And in other news, I shot this little thing off today on my 3D printer.
Building coils requires very nimble hands, or 4 of them.
Hope with this 3D printed build deck, I will only need 3 hands.
I ran out of the filament at 96%, so had to feed in a new one... Doesn't look too bad. Used super glue to glue in a tank display puck, and I now have a nice wide base to work from and even some depressions to keep round bits from rolling away.

And I just heard it finish cooling down. It makes a cracking sound when it unsticks from the glass plate. Now I can test it out!
Way cool! Does it have enough weight to not slip around while you use it?

Well, I mean, you wouldn't want to give them a gift if you weren't sure it worked would you? I can only think of one way to make sure they're working properly......

I got the gun metal. Very pretty.
I am pretty happy with mine too. I busted out my old Kayfun for it and vaping the evening away :)

Trying to get an Amaretto Pipe duplicate and a Butter Rum one.
ohhhhhhh I bet my nephew would like the butter rum when you get it down!

I am so worried about my GSon in Law who is getting deployed in June and has a really dangerous job. He wants to do it because he wants to put the last 3 and 1/2 years of training to work but I am really scared for him.
((((((Legs and granddaughter))))))))) I know what that is hun, and all I can say is y'all gotta put him in God's hands. Aint easy at all though. Prayers for y'all. My son was there for year, but at least bein there so long he did get to come home part way through for about 1.5 weeks.

I've only been vaping and off cigarettes about a month, and I figure I'll want to get into DIY juices sooner or later. So far, I find all the variety of ingredients and variety of ways to buy them confusing, especially nicotine. So many different strengths, and some seems to come mixed with VG. I also can't figure out how you folks settle on flavors since there are so many brands etc. Anyway, my main goal now is to stay off cigarettes. I've ordered some juices online, and my local vape shop mixes some terrific concoctions, some of which I invent myself.
Welcome!!! And HUGE congrats to you!!! You'll be hitting that year mark before ya know it!

Our resident chemist says (and I trust him) you should get your nic in all PG, no matter what your end pg/vg ratio will be. He says that it blends together better and lasts longer for long term freezer storage. Most all of us use 100mg nic. It's the most cost effective, and you don't need a hazmat suit to use it. As to flavors, I like to use concentrated flavors, so your end juice is 10% or less flavoring, instead of maybe 30% flavoring like you might end up with something like TFA. I like capella drops, flavour art and some inawera flavorings. I've heard vaping zone is really good too, but they're much more expensive. So I would say one of the first 3 at least until you find out which flavors you really like. pg and vg are really cheap at essential depot. I do mine with a bare minimum of equipment. I mix my base with a pyrex measuring cup, nic, pg, vg in a big jar. Pull up whatever amt I want to flavor, and flavor it. I make 500 mls of base at a time. When your wallet recovers from Kenna and you're ready you'll have lots of help. It really is simple. I read the DIY threads and they scared me off of DIY for a long time. Wish I'd known years ago how simple it is.

Listen, I have been vaping for 3 years now. I started off with Blu cigalikes, then a top feed atomizer on a pen, then just hit the little leagues with a Kanger STM on an eleaf 30w, and now just hit the big leauges with 3 RDA's, and a Koopor Plus.

Flavors: Brands I stick with: INW: Inerwa (sp?), FW: Flavor West, CAP: Capella, and TFA: the flavor apprentice. All good for beginners. Once you get heavy into testing you will notice subtle differences.

VG/PG: Essentials Depot all the way. Nothing else compares. So pure. I tried Nicotine river and was disappointed.

Nicotine: Nicotine River is the best Nicotine I have found. Clean and wonderful. 60mg is easy to work with and they have gloves too by the bulk.

Flavors: Bull City Vapors, has the best price on 10 mils I can find. Great for putting around and nailing down flavors.

As for picking flavors, look at what you are vaping now and try to mimic that. You might be surprised what you can create.

Good luck. Start small and work your way up. Honestly get your mods working for you first then go DIY. DIY will make your head spin.

INW has some very great tobacco flavors. Have you tried any of the Nude Nicotine extractions? Ive just started with them and so far they are very good.

Nope make my own. I am working on getting some coffee extracts and some tobacco nets in the works after Easter.

I use 60 mg VG NIC. Why? The reason is that most flavors I use are PG so I want an 80/20 mix so the 20 is taken care of with flavoring. The rest is VG. Still wonderful flavors in my liquids. VG has its disadvantages as well. Very thick to work with. I use a 1 ml syringe to extract my VG NIC. Also easier to keep in the freezer and then unfreeze then freeze and work with again.

@Kaezziel, you just might be able to figure out how to make the ceramic coil work! There's a thing called a Billet Bridge, by Atmystique. It works with Nauti BVC's. If you're bored at work tomorrow, wander over to YouTube and watch the (short) video. Fully assembled, with coil, it's dimensions - length and circumference - are the same as a standard carto. If you can figure it out, that would be awesome!

Yep, I saw the Billet Bridge and that is what made me think the cCells could work. I'll look into it a bit more and see what I can come up with. It might be a "one off" part, but if it works out I'd definitely send it to ya! I imagine a BB with a cCell would make for one very awesome vaping device! :)

Any custards? (Hint, hint!)

Your sig makes me giggle :)

I had to redo my custard this weekend. I'd only been making small batches and vaping it all within a few days. Well, the last batch I made was 60mL and lasted most of a week. That week's worth of steep time changed the flavor dramatically. It became very, very sweet. :( I cut the sweetener in half and added a bit of Vanilla Bourbon, then I put it in the cabinet and will let it set for a week before I even try it. I'll probably go through a tank and let the rest set for another week. If it's still good at that point, I'll let you know. ;)

You make your own flavorings? You posted your recipe's using INW flavorings unless I read that wrong. How do you make your own tobacco flavors?

Basically taking tobacco leaves, soaking in PG, and let them sit for a long time.

Yeah, I know... that's what has my mind completely blown! You've come up with more recipes in 2 1/2 months than I've even attempted in over a year. I need to get offa my .... and start coming up with some new juices! :) You're makin' me feel lazy, Brother!
