Thanks Lannie, I'll have to experiment! The one thing I've made so far with the watermelon I didn't like, but it was a recipe that had a lot of flavors in it. I'll need to try my watermelon by itself first I think to get an idea of it.

There are a lot of different watermelons... one might taste more like fresh and one might taste more like candy. If I had to guess, I'd say the pre-made juice used a candy watermelon flavor, or at least a lot of sweetener, because it was very sweet. The tartness of the green apple just set it off perfectly. I can't even claim credit for thinking up that combination, though, I got the idea from another ECFer and tried it, and decided it was my new favorite flavor (for that day! LOL!).

Welcome Lannie. We been getting a few extra members of our little group lately - that is great - Welcome to all of them... :thumb:

I do have to add though - I am not sure about two ladies wielding that frying pan though - Deb has used it enough and it kind of contours to my head now...

Maybe I should get a different frying pan to use on Rich, then, huh? ;)

I've had my eye on this thread since shortly after I first joined ECF, but I'd been busy nosing around other places and then kind of got comfy in a couple of other threads. But a LOT of people on ECF are so much younger than I am, sometimes I don't even understand what they're saying. Not only their spelling sucks, but the words and phrases... it's like their English has morphed into something else, and I don't get it. Rich has been having the same problem, and yesterday we were talking about it and I suggested maybe we should check out the Old Farts thread. I thought it might be easier for us to understand what people were saying, if we were ALL "old folks," you know? So far, so good! I've understood what everyone has said the last few pages of this thread (yes, even Gary!), flying frying pans and all!

I like it here. Thanks for letting us share your porch. As far as vaping goes, we're noobs, but we learn fast! :D

Not sure I agree with the "noob" part, honey... give yourself a little bit more credit. We've been sucking our binkies for six months and have progressed from beginners with EVODs to iStciks and Disrupters with Protank/Protank-IIs and now you have all this iSub and Aromamizer stuff and I am figuring out the intricacies of Nautilus and Triton tanks on the SXmini mod and... Well, I just can't put the title "Newby" on people who use all these fancy shinies and haven't had anything blow up in their faces. Yet, I will be the first to admit we are NOT "experts" at this. I suspect we will be learning forever...

Ok, I messed up. I know it comes as a shock to us all, but it's true.
When I ordered my DIY Kit from RTS, I also got (what I thought was additional flavors, never learned to read:facepalm:) a Carolina Premium E-Juice sampler. So, my bad but it has turned out good. Of the three I've tried all have been very good. But, the really good part of this is that the samples are all 3mg nic and this is my 3rd day vaping the samples (normally do 6mg nic) with no side effects. So my having messed up has been a Plus.
OBTW saw one of the banner ads earlier that offered a free sampler but now I can't find it. The code was included in the banner.

Sounds like the best way to mess up... :D We all have some where, but I doubt we were all that lucky when we did it...

You are definitely not Noobs - your progress is substantial - far surpasses mine - I am more the simplistic type - if it keeps me off of the smokes - then I am a happy camper... Don't have to be shiny, don't have to provide huge clouds of vapor, don't have to provide nuttin, but what it takes me from going back and going back ain't gonna happen... :D

The Watermelon from flavorconcentrates.com is a real watermelon. And their blueberry is divine.

Not yet... still 10,000 things on my list to investigate/research. Specific recommendations?
www.reosmods.com

A reo is basically a dripping atty on top with a 6 ML bottle for juice below. You squeeze the bottle through the door to send eliquid up the tube into the atty. Then vape. It is a nearly indestructible mechanical mod and easy to fix yourself if it messes up. I call my 2 my vapocalypse insurance and my all day vape. :)

With the FDA breathing down all our necks having something sustainable in the collection is not a bad deal. Also it has the versatility to be both a tootle puffer gadget or blow some decent clouds depending on how you set it up.

Thanks hun!!! Wheeeeeeeeeee just a tad over .03 a ml. I did dl that calculator a long time ago......read the thingy that came with it, tried adding some stuff, then my eyes crossed, and my brain frizzled and I went back to ejuicemeup!! lol

You read the instructions? No wonder your eyes crossed. I suppose I should do that one of these days LOL. He's made lots of updates and it's even easier to use than it was. One dangerous part is the shopping list. I keep finding recipes and somehow they need a flavor I don't have yet so on the list it goes. It's been a busy day so tomorrow is mix day. I need to cull my list of potential recipes to try to do down to a manageable level.

