I'm planning on buying batteries this weekend with the Black Friday sales. I know what smaller batteries I want. But, there are so many choices for 18650s!

The ones I'm looking at so far are:
*NEW* AW IMR 18650 3.7v 3000mAh Flat Top
*NEW* AW IMR 18650 3.7v 2200mAh
LG 18650HG2 3000mAh 20a
Samsung INR18650-25R 2500mAh Green

I guess the AW IMR 18650 button top would be best for Provari. But, everything else takes flat top, right? I need batteries for REO, Xvo clone, and mechs. Any advice/recommendations?
For flatops if you are going to vape under 20 amps ie around 60 watts or less the LG HG2's have 3000 mah capacity and can be had for 6-7 dollars some places now.

Yes.

It's been a long night and I haz a silly :). I tend to fall head over heels for a flavor for a period and then, without rhyme or reason, I find I don't like it anymore. First it was banana, then CLR, and then, strawberry. I'm praying it doesn't happen with custards and gooey cinnamon danish!

Goin' to bed, now. Have a good sleep, dear Porchers!
I've seen it a hundred times and should know it but, it's one of those blank spots that I seem to have more and more. What the heck is CLR other than the stuff that removes lime from your bathroom fixtures, and I hope to heck your not vaping that!?!:shock::shock:

Everything else should take a flat top but, like anything, there are exceptions. You should know if your batteries work in a given mod. That is unless you just bought it and haven't tried em yet. Flat tops are all I've been buying lately and haven't had any problems. YMMV.
Edit to add a thought: Just had a thought. Are IMR batteries required in the Provari? If not I would buy the highest Mah/Amp raw rated batteries I could find. That way they would work in any mod you might buy and even most mechanicals. Personally I like the Samsungs.

@2legsshrt, Patrick I know you have a lot of sub-tanks. Have you seen this replacement top to covert them to top filling?

$6.27 Replacement Tank Set for SUBTANK Mini Clearomizer - stainless steel + glass at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
The Kanger Subtank is just about all that I use. I have 2 of them. After seeing your post, Mike, I ordered this one: $7.09 Replacement Tank Set for SUBTANK Mini Clearomizer - stainless steel + glass at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
Since my two existing Kanger Subtanks are the Plus size, with 25 mm bases, the replacement tank will not fit them, so I had to order a 22 mm air control base as well, for another $5.

I'll let y'all know 4 to 6 weeks from now whether the top fill cap works as advertised.

No need to use the AW IMR's in a P3. ProVape is now selling the Samsung batteries, so that tells ya somethin'! I have, and use, all of those batteries. They all work :)

ETA: when I saw "18650," I thought only of the P3. If you are talking 2.5 or 2, flat tops won't work. I'm sorry for any confusion I may have caused!

The original Provari 2.0/2.5's must have button tops. The P3 is OK w/ either. Provape strongly recommends flat top for the Radius, although a button top will work.

If you like reading test result's Mooch's Blog is pretty comprehensive. Scroll slowly down until you see a sections heading "Tables". There's a link there to download a PDF with a summary of all the results.

Back to batteries. I've heard people say that thus and such battery "holds the top charge" longer than so and so battery. What does that mean? Will batteries of equal mah and amps last the same amount of time (i.e., last through the same number of mls)? Put out the same power, throughout? If not, why not? (There was a long and tedious conversation -- tedious to someone who doesn't understand, anyway -- about VV vs VW devices that talked about everything but batteries. I'm trying to understand.) Thanks!

They are talking about voltage sag under differing current loads. Some batteries maintain voltage at a higher current draw better than others.

Only needs 168 now.
Over 100,000! I just did something I have never before done: I wrote about this on FaceBook and asked friends to sign and share my post. It makes me nervous to share stuff about myself on FB, but I am far more frightened about the impact of the FDA deeming regs.
