I looked at provari, seeing it mentioned so often. Pricey! Worth it?
Yep ... it does sort of make sense ... at least to me. I used to spend quite a bit of time fiddling and trying this and that. Now-a-days I try to keep it as simple as possible. Same tanks and builds for both Janet and me. Re-wick every couple weeks ... recoil every few months. If I found a non-rebuildable that satisfied me I'd likely be buying replacement heads and even stop rebuilding.

That's the whole goal for me. Find the least fiddly, best preforming consumable machines, and I don't mind buying juice pre made or atomizers.
I do wonder if you're all tasting something a whole lot better, because of the diy. But, the search for best flavours will continue, and possibly never end.

Their older models are a good buy. And sometimes they have blems of the older model for about $30USD - now that's a buy.

They Provari's are rock solid with excellent customer support. Although ... if you did have to return one, that's costly for you. My wife and I have a number of the V2.5s (the older model) and they are working as well now as when they were brand new.

If you're not a high wattage or temp control 'vaper', the Provari is one of the best PVs out there.

I will echo what Mike said. I own 3 provaris.. 1 of vs 2.0, 1 of vs 2.5 and one of vs 3. Rock solid dependable and one of the safest mods out there. Fantastic people at the company for supporting what they make. THe only other company I have dealt with that is equal to them in service is REOsmods but those are not the sort of thing you are after.

And they wonder why clones are popular. duh!
Yah that clone is about 90% less!

I have come to appreciate authentic gear in the last year maybe. There are a few items that will be out of reach and I will use a clone if necessary till I can afford the authentic, providing its good enough to warrant the money. They have their place no doubt as we all know.

Australian vendors price start on provari is 180$au up to almost 300. Convert that to us, whew. Must be like Levi jeans, can't buy them here for less than 100. So I stock up when I make trips back. Frankly, not too sure if I'm doing that trip again. It's a terribly long trip. I'll give a squiz at us vendors.

A few Nautilus hints & tips, not usually covered in reviews. Hope this helps present and future Naughty users...

Nautilus_zpsmpc6bjd6.png

Prime the coil with a couple/several joose drops inside to saturate the wick. I also dab the four coil intake ports to accelerate saturation. Wait a couple of minutes prior to vaping.

Note, the coil is secured within the base. And then the tank/hardware is screwed onto the coil top.

Install the coil into the base finger tight (not snug, see next). Mount the tank/hardware snug (not tight) on the base. This will prevent the coil from being removed with the tank when refilling tank. The base 'flex gasket' is to prevent leakage. No need to torque the tank down hard. As long as there is no leakage/spillage, you're good to go.

Ensure thread alignment for both the coil-in-base and tank-on-coil to prevent 'cross threading'!

Ensure the threaded glass tank top is secure within the tank cap. I've yet to find a need to remove the tank from the cap; ergo no tank in diagram.

Any time the tank needs to be removed from the base (tank refill, coil replacement, cleansing), invert assembly prior to disassembly. Be sure grasp the knurled base ring while turning the tank, not cap, CCW.

Cleaning (as indicated in diagram), I use Q-Tips; others have used pipe cleaners or paper towels/napkins. IMHO, not as effective.

This all may sound complicated/convoluted. But once you have the unit in your hands, hopefully my 'mud' will become your enjoyable/reliable vape.

Please, if anyone has questions or additional tips, don't hesitate to ask or contribute!
They also make what they call a Hollowed Out Replacement Tank. It's a glass lined cage tank that replaces both the glass & top sections. I use those so I don't have to worry about breaking the glass. It attaches to the coil & base in 1 peice like the glass tank & top do in 2 peices. then the drip tip gits in the top. They've been cloned. On the clone the glass & cage parts are separate, on authentic Aspire versions they are fused together. Makes filling so much faster & easier. They have them for the full sized & mini Nautilus. I've dropped mine in the sink several times & they didn't even crack or chip. The glass alone would have been history.

You have to go through the process of narrowing down your flavor profile. Your tastebuds will continue to change as they recover from smoking. As of this coming Sunday I've been vaping 19 months & just had another change about 3 months ago. I'd been stuck on boubon custards & creamy coffees since I'd started. I wanted to vape fruits & tobaccos too, but nothing tasted good. Then someone sent me a bottle of a strawberry & a banana that they diy & sell & boom!, there was my fruits! I also got a free sample of a pipe tobacco when I placed a routine order at Giant Vapes. I love that site, it's like a juice brands warehouse. They carry hundreds of brands of juice. I really like that pipe tobacco juice, but I have to use it outside because that one bothers my mother. I think any of the tobacco flavors would annoy her, tho. You should look at the Giant Vapes site, @Vape? Most brands have a 10 or 15 ml size of their juices so you can use the smaller amount & not get stuck with 30ml bottles of something you don't like. You can do a search for menthol or other specific flavor & it will bring them up for you.

Just go to Provari.com and look at the Specials. Those are blemished modsn but i"ve never seen anyone tha6t could find a blemish on one. They are phasing out the 2.1 version & selling them for 39.90 I think it is. I bought 2 for Christmas gifts for family members. I did get the option to upgrade the top to the newer (wider) style so the 22mm attys would sit flush on them. It was worth adding 20.00 to the price to do it.

that sounds like a very good idea. Don't know if full size or mini, though. It will be my first experience without sub ohm coils, don't know how big a transition to expect really.

I don't like the 18350 batts, they don't last very long in a atty before you have to change them. Back when 1.8-2.5ohm was the norm they were OK but now using lower ohm coils those 350's power down mighty fast. My provari is 3 years old now and still goes to work with me every day and hasn't slipped a beat. I'd buy a full size provari since they use the larger batteries that will be more versatile in other PV's.

Yeah I'd recommend the provari as well. I find them annoying when you want to adjust voltage but they are definitely a solid piece. The closeouts are a steal but you need to get an extension if you want to use bigger batts. And of course you'll need batts and a charger.

One thing I will say about the P3. It will subohm SOME. Running a .7 ohm coil on my at 14.3 watts I can kill a good samsung battery in about 2 hours. It seems like the shutoff for low battery on the P3 is set differently from the P2 and P2.5.

Edit: That is the 18650 25R Samsungs

Just got my backup wintergreen. Nothing was tasting right there for a while. It's an odd phenomenon, because cigarettes didn't really taste good, more of a drug craving relief. But with vaping, all of a sudden taste is important? Will look at giant vapes and c if they ship overseas.

As you are off the Cigs longer your tastebuds will start to come back and change. What tasted ok or good to you before suddenly might be yucky and what was yucky before might suddenly be the great. Also you might have periods where you are not tasting anything at all (vapers tongue). It is a normal progression really.

I like to tell new vapers to keep the juices they bought that were marginal/slightly yucky and just tuck them in a cool dark place. It might be that in a few weeks months they will taste good thanks to the changes.

I h ave a few put away to see if they get better with time? First impression of Most fruit flavours I've tried Is usually artificial. Be lovely to find a watermelon or one that really tasted like fruit. No high expectations here, ha. The wintergreen is reliable. What's your general taste run to? And do you have companies you like better for pre Made?

These days I mostly make my own. I don't think I have actually bought juice since last summer

The few premades I occasionally splurge on are Mt Baker Vapor

Jungle juice is sort of a mentholated fruit punch
Hawk sauce is similar to Jungle juice but to my taste is a bit more berry
Apple Rings tastes like the sour apple rings candies we can get in the US

Every once in a blue moon I wil splurge on NJoys Pomegranate BUT the nic is high on that for sub ohming so I have to break out the old ego batteries and CE5s or it will knock me on my .....
