Hello folks. Thought I'd pop in and have a look, maybe book a rocker.

I gave up the old stinky sticks nearly ten weeks ago. I LOVE vaping much more than I ever enjoyed smoking. I never thought I'd say that.

Hi Ruth, and welcome to the front porch. Since the Ballerina Bird seems to off line at the moment, I'll have to mention, for her, the caution about Iffy offerering you a cushion for the rocker... But the rest of the seats on the porch don't make noises.

I've hesitated to order a K4 clone because the capacity is less than the capacity of my Nautilus.

However: I refill my Nautilus when it gets down to 2 or 2.5 ml remaining in the tank. I am convinced that there's a flavor drop-off or that a dryer hit is more likely once it gets down to that level.

However, it could be my imagination, so I'd like to know how low other Nautilus-lovers let the juice get before refilling.

Also, a question for Kayfun users: can you vape almost all of the liquid before refilling and not have any problems with performance or taste?

Can't say about the Naut, Bells, but I generally vape my KFcs to pretty near the bottom. Like Robin, I'll tilt to check when they get low. When I can't see any liquid then, it's time to refill. And one, set up with the full "M" poly tank, may actually get lower, since I can see the bottom directly.

About the only time I sense any flavor drop-off is after a few tanks and the wick is starting to crud up. For me, that's a couple tanks with some of my flavors, 3 or 4 with others.

BigBells, I don't refill my Nautilus tanks until the juice level is barely above the wicking holes on the chimney. Maybe that's 1ml? Probably I wait b/c I'm too lazy to get up!

Awaiting delivery of a shiny new Kayfun Lite Plus second batch (Who comes up with these names?!), having been told the flavor will be better. I think it holds only a couple of mls, so I'm expecting to fill twice a day. Of course, what I'll probably do is bounce back and forth between devices and tanks, just so I won't have to refill! :)

Not sure about the "second batch", but the listed capacity for the KFL+ is 4.5 ml. On a realistic fill, I think I'm getting between 3 1/2 - 4, so you might not need to refill as often as you think. The mini and the "nano" hold less. And naming.... yeah! The nano holds more than the mini...

Hello folks. Thought I'd pop in and have a look, maybe book a rocker.

I gave up the old stinky sticks nearly ten weeks ago. I LOVE vaping much more than I ever enjoyed smoking. I never thought I'd say that.

I tried every which way to stop smoking over the years. Nearly 40 and I smoked around 30+ full strength Super Kings a day. I thought I would just have to put up with that filthy habit until it killed me.

But then got talking to a guy who was vaping. Went home, ordered a Vamo v5 and within a week was FREE.

It never ceases to amaze and thrill me. My family and doctor are so pleased as well. Having lost a brother to emphasemia earlier this year, I knew I could die the same horrible fate.

Now I can sleep without wheezing. My yellow fingers and black tongue are long gone. I don't stink like a dirty ash tray. And I'm so happy, really chuffed to have found this forum and the wealth of information, friendship and support it offers.

So many thanks and look forward to chatting, getting to know more of you.

Happy vaping. :)

Welcome Redruth! Congratulations on letting go of the cigarettes! Isn't it exciting? So many people are amazed that vaping works so well and usually describe it as a feeling of freedom. You're finally in control. Those first milestones of each month are so special. It's been 3 years for hubby and I and I'm still amazed. Glad to have you stop by and hope you stick around. Lots of friendly, smart people here who are happy to share their knowledge and support. :vapor:

On your last question, I do most of the time, no problems

Wow this thread is moving fast! I thank everyone for the warm welcome, the vapeaversary congrats, and a big HI! To so many I know from other threads. Love reading the stories. What took me so long to join in?

You were just saving the best for last.

Thanks guys, I picked up a couple of R80's for stealth vaping.
I couldn't pass it up since they knocked the $60 price down to $20

Figured I'd get at least $20 worth of use out of them :p

What's an R80 - I'm only familiar w/ M80's and ya sure wouldn't want to vape one of those.

