No, we're down in the dungeon around the corner from each other typing on separate desktops...

he, he, ... my wife and I hang out in the family room. Me on the couch and her in her favorite chair. Each w/ a laptop. Sometime we even catch ourselves texting each other instead of talking.

Oh, man, you're WARMER up there? We haven't seen a high of 32 for a while now. S'posed to get all the way up to 35 today (so sayeth the National Weather Service), but it's only 25 so far. I'm not complaining, it's better than zero. :w00t:

They fade? I wonder why? Just melding and "steeping," you mean, or really FADING? Sometimes, my flavors will "fade" if I've been vaping one for too long, which is why I have usually 4 different tanks with different flavors to flit back and forth on. When one starts tasting blah, I go to another one, then when I go back to the first one, it's tasty again. But I assume that's not what you're talking about. I hate to sound like the proverbial tech guy asking "Is it plugged in?" but... are you keeping them in the dark? (You can smack me with that fryin' pan if you want for asking such a simple question! LOL!)

Another possibility could be the flavors combining, if you're talking about multi-flavor recipes. As an example, the mixed berry cheesecake one I made the other night was really good as soon as I made it, but the next day the cheesecake had come forward a bit more and blurred the brightness of the berries, so I did end up adding another 2% of the berry flavoring (so it was 10% cheesecake and 7% berry), and after another day, I think it could actually go 10% each. It's so yummy as it is, but it could use a bit more pop in the berry department. So a little more flavor or something to make the berry taste just a tad bit sharper would work, too. Is that more like what you mean?

~Lannie

It's like as they blend & meld together they blend so much that the flavor just gets less. For example your berry cheesecake sounds like what i'm talking about. I started out finding a mix I was happy with & making a 120ml of it. It sits in a dark cupboard, & I pull between 15 & 30 ml at a time to keep at my desk. The berries faded for me. Now I have a hard time vaping fruits, & cinnamon in anything just screams at me, but I found a blueberry cream I liked. 3 different blueberries, & a touch of bilberry are the primaries. The fruit faded after about days. It's stiil there, & vapeable, but not like it was. I even added lemon juce to stablize the frut. I guess I need to play with it some more.

Well, steeping can improve flavor, obviously. However if the flavor is great from the get go, steeping can ruin it. It's just flavors mixing together and stabilizing. Lot of other factors too. Try adjusting the power up... or down?

Akchooley... We ain't "up there". :) Further south than you. Remember, Buffalo NY is NORTH east of us.

YerRIGHT! I just see "Canada" and assume Alberta! LOL! There are places in Alaska that are routinely warmer than us. It's the water. ;)

Grate! More stupid rulez! :(

I swear, I haven't laughed so much in the last MONTH as I have the last 24 hours!:lol::lol: Thank you!

Maybe it's a "berry" thing, ya think? Mostly, I've been hooked on strawberry and sometimes peach, but MOSTLY strawberry, and I don't have that problem with it. I keep waiting for the day when I'm suddenly sick of strawberry, but so far that day has not come. So I'm gettin' more strawberry flavor. And more of that Harvest Berry, too, so I can play around with it some more.

One thing I've heard and not yet tried is that a small bit of "sour" added to a recipe will bring out the fruit flavors more. Give them a bit more tang, I guess. I think maybe I'll get a small bottle of that with my next flavor order and experiment with the berries. Maybe that will fix it. :) ('Course that "sour" might be nothing more than lemon juice, for all I know...)

Oh, SO TRUE! And the mod that you're using makes a difference, too. It shouldn't, right? They all deliver X number of watts, and they're basically just a power source, but dang, my berry cheesecake tastes the BEST on my silly little Kanger Kbox, in an iSub G tank, and 30 watts. If I put that same tank on a Disrupter and set it to 30 watts, it's different. Not bad, but not the same. At 20 watts on the Disrupter, it's not there at all, just a vague hint of sweetish "something," but not identifiable. And if I put it on my Evic mini, I have to put it on 27 watts. 30 watts on that one makes it taste "overcooked" and too long a hit will taste BURNED. Maybe I just have a bunch of wonky mods, but it sure has been a journey, figuring out which flavor tastes best in which tank, and at what wattage on which mod. GAAAAAAAH! If I wasn't such a flavor-chaser, I wouldn't give a rip, but I love the flavors, so I'm always trying to get the best flavor possible. Strawberry cupcake is the best in the Aromamizer, and strawberry cheescake seems to do the best in the Lemo 2. Isn't that funny? LOL! At least I know which flavor's in which tank!