Welcome Lannie & Rich! You're in good company!

There he goes... makin' fun of my Womper cloudz again... (Who took the frying pan? I need it!) That's OK, slowly but slowly, I'm dragging him, kicking and screaming, over to the Dark Side. His clouds are about as big as mine now. ;)

You guys got another rocker I can use? This looks like a comfy place for us oldt pharts. And apparently most of you have a sense of HUMOR, which seems to be sadly lacking elsewhere! LOL! I LIKE DIS PORCH! :D

I'm with you - as long as it works... BUT. I LIKE SHINY! :p

I went through all the stages so far: "Here I am tootling on my little EVOD with a 2.5 ohm coil and that's all I'll ever need." "Oh, wait, this 1.8 ohm coil is a little better." "Oh, now what's this about a Protank?" "Ooooh, someone sent me a prezink! LOOK! It's a Disrupter with an iSub G and a .5 ohm coil - oh, I'll NEVER use that!" "Hmm... wonder what would happen if I just tootled on this .5 ohm coil at 11 watts?" (Then one day, feeling reckless...) "Hmm... wonder what would happen if I turned this puppy up to 20 watts with this .5 ohm coil?" "30 watts?" "OH, MY! THERE'S the flavor!"

And the rest is history. I have a couple of extremely generous benefactors on ECF that have sent me presents to "try out" (they're trying to influence me in a cloudly way). One sent me a Lemo 2 which a lot of people don't like, and it does have its quirks, but I've learned to anticipate its misbehavior and we get along just fine now. Another sent me an Aromamizer and a lifetime supply of coils for the iSub tanks (he's the same one that sent the Disrupter), along with TWO MORE iSub G tanks. I feel kinda spoiled. But they're trying to help me learn to build coils and not be afraid of doing it. Meanwhile, both of them put some pretty nice, heavy duty coils on both those rebuildables, so all I've had to do so far is re-wick them! ;) Shot themselves in the feets, they did! But one of these days, I'll get up the gumption to do that. I keep hearing that building and installing the coils is the EASY part, and wicking is the hard part, so if I can do good wicks, I should be all set then. Meanwhile, I'm running the Lemo 2 at 40 watts and the Aromamizer at 45, and now I guess I'm gonna have to start thinking of some kind of mod that goes over 50! Of course, probably not even a month ago I said, "I'll never need a whole 50 watts, I'll never go over 30!"

I have learned one thing here in my last six months, and that is, NEVER SAY NEVER.

My next venture (ADventure?) will be mechs, no doubt. I totally don't understand those yet, but one day, I will.

Thank you for the compliment. We both have an attitude of, "If you're going to do it, then do it all the way." That doesn't mean we ever intend to go to cloud chucker status, but we will (eventually) become complete well-rounded vapers with sufficient knowledge to lead others away from stinkies (IF they want to). After 50 years of Camels, I will never go back... but in the first month I could not have made that claim because the 618 e-pipe and EVOD-wannabe just were not convincing me that this was better than cigarettes. When I got an iStick30, however, the world turned around quickly. Baby steps... we have graduated in mods and tanks little by little until we have reached (or will reach) the ultimate in flavor/smell satisfaction. And now that Wifey is fast becoming a DIY expert (it helps that she's a really good sniff-n-dump cook, but don't tell her I told you that) ;) our total cost for vaping is significantly lower than if we had to buy the juice at a B&M (the nearest one being 105 miles one way from us) or even some of the inflated online prices. More below...

As yet, neither of us has ventured into the realm of drip atties or mech mods. We have discussed acquiring several mechs for the same reason you mention: the "what if" scenario. I know I can build/rebuild a mech mod if I have access to the parts and as long as we have a stash of batteries... well, you know that story, I'm sure. Lannie is now into rewicking (with a huge box of rayon that should last for a zillion years) and I am contemplating making some fixtures to facilitate coil building. Both of us are old enough to have arthritic hands, so this part will be a challenge, but I think we can find a way around the hard parts with better tools and fixtures.
