Sloth, I took your life expectancy formula and did my total. Came out to over half a year, if I did it right blew my mind.

At what temp does the coil pop? Suppose it all depends on what the coil's been through.

9 minutes per cigarette really adds up quickly!

Kanthal melts at 2190F. So if it gets to lemon yellow, you're pushing it :) Usually, though, the coil will develop a hot spot first and burn out suddenly like a light bulb filament burning out. Note that stainless steel melts at 2640F and up, depending on the alloy. So, it's probably a good thing that the coil will melt before the atty does.

Yeah, I used the 9 minutes marker. Couldn't believe it. I still can't get over the number of cigarettes. Most I thought about was packs per day, made me feel less guilty.

Not planning on cranking up the heat, I just pulse them. I might get hooked on seeing how long I could fry them until they melted. :p

It'll never make it close to that. Your legs will blow out first, at least it has on just about every coil I overheat when dry burning.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

I see MFS does it again. A liter of nic for $40.

Yep, just got that email myself. I don't know if I'm going to jump this time. After all I have 2 liters in the freezer now.

Rotowoman just remember, its probably already been said but most flavors are PG based so if you use 10% flavor then you end up with 60/40 PG/VG 20% flavor 70/30 and so on. If you want to stay at 50/50 you have to use extra VG to make up for the flavor. And you also lower your nicotine because flavors have none.

With these dna40 temperature mods.
Now what if you know or would you guess the temperature is at vaping, without one of these mods.
I gather it depends on a few things mainly the wattage your using.
I see many people seem to be around 400-450F.
Wonder how long or if its not happening already when people will try and go for higher and higher temperatures or if thats even possible.
Don't know the operations of these devises , if they have a cut off.

Thinking about the istick and people going on about the means output compared to this rms. If Pbusardo didn't mention it would most people even know ?
Read something about the temperature mods not firing if the wick is dry. Is setting a temperature just something that most people previously would not have thought about or known what temperature they were vaping at.

I thought light cigarettes were better for you until I got here. Shows what I knew.

You want your juice to boil without burning. So, the ideal temperature is probably just over the boiling point of your juice. PG boils at 372F and VG boils at 554F. Water boils at 212F and pure alcohol boils at 173F. A mix of PG and VG, possibly containing a little water or alcohol, will probably boil around 400-450F, so that number looks reasonable to me. The exact temperature depends on what juice you're vaping, and what's been added to it. I don't think you ever want to go above 536F, because that's the temperature at which VG converts to acrolein (bad stuff).

Things start to spontaneously burst into flames in the high 400s and up, so avoid that as well.

Wolf - listen to our Papa. He's steering you in the right direction. That Dr F guy is supposed to be doing a studying on temperature and juice vaporization too. The 'drippers' seem to be setting the temp around 400-410F as a starting point to avoid burring their wicks when/if the run dry. Cotton will burn around 409F I think. I haven't found a burn/flame point for rayon yet though.

I hope I didn't make a mistake by getting the Lemo's instead of the Kangers.

2legs - just go and buy some Kangers. You're not going to be satisfied 'till you do a 1 to 1 comparison for yourself.:D :vapor::D

I think I'm going to pursue this, in hopes that the claim is an accurate one. I don't know whether the USDA certifies tobacco, or if the organic label vis tobacco is not subject to set standards. I'll try to find out. Assuming there is a way to know how "organic" is defined, and assuming the tobacco meets the standard, it seems to me that the question will be one of standards applied to the extraction process. Does this sound right, or have I missed something? I'm afraid I can be like - well, like this :)

'Morning, all! As promised, and undoubtedly much to the chagrin of many, I'm trying to dive a bit deeper into The Vapor Girl's claim of organic, locally-sourced (i.e., US-grown) tobacco, with US-extracted nicotine. I emailed The Vapor Girl (TVG), this morning, and asked whether the tobacco is USDA-certified organic, and extracted domestically. Awaiting a response, and will post when I get one. Still hoping :) Meanwhile, I researched interviews given by the owners. Here's an excerpt from one. She is pretty consistent in all of her interviews.

SPINFUEL: Is your nicotine also American made?

Victoria: Yes, from North Carolina tobacco!

SPINFUEL: Where do you source your ingredients? Locally, online, US only?

Victoria: US only.
--------------------------

I can't find any reference to a North Carolina-based nicotine extraction operation, except as referenced by TVG. Feels a little like TVG is following the, "It depends on what your definition of 'is' is..." Again, I'm hoping - and inclined towards giving the benefit of the doubt. I did find this: USA Liquid Nicotine This is a fairly new, GA-based company. Their website doesn't say whether they will be exclusively wholesale, retail, or both. Not organic, though ...

This is more than a little irritating!

It is possible that Georgia-based USA Liquid Nicotine does their extraction using NC tobacco. You're doing a great job of sleuthing.

For the heck of it, I sent a web-form inquiry about 8 hours ago to USA Liquid Nicotine, asking them what the minimum purchase quantity is. I haven't received a response yet.

Thanks. I haven't heard yet, either. I am going to email Spinfuel and ask whether they can shed any light on this. Their interviews and reviews are usually thorough; they may have insight that they would be willing to share. Dog-with-a-bone :)
