A whole day re spooling ? NO WAY !!!!

If it's a good quality spinning reel switch to braided line , you will never go back . You can use a mono leader at the end like most people do .

Braid is very thin , it never tangles while spooling and the sensitivity will blow you away since it has 3-6% stretch , mono line averages 20 -30% stretch.

What that translates to is feeling every little vibration at the end of your line , the difference is life transforming lol.

It also casts much further and is much much stronger than mono .

I am rambling , i thought i was on fishing forum again , my mistake . I have been a die hard surf fisherman my entire life , i get carried away .

Yes, sadly it was a whole day. Major problem was that I can't see the line, so I think it's spooling but it's not, In effect I was just twisting the line, and couldn't understand why . However, I finally got it spooled and ready to go. I practiced knots last night while vaping and I've memorized one.

I will get braided at some point. My reel is a Pfleuger Presidential. It is really nice. I've never had a spinning reel before.

You can't see the line ? Can you see the reel ? Anyway the important thing is that you can see the water where you are going to fish .

Water tends to be blue in color, thats where the fish are most likely to be , i'm sure you will spot it eventually but if you cannot see the line right in front of you maybe not.

I have seen people with bad eyesight actually cast into the woods before then sit in their chair and crack open a beer and wait for a bite , no joke .

I wonder if there's a way to do that with K5's?

Yes you can ... screw screw off the top section of the tank. It will expose the build deck. Don't forget, unscrew it upside down or oops!

I do it with them Kenna sometimes it will lose a little but I do it when the juice is down at least to 3/4 I close the JF remove the DT with it upside down unscrew the bottom section leaving the metal piece on the glass and set the tank to one side, I usually put it on a tissue because there might be a little juice in the DT spot then I put the bottom section on my 521 tab but usually once I have that piece off then I remove the 510 screw and wash all the parts on the separately remove the wick and I wash everything with hot tap water then put it back together with a little vg on the 3 Orings tighten the 510 pin good and tight put it on my 521 Tab dry fire it brush the ash off rewick it wet the wick and put it back together.

So upside down & remove the base? Thanks, Mike! It seems like I'd heard it could be done, but wasn't sure.

St Pete is the coast side of Tampa. It was mentioned on that Billion Lives website.

Search results for: 'davide'

I missed seein St pete/tampa or saw one but didn't realize it was the same area, so I thought you were joking. But Iffy got the link up for ya!

Except on Tuesdayz.
you wouldn't know, you sleep then!

@PapaSloth was very passionate and into his teaching job. I hope he was able to get tenure, he never let us know. If we've lost him for good, it was to a great cause
Jup...........Miss him, hope he shows back up at some point to let us know how he is.

Has anyone heard from @Wolfenstark? Last I heard he had himself a girl, then poof, he was gone.
Jup! Hope he aint datin a spider and she ate him! Miss Wolfy too

The Flamingo was sicker than she thought with an infection according to the Dr. Now on antibiotics, which seem to be working rapidly, and on the mend but still woozy and dizzy. I admit it, the Flamingo passed out on the floor is me, for the time being. :(
Dang darlin! Next time don't wait so long to go to the doc!! I do that a lot too, but do as I say, not as I do!! hehehe Glad you're on the mend though, and hope there are no infection complications.

Good Morning dwellers and waiting for some crappy weather to come into our area. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
Hope the crappy weather misses ya

Sitting back with a beer and a vape sounds much less stressing than fishing-at least today. I made a list of fishing docks on the gulf. We start north and go to the first one which looks big on the map. Well the dock is closed. I don't know why. I guess no one cares because it's also got boat ramps.

So I cast my line standing on this cement wall. I just want to practice. I end up with a mess-a bird nest? And lost my fake bait. So the tangle is so bad I cut it out . Then I had nothing else so I tied my scissors to the end of the line and cast it, lost the scissors and ended up with another bird nest (of line). On the way back to the truck, 2 people had to say "you got quite a mess there". So back to you tube on how to cast. Turns out NO ONE TOLD ME ABOUT HOLDING THE LINE WITH YOUR THUMB and removing it as you cast. How stupid.

I see they make spinning reels without the bail where you use your thumb for everything, tension, locking, etc. But they are about $700 or more. Imagine buying a pricey reel that is more manual.

We go to the next dock. It's beautiful. 20 minutes. It has a bridge. I'll be back. I get home and my reel is almost empty. That's how bad my fishing day went. So I get out a new pack of fish line. I'm half way thru and the dog jumps on the bed and I yell and she runs off with the line around her legs. I hope the next day is better. And requires less vaping.

I'm 57, so any guy there would be eye candy for me. But I'm out of the game. As for the value of my reel, it's worth $50.00. My speed for now.

Has anyone used those metal reels that have nothing but a knob to turn the reel? Antique looking?

Thanks. I think a good experience turned bad due to a thumb action like my thumb being used for what the reel can't do.

Did Kenna mention fishing in a "thong" ? If your a man please don't do that, we have a Presidential candidate that jogs in a thong already (G.J)

OMG , i don't think there has ever been an angler in the history of fishing that has had a day anywhere close to as horrific as that .

It's so bad i was convinced i had to be hallucinating while reading it.
