Damn I wish I did. I turn 65 in 2 weeks. Oldie but Moldy.

What date is your B-day, Legs? I'm 65 in two weeks as well. Just had to switch to medicare from our good railroad insurance. I'm not looking forward to that, especially the prescriptions. We were only paying $5 for 90 day supply.
Edit: I should've put the above on the other porch so I'm adding that I am loving my isticks!!

Anyone wrapped around a screw to get a spaced coil ?.
I use one all the time. It makes the most perfect little coil you ever saw.
If I want, I can re-torch it and squish it together. Just depends of which tank I'm going to use it on.

Taking a guess for long term storage how much difference would there be in storing the nic in the fridge compared to freezer ?
There is condensation in the frig, that can ruin it (I've heard). It will keep just as long in a cool dark cupboard, as in the frig, and is much safer.
Frozen, it has kept it for 7 years, without any of the nicotine fading. They really don't know how long it will keep since no one has stored it in the freezer longer than that.

Welcome to our new porch friends, glad to meet cha.

2Legs ...my other Lemo's arrived .. so when I get them washed up, and get a chance to settle down, I'll start playing.
At the rate I'm going, ... maybe you'll beat me to the first test.

I'd say put any nic that you're not going to use for awhile in the freezer and put the stuff you're using now in the fridge. What you put in the freezer should be filled to the top to avoid having much air in the bottle. I've read it will keep for years in the freezer. I think some people have used nic stored in the fridge for a couple years and didn't notice much difference at all, but somebody - maybe Semi? - said he had some stored on the door of the fridge that went bad. And a bottle of cold VG warms up pretty quickly on the counter. It's always going to be thicker than PG.

...

Boy have things changed! My son said they were going to use cloth diapers for the new baby so I thought I'd pick some up. They're hard to find! And when I did find them couldn't find pins and I don't think they even make those awful rubber pants for them! It's a whole new world of cloth diapers these days with snaps and velcro and they cost a fortune!! We're going to be watching the baby 2 days a week so they got us a special hose that fits on the toilet to rinse them. Sheesh! When I did find the "old fashioned" diapers the advertisement on the package mentioned how good they were as dust cloths and burp cloths. At least they didn't get rid of that idea.

as for the NIC (to keep on target/topic) - PG and VG have both been "frozen" without NIC, and the PG stores better... I tried to find the link, but after a year, it's all about with nicotine. PG is still better for freezing.
Something about PG still getting freezer burn after 3 - 5 years.

So, I've been trying to get a response from my Teapublican US representative about his position on vaping, with no response. I finally got borderline rude on my third request, and got a voicemail this morning (after saying I prefer email to phone, but if they had to call, to do it in the afternoon) from an intern basically saying that he (Re. Cramer) knows nothing about it, and wanting me to call back and talk. I'd been carefully not letting them know my position while asking, since he is the type to answer whatever he thinks you want to hear.

So now, in addition to convincing myself to actually talk to someone (can you say extreme introvert?) I need to have some good information gathered to hand for when I call. It should be interesting.

Have mercy on us all and stay far, far away from cheesecake.

and chocolate and coffee!!!

Donkey can't even say that.

On tv it seems you can say illegitmate child easier than you can say donkey. before I had tried to post something about yiddles dog, that ends with tzu and it wouldn't let me, but you can type hell.....go figger

Randomly damaged about sums it up! Sometimes, the same juice on the same build at the same power has no taste, while at other times, it tastes Yummo! If that's not random, I don't know what is.

Maybe it is taste buds not the mods, cuz sometimes I get better flavor from the hana, sometimes better from the gripper, same tank and juice. Exact same tank, cuz I only have the one naughty

I'd rather be friends with a pile of vomit that had a wonderful, kind personality but would probably vape a lot of vanilla cupcake around it.

We've been thinking of getting one of these for a long time. Would this be a good one for moderate to low use? The FoodSaver® Starter Kit Hadn't thought of using it to store nic but seems like an excellent idea.

first part, don't wanna be friends with what you said........but yeah I totally agree with the sentiment!
2nd part, check out walmart. They had what looked to be the one you posted, for $80 and $40 for a 5 pk of rolls. But I do wanna save up for the auto one.

I do know for sure that it's easier to make a spaced coil, just make a regular contact coil and instead of trying to get all of the coils touching, spread the coil out like a spring and then press it together again.