I vape my Nauts pretty low w/o issues. Don't have a KFL, but I can vape my Russians so low I can't see any juice in the tank when swishing it around to check its level.

Progress report:
I have five RTA's in my lineup. Happy to report that none of them have required new coils for several days-- or rewicking either. My Taifun GT is on its way back to me, after a repair job from Papa. My Orchid that I ordered as a replacement for the GT is still stuck in transit somewhere.

I got an airflow control for my vamo becuse the threads were degrading. After the airflow fell off twice, it is now superglued on, with tape reinforcement. Hopefully it will last.

Got some bottles for large batch DIY mixes of my favorite vapes.

I have been daydreaming on the Provari's in the classies, in case someone wants to check that out. There are seven available. Quite a range of prices.

My devices usually get so low that the taste is a bit off when I notice-- and when I do a visual, can't see any juice. Since the juices are matched for compatibility and I switch off without cleaning, I like it that way.

It was that wheezing waking me up at night that got me started on my journey to find a tobacco replacement.
I know that it's loss along with the loss of coloration in fingers and young are the happiest things you got going for you!
Feel free to jump into any conversation! It will let us know what type of wonderful person you are. :)

I'm a nice even person... Usually. But the government and pharma efforts to ban completely along with the big tobacco efforts to take over and oust smaller business still makes me very angry within seconds of hearing about them.

I use mech mods, so they start at 4.2V @ 0.3Ohms, which is 14A. 4.2V * 14A is 58.8W. As the batteries drain, they get down to 3.7V or so, which would be 12.3A, and 45.6W. The only reason I can use that much wattage is because there's a lot of airflow over the coils, and I run big 3mm diameter coils with 4 wraps of 4 strands of twisted 30gauge kanthal, and I space my coils so that the heat is spread more evenly over the wicks. Lots of juice flow in the Big Buddhas, and lots of airflow.

I could only really get down to around 0.9Ohms on my Kayfun, even after I drilled it out and deepened the juice channels.

Currently at dual build 1Ω I'm finding 30-35 watts is vapeable but strong. They have 8 wraps and Im wondering if the coils are quickly vaping the cotton they are directly in contact with and then it gets harsh and it takes time for the liquid to get into the part of the cotton that was just vaporised by the coils.

On another one single at 1.5Ω and 14 watts I can keep on vaping and it doesn't get stronger like the cotton is getting dry it keeps going.

So your 45-58 watts at 4 wraps has me thinking - Is that just the way it goes when using higher wattage , are you with that set-up able to vape many times or do you need a break to let the liquid in the wick get into where the coils have vaporised it ?

I used to let my nautilus get real low on juice.
Bellow the 1 ml line nearly to the bottom.

For my ehpro KFL+ i virtually vape it till the end , keep looking from time to time - tilting it to see there is liquidn-When it starts to get stronger like less liquid is in the wick then i refill.

Welcome RedRuth and congrats on kicking the stinkies to the curb. Pull up a rocker and make yourself at home. Also welcome to all the other new folks. Two days of traveling and I hardly recognize the place! :)

I vape mine down to about 1/8" left in the tank. I really haven't noticed much difference in taste however. I have noticed that it feeds better when it gets to a little lower level of juice. Might have something to do with the vacuum level with that bigger bubble of air.

Yepper, I'm still amazed how I quit 'bakky with none of withdrawal symptoms of da past!

Actually quitting this time was one of the easiest things I have ever done. I just wish we could make the powers that be understand how good vaping is as a smoking cessation tool.

At least not from the cushions. Not saying they don't still make noises, least mine does occasionally. :D

Welcome, Redruth. Noticed you were around. Now we will have more opportunities to debate Brit vs American English-- which one is true English? :-x:lol:

I thought American english was started by British english and the British english came to them from elsewhere .
