I just checked my Vixen Vapor order (They're in Texas). I paid $4.50 shipping and $2.43 sales tax. That's all.
The law went into effect in October. In one part it says within the state. In the definition of distributor it says from inside or outside of the state. So no idea. I'm not ordering, but if I were I would question it. The charge was said to be 6.00 charge for the id checking thingy, so what is the 5.00 for? I haven't paid anything extra.

Must be. I did the same thing & showed it shipped to Colorado & it didn't charge handleing. But I also tried it shipping to one of the same zipcodes as one of their locations & it increased shipping from 4.99 to 5.39. Huh?

Well, they say things are bigger in Texas...

Yes it should. Anywhere and everywhere.

I've been PMing Legs about the Wismec reuleaux dna 200 that I got 2 hours ago; might as well go public!

I'm enjoying the heck out of it. It hits my inner geek! I imagine it might frustrate a lot of people, though, because things don't work the way they're sposta until you upload the particulars to the device. On the plus side, it was much easier to start programming my Reuleaux than it was to program my quad copters, and the software hasn't yet thrown anything at me that I couldn't figure out.

Currently very much enjoying using my SS 304 coil in TC mode, with the proper parameters for the particular coil uploaded into the Reuleaux.

The Reuleaux CAN be used without connecting to Escribe and to Steam Engine, but then it only works the way my other devices have worked with the same coil: at a false temperature setting.

But, with the proper resistance change coefficient uploaded to the device, I'm using 450 degrees F and 20 watts, and getting a really nice vape.

In power mode there would be no need to do any programming, by the way.

I'm guessing that the Wismec Reuleaux RA 200 that should be here tomorrow, and which was $56 instead of the approximately $130 that I paid for the Wismec Reuleaux dna 200, will be just as good, perhaps even a little better if it has wire profiles already installed.

Nevertheless, the mad scientist in me is thrilled and I have no regrets.

Yes, I know there are those who will think "what's the point?". As I've said many times, the concept of temperature control appeals to me completely and I'm willing to deal with it being a little more complicated. The software does function really well and hasn't yet shown any glitchiness. Idiosyncracies, yes, but glitchiness, no.

Comparing to building a single coil and wick, which isn't all that hard any more, dealing with the computer connectivity and software is easier, but your mileage may vary, or rather, I know some of you prefer to leave the car in the garage and exercise your legs instead.

Nice to hear it's met or exceeded your expectations. And thanks for the write up ... even though I'm not a TC vaper ... I try to stay up on it and like hearing what folks think of it and how they work.

talked to Taryn at vapor world...she said the $5.00 fee for Texas started in oct because of the signature law here..
I wonder what all is covered by the law. Atomizers are for vaping. But, what about batteries and cotton?

Well, I'll tend to avoid any vendor that adds a 'handling' fee to my cost (as long as it's just a few). If it's the law, eventually all the vendors will fall in line, I assume. If it STAYS the law, that is.

Congrats, Robert! It looks like your luck has turned. Very happy for you.

Me too. He and Legs are blazing the trail for me to follow. Once it's perfected and if the FDA allows.

not sure. batts and cotton by themselves won't be covered under the law I'm sure, but if a vendor sells much more than that, that is vaping only items, the vendor may just decide to apply the law to everything to make it easier. But getting KGD from nordstroms of course, won't be covered, or probably batts from Illum.com etc.

that was a wonderful graphic tutu!