Brilliant......I'd always thought they were harder, cuz every vid I see, they're trying to evenly wrap them, and of course no one can. This is juts brilliant! then again, brilliance is what we've come to expect from you! :)

Lucky and determined. Very determined. Mulish. Had a heart-attack scare, but thanfully it was a false-alarm. Still, it was enough to change my 'tude about quitting the cigs.

I'm still vaping elevnty-seven different flavors a day, but hey, I'm new at this.:)

Thanks goodness it was false alarm and that you paid attn to it!! Welcome to the Porch!!! hehehe I love that saying, and use it often. Ninety twelve dollars and eleventy seven cents.

as for the NIC (to keep on target/topic) - PG and VG have both been "frozen" without NIC, and the PG stores better... I tried to find the link, but after a year, it's all about with nicotine. PG is still better for freezing.
Something about PG still getting freezer burn after 3 - 5 years.

Was fixin to ask about this.....so pg stores better if nic isn't mixed in it? I was thinking about when getting supplies.........mixing the base in very lg amts....pg/vg/nic base.......then putting it in 250ml bottles once mixed, freezing that....then pulling a bottle out at a time to do flavors in and make the juice. I was thinking some said a long time ago that's how they did it, but I could be wrong, what say y'all?? also, at 24mg about how long will a liter of nic last?? I know it depends on how much I vape, but like how many mls will that make?? Is that figurable?

Oh good for you!! Let us know how that goes!!

I gotta run, nephew just sprung a movie on me. Will be back later in the night, hope y'all get a great night's sleep

I just quit the cigs 8 weeks ago and started vaping instead. I'm new to this forum and just wanted to say hello to all my fellow *vintage vapers*! Hope you have room fo rone more on the porch?

Rotowoman, I had my first cig at 14 and last at 61. If someone had told me a year ago I could do this, I never would've believed them. For me, the key was finding the right set-up and the right juice. I suspect that's true for most, so hang in there and you'll find what works for you.

Welcome Charming, always room for one more, please pull up a chair and make yourself comfortable.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

Deb, Ken should stay away from a lot of things. Maybe we can lure him into the basement and lock the door behind him. ;)

I think a lot of the words we are suddenly having trouble with have to do with the massive spamming problem on the noob forum lately. There's some really bizarre ones you can't use now and that was the explanation one poster was given. I'm not over there very often but one night I saw nearly five solid pages of spam before they could get it cleaned up.

Thank you for the Wal-Mart tip! I'll check it out. :)

Charming, welcome to the porch and congratulations on the eight weeks off the cigarettes! :party:It's both surreal and wonderful isn't it?

Vintage I like that sounds a lot better then Geriatric.

I like it a lot too.

I think it was when I was 54 that I spent the whole year thinking I was 55. After I turned "56" my mother told me to do the math. Wound up being 55 for two years. :)

yeah... being introverted myself, I find the internet a bit easier to use, but here is a good list of vaping studies to use.

Close but, PG stores in the freezer better than VG. Straight VG in the freezer gets freezer burn. After about 3 years or so.
This is when they do not have NIC in them.
Therefore, I'm personally working under the assumption that WITH nicotine you would get similar results.
It's from a study I read a couple of years ago, but when I went to look for it, eliquid totally eclipses the search, so I could not link to it. :)

EDIT:
found some information:

"Pure Glycerin freezes at 62.6 degrees Fahrenheit."
http://www.ehow.com/facts_7428465_glycerin-freeze_.html
which tells me that VG will freeze

Vegetable glycerin can be used as a substitute for ethanol — the chemical commonly called “alcohol” — in making botanical extracts, such as herbal essences. It acts as a solvent that dissolves the substances of interest from the raw plant material. The advantage of this is that people who do not want to be exposed to alcohol can still have access to the botanical products. The disadvantage is that the resulting products have a much shorter shelf life.
http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-vegetable-glycerin.htm

I know that Propylene glycol freezes at a lower temp than water because it is used to lower the freezing point of water.
In food processing systems the common heat-transfer fluid is based on propylene glycol.

Works for me......Ken, you don't mind if we lock you up do you?? lol We'll feed ya and smuggle juice in to ya. Just can't let anyone know you're interested in it. It's either that or you have to become interested in snakes, mosquitos, and all the icky stuff and totally ignore all the good stuff!

