through the coil. Insert and pull it through the coil. It should have a fair amount of tension/resistance when working it through the coil. 'Listen", you'll hear it squeak telling you, you have enough. If it's too tight and starts to deform the coil ... grap both ends and 'pull'. This will stretch the rayon bundle. Try again to get it through the coil. It should be fairly snug to tight ... if you can easily pull it out you don't have enough. You'll use much more than when working w/ cotton.

Next I trim the ends longer than needed.

Then I cut about 1/2 of the thickness of the tails away. You don't need full thickness tails. Rayon wicks superbly. Thick tails will tend to let the juice leach back out from under the coil between vapes.

Then I prime the wick in the coil and the 'too long' tails. I use a large pin to brush the tails into place. Then press hard w/ the pin into the corner of the atty deck where the tail goes down to the ledge w/ the juice channel.

Then I cut the tails just below the 'mark' left by the pin in the previous step.

Lastly, just tuck the tails into the crevice/corner of the deck and your all done. I like doing it this way better than having the collar around the coil/wick and the wick sticking up then cutting and tucking. Doing it this way I can see I have just enough wick touching the deck and it not blocking the juice channels at all. For me its just an easy repeatable process I use on all Kayfun type decks.

Put it together, fill the tank, and enjoy the vape.

4 different watermelons, and a big Capella watermelon. couple of strawberries, kiwi, vanilla, big bottle of menthol solution thrown in by EcigExpress express, couple wintergreen, honeydew melon, sweet mint, and that Banana foster.
Am I missing anything I'm going to wish I had?
The didn't send, or customs kept the sweetener, and the honeysuckle. Is there a sweetener that's best for sweetening without artificial aftertastes or iffy ingredients? I'll order some here or from New Zealand. Crab juice or chilli vape, that's just wrong. Like liver and onions.
I Think I should get sweetener, cream, , maybe sone brown sugar. I'd like to get a coffee or creme brûlée, maybe with just a little bit of menthol, it might be ok. Ice tea would be great with mint and menthol. Do they sell ice tea flavouring?

Kinda rare to need sweetener for anything. Unless yoo haz a reeeellly sweet toot.
I read somewhere that one of the companies doesn't sweeten anything, unless you order sweet strawberry, sweet mint, etc. and I like sweet, not sickly sweet, but definitely sweet.

Just cuz they don't add it doesn't mean it won't be sweet. :)

TFA Cotton Candy just the sweetner already mixed instead of powder form.

Just about any fruit is good with menthol. I've just discovered mango!

I'm going to pick up a few flavors soon, and menthol is one I have on my list. Any particular brand you find most appealing? By the way, I use mango in a strawberry, peach, mango and banana mix. Light on the banana, though. It's one of only a couple true recipes I do. Mostly, I go for single flavors.

That actually sounds good! I wonder what it would be like with some kiwi added? Or maybe substituted for one of the other flavors, I think if I was going to substitute it would be the peach I'd drop, but I'd try it with all of them just to see.

It's tasty, Kad. I'm not a big flavor guy. Seldom go above 10 percent on flavors, and 5 percent is not unusual. But this one is an exception. I go 5 percent on TFA Ripe Strawberry, 5 percent on TFA Juicy Peach and 5 percent on TFA Mango. Then, I add 2 percent TFA ripe banana because it's a strong flavor. (Total 17 percent, which is off the charts for me).

I have a bottle of menthol I got 2 years ago that I usr when i want a menthol. Don't even remember what brand. As far as I know, menthol is menthol. I can barely vape fruits. Just an occasional thing for me, it gets old fast, & I can't mix more than 2 together. More than that turns to yuk.
