You prolly won't like it but it is simple. Too weak for most people, but I likes it.
CAP Vanilla Custard V1 1.5 ML
CAP Vanilla Whipped Cream .3 ml
Stevia 5 drops
1.5 ml 100 mg nic.
50/50 PG/VG 26.7 ml

Going to try new variations soon.
Maybe a touch of eggnog?
Some other cream flavoring?
Morning,
Where are you getting your flavoring from?

This is the topper I'm using with temperature control. It's the Eleaf GS tank. It came with the Istick TC40W I won in the contest. Normally. The tanks that the manufacturer throws in these bundles aren't so good but, I really like this one. It has a 0.15 ohm NI200 cartridge in it and adjustable airflow. The vape is great and the airflow can be adjusted from very similar to a Kayfun to all the way open and airy. I'm going to order some more heads for it today. Hopefully it will stand up to use. Only real problem I see with is that it doesn't have a rebuildable deck available as far as I can tell.
That looks good. I.m not going back to buying coils, or starting rebuilding them, just too fumbly for me, & don't want the expense. I'm going to get rid of all my Nautilus, except one mini, & all the K1's, too.

I just replaced the rayon wick in my titanium coil after 6 weeks of use. I really should have replaced it 10 days ago when I cleaned it but didn't replace it. It's been gurglish since that cleaning.

I mean, what good is a wicking material if it only lasts a little more than 4 good weeks before it needs to be replaced?

On the other hand, the titanium coil is still going strong 6 weeks in.
How about that. I just replaced my cotton wick with Silica in my KFV4 for the exact same reason. Every 3 days, it stopped wicking well and when I went to check it was because the cotton had burned through. Too much hassle to replace the cotton on a coil that will probably last a few months.

If the cotton's burned through, likely you got it a bit too tight. Remember that it does swell a tad when wet.

I just realized I've never tested the logic that cotton fibers swell when wet or that rayon shrinks. I suspect both are BS. I'll put some under the microscope and take pictures. Brb

I'm so grateful for that!

At 0.002mm resolution I'm not seeing a measurable change in either material. Tomorrow I'll put these under a more powerful microscope.
Are you looking at individual fibers or are you looking at bundles of fibers that are somewhere between 1 and 4 mm in diameter? (Edit: didn't see your pictures before I posted, but I'm still interested in the overall diameter of the bundles you're looking at.)

I'm more than willing to accept a different explanation, but all the evidence I've ever seen and experienced points to a basic truth: rayon wicks need to be installed tighter in the coil than cotton wicks.

errr, ummm, ahhh, ... if you're not buying coils and building coils ... what the heck are you vaping?

So how does that moss wick?

I'm not buying Nautilus coils or any other brands & not going to get into rebuilding those little buggers either. I'm going to stay with my Kayfuns.

First I want to see if some physical change happens when the individual fibers are wet vs dry (over atmospheric absorption) ; twisting, swelling, etc.

I dont see any deformation in either wet sample.

The swelling over atmospheric according to research should be ~8% for both materials.

I suspect it is the fiber allignment that allows rayon to wick well at higher density.

Less entanglement would also explain why it settles a bit while natural cellulose locks up some liquid within its bundle structure.

All of that sounds logical. Rayon will wash clean, too, whereas cotton seems to get discoloration embedded somehow. I also think that "less entanglement" is why cotton pads, with aligned fibers, seem to work better than, let's say, cotton pulled off of cotton swabs.