It was around a year ago that I was trying to type the tzu dog and it wouldn't let me, even though the way you spell it has an h and a space. Gonna try it now. Shih tzu we'll see if it works. Yw for the walmart tip.

My SIL did the same thing about thinking she was a year older for a year, just can't recall which year it was. Better than thinking you're a year younger then getting a nasty shock

Those of us who are of the vintage of '50 would have to think fast for an excuse if we made that mistake.

Well I had an experience yesterday that put a smile on my face and is even vaping related.

My ancient iPhone 3 finally gave up the ghost yesterday so when I got the hubby from work he said you know we have been planning to change carriers so lets just go do it they have some switching deals going now that could save us a boatload. So we went over to the store , figured out what we wanted and started the whole process. Well it ended up taking a very long time to get it all done and data transferred etc.

At one point I said to the hubby "honey I will brb. Heading outside for a vape. The clerk said "Oh you don't have to go outside for an ECig. Vape away!"

I was in total shock. I am so used to the "You can't use that in here" reaction that I actually said "Are you serious?"

Me thinks we have a new cell phone carrier. :)

Which way maximizes flavor, contact or spaced?

I don't notice a significant difference in flavor - but for me spaced coils last noticeably longer before gunking up and need cleaning.

Welcome to the porch Charming. At the time I was a 2 1/2 PPD smoker and had smoked for 45 years. I wasn't convinced that vaping would work when we started, but I really wanted it to, so stuck with it. It didn't happen overnight making the switch totally, but I'm so thankful I stuck with it as it's now been 3 years since I had a cigarette.

That's awesome!!! The last restaurant my son was a manager at you could vape in if you didn't go crazy, but I'm gonna have to work on the GM or owner of this new restaurant he's at now, cuz we went in when my friends were here so they could see him, and he said they didn't allow vaping. Grrrrrrrr

You know I learned something today. I use a trackball and it was sticking a little so I cleaned all the parts with alcohol then it was rough so I googled what can I do to make my trackball work better and came up with this. Kinda weird but it worked amazingly well. This guy said rub the side of your nose and forhead with the finger or in my case thumb that you use on the ball then use it. I couldn't believe it. Thought what the heck and did it worked perfect.
I also use a trackball (Logitech) and don't like to use conventional mice. The fact that the mouse stays put is very much to my liking and I've been using a trackball for a good decade now. The right and left click buttons wear out after a year or two but I've resigned myself to purchasing a new one (about $30) when that happens. I like the fact that the trackball pops out easily, which makes it easy to remove with my finger whatever grit and hairs have accumulated at the contact points.

On another subject, I'm thinking I might be going through BVC heads on my Nautilus faster than I usta. This post is really for the purpose of documenting when I install a new head, which I just now did. It might not be a case of me going through the heads more quickly; it might be the fact that I'm using only one clearo and head at a time for all of my vaping. We'll see how many ml of joose I'm able to put through this latest head, averaging about 6 ml per day.

Cleaning out the trac-ball contacts was always a hassle for me. I use an optical mouse, which I have had for years. My only hassle with it is that the PG/VG drips get under it, and i then have to wipe off the bottom and the desk area where i use it. Minimal hassle, compare to the alternative. Just switched to paper towels. Much better for catching kanthal scraps and wicking, just toss it.

Something about PG still getting freezer burn after 3 - 5 years.

Oh I know I can find diaper pins online, but I was in Target where they have 2 huge wall displays of all kinds of diapers and supplies - all disposable. I knew they were supposed to have cloth diapers and even had a clerk try to find them for me. They only had 3 packages of them and they were off in an obscure place. Talk to young'n these days about cloth diapers, pins and rubber pants and they just give me a blank look. I still find it hard to put a baby to sleep in the crib with no covers and absolutely nothing allowed in the crib with them. Everything is dangerous. Makes me wonder how my kids survived.

I've had nic (in PG) frozen in my freezer for 2 years and it's still fine. I buy it in liter bottles and store it in 120 ml blue bottles (with labels) and just take out 1 at a time so the rest can stay frozen. Defrosting and refreezing is probably not good. The annoying part is packing newer bottles behind the older ones to keep them rotated.
