You are absolutely correct, rhelton. I was just kinda leavin' it in the context of its use in the mod that was being discussed. Of course they have many other uses, but in this instance its being used as a voltage regulator. I just wasn't trying to get overly technical in the explanation.
For some reason I did not see the rest of the post you guys put up. I see where you were going with it now.

No worries... sorry if I came across sounding like a D... I've been in electronics for 20+ years now and just don't think about it sometimes. What seems simple to someone "in the field" might as well be Latin to someone who isn't.

I've only been vaping and off cigarettes about a month, and I figure I'll want to get into DIY juices sooner or later. So far, I find all the variety of ingredients and variety of ways to buy them confusing, especially nicotine. So many different strengths, and some seems to come mixed with VG. I also can't figure out how you folks settle on flavors since there are so many brands etc. Anyway, my main goal now is to stay off cigarettes. I've ordered some juices online, and my local vape shop mixes some terrific concoctions, some of which I invent myself.

Welcome to the porch Mike. Always nice when new folks join in. Looks like you've already gotten some answer for starting DIYing. Just ask again when you're ready ... can't ask too many questions on the porch ya know.

I'm slapping my own fingers to keep from loading one up & trying it!

There's more where they came from ... :D

Anyone here who has family in Brussels, my sincere thoughts and prayers go out to you all.
Wow. I don't think any of us do have family there, but when my dad was stationed in S.H.A.P.E. we would go there at least once a month. stupid terrorists.

Just a thought, but does anybody besides me think it might help our Vaping cause if somber even one of these organizations like CASAA would put out some positive infomercial on Vaping. Kinda like a Vaper talking to a smoker about there journey to being smoke free and how good they now feel. ?? As I said just a thought I had and thought I would share.:):smokie::firefox:
Go to the CASAA Facebook page and mention it. They may be able to find someone who can do that sort of thing.

True, and good point. Maybe, just maybe something will turn up and we'll start seeing more positive things on the vaping frontier!
That thought has crossed my mind as well... but they did used to have commercials on TV for cig-a-likes. I haven't seen any in a little while though...
saw a couple of them this week. the one where the lady says "It's not smoking, it's vaping" at a dinner party and the one where the guy stops his buddy from smoking by handing him a vuse.

I'm so out of the loop these days, I missed you coming in.

This is weird, I swear I responded to these posts before. The internet has been down for the past two days, but these are from Sunday.

My phavorite Phamingo,

Thanx so much fer your heads up! I rarely wander beyond da porches nowadays; so I would have missed a personally sensitive post.

Goodness, da memories and history! Hopefully she's just goin' thru a mild withdrawal...

Again, thank you!
Thank you, and thank you everybody else that over to that thread, for giving Mattiem some moral support. I was dumbfounded when I saw it.
Thanks everyone. I am sitting here on my corner of the porch, crying at the moment but it is because I am happy to know that there really is a place for me here on the porches where I won't be judged harshly. I had been having some very bad days/weeks and had gotten so very tired. I am feeling a bit better today and it is thanks to all of the kind words all of y'all have shared with me.
Talked to you on the other thread and, as you know, was over the moon you'd decided to stay. And I loved the welcome-back-to-the-fold photograph of you all.

And on a lighter note...
I was not satisfied with the vape stand I made...
It was a mash-up of someone else's Lighthouse and my Vape stand, so wasn't totally mine.
THIS is totally mine! Hand-painted and really nice, IMO:

and if you want to see the steps and some better pictures of just the stand, just check my photobucket.

Really, really like that one Ken! :thumb:
And Mattie, you should never have to worry about yourself here. We are all tolerant of differing opinions.

as far as vaping in public (a favorite bash topic)...
I will vape in public. If I'm just out walking the neighborhood and there may be children present, I don't vape. Unless it's after 6PM. Any child out after that will just have to ask mom and dad what is going on.
But I have no problem vaping form the parking lot to the store, or walking down the sidewalk, or just sitting on a bench.
Other people don't feel comfortable with that, and that's O.K. THEY don't have to be in MY head. Thank goodness I don't have to be in theirs either.
I vape in those situations also Ken. What gets me is the places you aren't supposed to vape outside even when deserted, like beaches, parks or woods.
Honestly I only ever saw Snoopy in a tree till just now. Now I'm having trouble not seeing the ostrich.
I didn't understand what they were talking about for the longest time, until I saw his avatar on a small screen. Once you see the ostrich, you can't ever unsee it. :(

I did not take it that way. For some reason the forum hides some post and has that bar that asks if you want to view older messages. I dont always click on them.

That's when you're writing something and someone posts while you're writing. Gives a chance to see if something may have already been answered.

I use 60 mg VG NIC. Why? The reason is that most flavors I use are PG so I want an 80/20 mix so the 20 is taken care of with flavoring. The rest is VG. Still wonderful flavors in my liquids. VG has its disadvantages as well. Very thick to work with. I use a 1 ml syringe to extract my VG NIC. Also easier to keep in the freezer and then unfreeze then freeze and work with again.
yeah diff strokes for diff folks. I use 100 cuz it's the most cost effective, and I make my base at 24 mg. When I open a new liter, I break it down into 120 ml glass bottles and put those in the freezer. I take one out dump it in a jar add pg/vg to make my base. So the 100 mg works well for me. I know it's not good to keep opening and closing a bottle of nic, more air gets in, and some condensation can too. But we each come up with what works for us. Wow, those were a lot of great recipes, thanks for posting. I did notice in at least one, you used cotton candy and EM. I've always heard those are the same thing. Have you heard differently?

I cut the sweetener in half and added a bit of Vanilla Bourbon,
you probably do know, but wanna make sure cuz I didn't when I bought it. The vanilla bourbon is just the type of vanilla it is, it has no bourbon flavor.

Now THAT'S a list of recipes! I've been DIYing for over a year now, and I have about 3 that I'm fairly happy with... I'm working on it though; slowly but surely.
Same here! Round about a year and I have 3 or 4 that I'm very happy with. but I also need to get off my tuchus and use some flavors I haven't used yet.

When you have to put that you are a little angel, the opposite is actually true!
cept for our birdy.......she really is a sweet lil angel!! :)

I think it would be fantastic! dunno why folks don't do that. There might be regulations, but they do have the Vuse commercials, and there are plenty that mention smoking as in don't do it.....the ones with folks missing legs, the lady that had throat cancer etc. I think this would do more good than just about anything.........folks believe what they see on TV

Very glad ya simplified it, but just for the record.......... Iya oday eakspay atinlay!

Hahahaha!! You'll be alright... I'm pretty sure it'd just be a luv tap! ... Hopefully...
