Mostly covered, but...

Have you tried it on another mod that has ohm check?

And it might just be that said pin is in a tad too far... With it opened up so you can see the terminal block, you can back off that screw a small amount - too much and the positive block will be loose, and that will lead to shorts, eventually.

Well, actually grew up in the Coast Guard, until my dad's transfer the year I started college. And many years as a civilian electrician in various shipyards, mostly repair and construction of fighting ships for the USN.

If adjusting the 510 post on the bottom, be sure to keep the airhole in the post & the sides of the base lined up or you'll lose airflow, too.

When I try to get a reading with the regular ohm meter the readings just jump all over the place and never settle. It is one of the freeby red ones... David, I tried it on several mods I have that read ohms. Just get no atomizer or non. Guess I will wait to hear from Vapor Range. Not unheard of to get a dud now and then. But thank you very much everyone!
Don't forget that the resistance on just about any coil is kind of low for just about any multimeter, especially the cheap ones. The jumping around could be just a loose screw (lots of them around here :)) or corrosion on the tip if the meter probe even.

How do all y'all KNOW this stuff?! I can barely understand the directions ... Yet one more reason that I love this thread: If it was my question, I figure you'd just keep explaining til I get it :)
We would if you wanted us to. The best way would be for both the asker and the askee to meet up either in the hangout or on the phone. Easier that way. :)

Thank you everyone for your help. I don't have a working volt/ohm meter, just a little black box tester. I have several mods that report ohms. I have tried all the great suggestions to no avail. I hope to hear from Vapor Range sometime today....

I hope they do get back to you today. It should work when you get it, just like the other one did. Obviously something isn't right and if it's not an easy fix it should be replaced. I'm sure they'll make good on it for you.

And they all report "non", iirc?

Maybe try taking the screw all the way out to inspect and clean, and then put it back. Just not as far, just enough so the top block doesn't move. Since the negative post is part of the main casting/machining, hard to envision a connection problem there... and it doesn't take much height/depth difference to lose the connection at the bottom. Since you're getting erratic, bouncy readings, it sure seems like the height of that pin inside the sleeve...

Just received an email from Vapor Range. Since they are closing out the Kayfuns they are just sending me a replacement. I can use the non-working one for parts or may play with it some more to see if I can get it working.:lol::lol:
Nice to hear!! Hope this one works great for you!

Had two dental implants today. Lower left molars. Went great. Feeling better now but need a vape badly. Of course directions say no smoking, sucking on straws, etc for fear of dry sockets at the implant sites. Can any of my older vapors talk me off the ledge?

I was a hard core smoker, or at the worst, an honest smoker. After being at the dentist and having a tooth ripped out of jaw, I couldn’t just quit smoking for a couple of days, I lit up immediately after leaving the dentist’s office. I tried to take “soft” draws but I smoked like a chimney just from the trauma. Never had a dry socket or other problems.

Dave’s answer is excellent. Also, I’ve read people on ECF saying that when they fly, they put a few drops of liquid on their hand and lick it off to relieve the cravings. I’ve never tried it but it makes sense.

Good on you for getting the implants, someday I’ll be able to afford them too. Crying shame dental insurance doesn’t help pay for them. .......s.

Just so y'all know. Mom was in the Navy during WWII when you manly men were in diapers, if even born yet. Damned proud of her. :D

for what it's worth, I've had a lot of teeth pulled, and was smoking before I could even feel my lips, just did it gently, same with vaping with no issues. Just be careful.

I vaped in the car on the way home when they pulled my uppers. Other recommended but turned out OK. I just slipstreamed air for a really airy draw. If they've stopped bleeding go for it. Not really talking you back from the edge but, just my experience.

I lost the tooth in 2012. It was bridged to the 3rd lower left so when they pulled it, the bridge was useless and the fake tooth along with it.

The price per implant is outrageous. It's basically 5 grand per tooth...done properly. I opted for trabecular implants which are suppose to heal in 30 plus days and be ready for the crowns.

I had a good year this year and have been saving up for the procedure. I think my insurance will cover a portion of the cost.

Anyway, can you imagine all the vape gear I could have scored with those funds[emoji12]

So probably pummeled down 3mls of juice...maybe 5 mls....ever so gently from a wide open Mephisto and wide bore drip tip. Thanks for the advice.
