Deleted post since it doesn't need to appear on 2 Forums in 2 different threads. Apparently the decision regarding where it should be & in what context was not mine to make.
Oh thanks, one more thing to make me go
We have an Izzy & an Iffy! Can't wait till
@Flamingo Tutu sees this!
Imma change my name to Iggy!
Welcome to The Porches,
@IzzyisDizzy!!
Erm, Dizzy Iffy Izzy Iggy?
Well one big problem I see is there are too many people here now. We don't need to import them when we have all these single moms with 8 kids by different fathers. Sure it is terrible what they are going through but we can't support the people we have now. And sure maybe out of 100 95 are good people but how about the other 5. It's not the same world as it was in the days of the potato famine, or the nazis. We need to start protecting ourselves. We have enough lunatics here already. I mean I feel sorry for those people and I'm glad I am not one but we can't save the world. We just don't have the resources to do it. Look at the people in Africa. I don't see an answer to the problems we have let alone the problems they have. It is a screwed up world we live in today.
Glad you explained yourself a bit more and have compassion for those people. I share many of the same concerns you do. However, and not to dismiss your opinion at all, this country has proudly stood for being a refuge for those in need, whether we (primarily our government) have honorably stood up to that belief or not in the past. My grandfather used to say the United States was the greatest country on earth, but it's not perfect.
I guess Legs' original comment was a an inadvertent crosspost from the BP. I rarely see the BP. I should have caught it from Gary's but, but noooooooooo, didn't get the hint. I haven't seen the discussion on the BP.
Hey they have room in Texas.
They do!
No we don't!
So been there and seen dat. Hundreds of miles of no people, sagebrush, little bunnies and cows. And the only radio they can get is is a preacher on steroids and an over the top shock jock. That'll teach 'em.

I'm kidding, I wouldn't want to be in any refugee's shoes. It's something almost all of us can't comprehend. Losing everything, including family members, atrocities you've seen, traffickers, dangerous journey, uncertainty, new country, new language, hostile neighbors, trying to figure how to make a living. That's just the short list.
OMG, Iffy sighting, Iffy sighting!
Oh yay, FT is up and shipping again!
Was going to welcome IzzyisDizzy but has been "moved on" already. Jeez