Yup. Best vape ever for me is the lowly SVD. Just can't beat it. And the new SVD2... not so much. Makes no sense but it iz wut it iz.

If you vape at 7 watts and they only go down to 10 it makes a difference or if you vape at 40 and they only go up to 30. But otherwise yes. Of course I vape at 8 watts in a T3S on a mech mod that will run 100 watts depending on the coil and battery. Then just change to a STM on the mech and vape it at 14 watts since that is the way I have the coil set up in them.
Or I can put them on a variable wattage device and crank up the watts within the limits of the build in them.

Try adding a bit of apple cider or white vinegar to 'bakky/bakery/savory recipes. Or lemon juice to fruit/berry/'lite' jooses. Start off with 1 drop per 5ml and 'work' your way up 'til da flav 'pops' a lil' bit.

Anymore, I just use Real-Lemon® in all my recipes.

Now, wid da phormalities outta da way, would like to hear more 'bout dat "panty dropper" recipe (... where was vaping when I got ambushed by puberty?
looking_around.gif
)!

OK, here it is (these are all Capella flavors):

10% Sweet Strawberry
8% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
3% Cake Batter
3% Marshmallow
1% Ethyl Maltol (or whatever sweetener you want to use)

And that's it. I didn't have the Vanilla Bean Ice Cream so I used TFA's Vanilla Bean Gelato. It was OK on day one and two, better on days 3 and 4, and REALLY good after about 5 or 6 days. Then I was running low on the Sweet Strawberry, so I made another batch subbing Juicy Peach (also Capella) instead and that one was also kind of so-so right at first but after a week, I was hooked on it, too. Maybe it would be even BETTER with the CAP ice cream flavor instead of the gelato, but heck, it was good enough with the substitute, so I would guess either one would work. :D

I'm talking about taking the same tank OFF the SVD and putting on any other mod I own at exactly the same setting. The SVD just tastes better.

PERZACKLY! :)

Just my opinion but vaping strong flavors will overload your taste buds and they will appear to fade after a few days of vaping them.
Vaping lower percentage flavors is not nearly as likely to cause this.
Again just my personal observation/opinion.
Yep. I swap about 3 flavors all day, including unflavored. Have+'t had vapor's tongue In quite awhile. And now I've jinxed it.

Cool, thank you! I'll start right now and go put a few drops in my berry cheesecake and see what happens. I need to make some more already anyway, so if I can make it "pop," so much the better! ;) Since I want the fruit to pop, I'll use lemon juice. Now if I wanted my pie crust to pop, I'd use vinegar, right? That's easy enough to remember :)

Yep. They just aren't as 'much' somehow. I'll play with it. I'm still new at this diy.

Yep. :)

If/when the time comes, I have enough KFs to build in enough values. Only 3 mechs in my stash box, but a ton of toppers! :w00t:

Just have to label them when I build (being a lazy cuss, that's easier than metering them again! )
I built several of mine and put masking tape labels on them. They were starting to come off by the time I used them all. So, I just finally found a use for these little boxes:

littleboxes.jpg

It should be much easier to keep these labelled. Perfect size for an already built KFL with chimney on to protect the build.

I finally found a use for them!

Um, just a guess, but I'll bet you don't want your flavor to pop with that!:w00t:

You underestimate me. :p I have cows, and dogs and cats and a chicken in the house (Rich can tell you guys THAT long story). I've smelled worse things than rotten eggs, I'll guarantee you. But you're right, I wouldn't want to vape it! LOL!

Now, if I could quit getting distracted (SQUIRREL! :w00t: ) I'll go put some lemon drops in my berries!
