Gary, a very happy birthday to you!

Call me paranoid, it's OK, it's just my opinion: I'd drink something stored in an oak barrel but I wouldn't vaporize and inhale it.If using the wood flavorings doesn't get me what I want I'll go the bourbon soaked oak chips route. There is a company near me that makes the little wood casks from used oak aging barrels. They make them for wine or other homebrewers.
You guys are over-thinking it. I took my first one all the way apart and put it back together just because I wanted to see all the parts. on normal use:
refilling =
tighten the bottom - take off the top and fill it up - put top back on and loosen the bottom
re-wicking =
take off the bottom at the ring with the holes. lift out
take off the baffle-ring
rebuild
put on baffle-ring
put the bottom back on
vape.
no need to even worry about more than 4 pieces at most. If I have a needle bottle, I take off the small chimney - if not, I take off the piece below it.
And metal And glass. What ever you prefer to use, you can use. I have 3 kits. One of them has a poly-tank that looks like steam-punk glass.
Did it have all those colored tanks with it? I wish they had an option for all clear ones. I'm not crazy about the colored ones.
I don't use it because it's polycarb, and I like my freckled lemonade... a tank etcher. Can we get a pic of that tank? Steampunk could be cool.
If you do any banana it is much better steeped for at least 2 weeks. The only fruit I have noticed this with.
Flavor Concentrates banana flavoring is just right for you then. It tastes like a banana just bought at the grocery. I like them ripe so I add just a bit of banana ripe flavoring to the Flavor Concentrates flavoring and let it steep. No I don't, but that's because I don't like banana flavored things so I've never been tempted to use that flavoring. Love to eat bananas as long as they're not ripe and squishy. It's interesting though, that banana is better steeped when other fruits don't seem to need it.
The barrels are cleaned & sterilized, & resulting liquids filtered until clear. I don't have a problem with it. Most of the juices I vape are barrel aged. I'd just be doing it on a smaller scale. I'm also considering soaking the chips in Makers Mark 46 & JD first since they are bourbon flavors.Call me paranoid, it's OK, it's just my opinion: I'd drink something stored in an oak barrel but I wouldn't vaporize and inhale it.
Last night I had to use pliers to get my wife's Kay Fun lite off of the istick 30. I didnt really notice when I put the tank on the mod, but it bottoms out on the raise vent grooves on the top of the mod, and them screw holes work like a lock washer.
I haven’t had this problem using the adapters, this is our first tank that actually fits without the adapter.

Didnt think about that, I looked a little closer, and sure nuff, it was an air adjustment screw that bottomed out and caused the problem. the tank arrived with the "adjustment screws" flush, so in fact is not adjustable, lol. My next day off I will see if I cant shorten those adjustment screws so they recess into the tank but the draw isn’t so tight, were talking .025, lol. That happened to Janet. The air screw of the KFL loosened and was 'sticking into' one of the groves of the iStick. I was a lucky ... with the point of a sewing needle I was able to reach the screw and work it back into the KFL so I could unscrew it.
It was 'locked' solid. I think I would have destroyed the top of the iStick if I forced it off w/ pliers.
Shew! Got lucky!
