Huh, los several quotes along the way. How 'bout we call it the Otter Club and use Gary as the mascot?
I guess I slept on it long enough. Woke up this morning and caved :D
2 black subox mini kits are on their way to me
PA - home of the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall - now has the most draconian vaping laws in the nation maybe the world.

This was just posted on ECF in the thread talking about the new PA law.
I saw that, didn't put me in a real good mood. Look at what happened to this guy. On stockpiling after FDA deeming regulations
I wonder if they will ever pull these laws if it comes to light just how great vaping is? o_O
Think they are making the laws because they know how great vaping is and it's killing them in tobacco taxes.

Hmm, which should I buy? Today while I was out picking up shiny stuff, I went to a local shop that advertises a huge stock. I was looking for notch coils for my WISMEC Theorem. When the clerk ask me what I was looking for he told me they had two different notch coils. They had Tobeco and Theorem. I ask what the difference was and he said there wasn't that much of a difference. The Theorem was .25ohm and the Tobeco was .35ohm. The Theorem were I think $8.25 and the Tobeco were $3.50. I bought 2 packs of the Tobeco, the packs were 5 to a pack and they didn't come in a box. Oh, I also got a 10% discount because I showed him my retired military ID. I probably should have bought more.

Thanks. that was exactly the info I was looking for. I'll try to pick up those parts you suggested. Can they be picked up locally? I've never used FT.

I just got these tanks for fun. I've read so many threads where people were praising them. My long term plan is based on a box full of Protanks and Lemos. Didn't spend much money on that, there were a lot of sales of both. If I really like the KFL's and they are still available I might grab a few more. Can't go far wrong at $10 a shot.

There is something else I need to look into, that being coils for the KFL. Is there a thread around where I can find ideas on what coils to use?
You have a thread full of KFL aficionado's right here! My standard coil is 28g Kanthal, 2.5 id, 7-8 wraps, 1.5 ohms, compressed, cotton.

Looking at it with the new color on the front face and the battery cover puts me in mind of an old car. The owner could only afford to paint the hood and trunk. I may just leave it be and when all the black is worn off it will be ok.
Leave it! It will look awesome!

:-x:-x:-x:-x:-x aarrgghh! :-x:-x:-x:-x:-x

It just keeps getting crazier and crazier.
It's insane. Less time for possessing other stuff in a state where it's illegal (not to mention other crimes) than innocently sending a gift to a friend. Hell, less time for raping or murdering someone. They take their taxes seriously, take no hostages.

Ten times, 10 times, we've had our property invaded recently by people doing "survey" work or dropping trees and clearing brush without our consent. It's their right, we don't have any.

Look up how many people PG&E have killed if you're curious. They don't care, they pass on their "damages" on to rate-payers and they aren't afraid to admit it. The figures are documented. What won't, and can't be, accurately documented is how many people will die because of these regulations. They will die simply because states can't live withing their budgets and want to make up the shortfall predominately on the backs of the poor.

I sincerely hope they live to see the error of their ways and suffer unimaginably for it. I really do.

Most shops around here do, and senior discounts. (No, darn it, they don't stack! ;) )

Of course, JBLM is our neighbor!

(Knew that, of course, when we bought our land 20+ years back. Often hear either Army or AF folk at practice, and occasioanlly see some people complain. But music to my ears. I WANT them to be skilled at what they do for us!!)

7 wraps of 30 on 2 mm, 1.5 Ω ;), open coil, rayon! I prefer the slightly faster heat up / cool down action of the 30, but it IS a little less robust to physical abuse - i.e. wicking!

My son was there for pre-deployment training, but it was just Ft Lewis then. Jup same here with Ft Hood. Rattles the windows, sounds like they're blowin up the front yard sometimes, but like you, I don't mind! Am glad they have the training.

Yep, and McChord AFB.

In addition to wanting our defenders to have the best possible training, I've never understood the complaint issue. The bases have been there a LONG time. If you choose to buy property within earshot, you should expect to hear them....

Like buying a house at the end of an existing runway and griping about the jets...

We ran into that a lot when I was stationed in Virginia. NAS Oceana is right there in Virginia Beach (Norfolk area) the townspeople constantly complained about the jet noise... and didn't particularly treat the military members very well because of it. :( I couldn't wait to get out of that place...

At several of the bases that I have been stationed at over the years - many of the properties at the end of the runway were purchased by the government. Many refused to sell and continued to complain. Most of the property gets zoned industrial and cannot be sold as residential property if the occupants ever do decide to sell...

Yep... they even tried to get petitions signed on several occasions. I think it got worse for them after Clinton closed down a lot of the military bases. One that got closed was NAS Cecil Field in Jacksonville, FL. That's where I was stationed until it got shut down. They moved all of the F/A-18s from Cecil Field to Oceana... they'd gotten used to the sound of F-14s, but the F/A-18 engines have a much different sound profile. Riled up the natives again...
