Any goblins or orchids arrived yet ?

At first glance I thought you were talking about porch members.

From reading around the goblin should be good , I read theres a 4.5ml tank for the goblin coming out.

So if nic is designated "class III" then the patch, gum, lozenges - and BLU - will require a prescription. Does BT/BP know about this assault on their business model??

Then they have to start backpedaling in the face of their own stupidity. "Oh no. Not that nicotine, that nicotine. Just the bad nicotine."

All this doom and gloom is always in the back of my mind. When I think about whether I should buy something off the classies or something on sale, I'm really thinking about whether or not I'll ever get another chance later to get this item for vapocalypse.

I don't have a lot of money. So, if I don't buy something when I do have a few dollars to spare, I may not have even those few dollars to spare for a long time, until after it's too late.

For example, there's a Penelope V1 in the classies right now. It's more than I can really afford, but cheap for a Penelope. It's an authentic, quality item that would be very helpful if things got too expensive from excessive taxes. But, since it's a V1, I'm afraid it may be too finicky for me to handle. I don't want to risk that much money when money is so tight.

It's like each purchase becomes a gamble. Will this item be really useful? Or, will it be money wasted that will keep me from getting something else that would have worked better?

I wish I could just relax and enjoy the experimenting. Buy cartomizers and batteries, then relax and buy whatever I truly WANT when I have a little spare cash. Like those silly Kuro coilers in the pretty colors or the cute little Erlkonigen clone that FT has.

I'm getting way too stressed about this!

I completely understand, I too have to ration the funding at the moment so I think long and hard about what to buy. That's one of the reasons that I like Fasttech. You can get a lot of little things for not too much money. Those Kuro winding doodads are really cheap on Fasttech, they even have the real deal I think but, they have a cloned version as well.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

This is exactly WHY I bought the REOs and the Provari. It is also why I have about a dozen really simple drippers and 4 other lesser quality mechs. I have a lifetime supply of Nic in my freezer.

Hardware and nic are the chokepoints. Get that covered and you should be fine.

I also have been stocking heads for my protanks and CE5s. They won't last forever but they can be rebuilt which will extend them outward for years, considering I am still rebuilding the original 20 or so heads I started with when I started vaping over a year ago.

I also have the 2 divers I bought for my carto tanks. They are fiddly but they do work and will extend the use of those. I still regret not getting the sophia instead.

I first found out about all this mess about a week after I started vaping. I've been in doomsday prep mode since.

Edit: I also figured out how to convert a premade blu carto into a dripper just in case that sort of vaping manages to survive all this and I got desperate. It aint great but it does work.

All the doom and gloom is a big part of why I take vacations from EFC at times. It sets off my panic attacks. I would tell people to make a plan at this point and slowly but surely get yourself as well setup as you can manage in what time we have left. Having a plan helps a ton.

OK - find at least ONE mech mod you can use that doesn't appear to be very breakable. I've got a Hammer mod. Heavy, but vapes very well.
Stock up on nic, or know someone who can DIY nearby.
also same for recoiling... have the stuff or know someone who does and will help - just in case
Then you can relax and get just what you want, and nothing else, because you are covered.

I've got the Provari already and a little REO 2.0 (that needs to be sent in to be fixed). I would like another REO, which I intend to buy in about a month or two with my tax refund. So, the indestructible mods are almost taken care of.

I have enough nic to last probably for the rest of my life. The only issue with that is my sister has started vaping regularly. It wouldn't be a problem except that she's only doing it because she's broke. That means I'm supplying all her needs. So, my stash may have to be twice as big. Not sure on that yet.

Atomizers? Well, I have several cheap ones so far. But, I'm thinking I should probably get a few higher quality RBAs to be safe. I assume they would be more indestructible. That's why I was thinking about getting the Penelope. I do have an RM2 and love it. I definitely plan to buy a couple more bottom-feeder atties when I get my new REO.

I would also like to get a Sofia. And, if I can actually get it to work well, another one. I've heard they don't work well in some tanks (like IBTanked), that they wobble because of having to keep them partway open for wicking in a tank. So, maybe a couple of tanks made specifically for the Sofia.

If I won the lottery, I would also buy a couple thousand cartos, just in case. But, I don't plan on winning the lottery any time soon.

So, I really am well on my way to being ready. But, since I sometimes go several months at a time not being able to buy anything, I want to make sure each purchase really counts.

I'm with you Myrany. I've thought about taking a break from ECF. But, there are 2 problems with that. One, I want to be able to see what's coming instead of being caught by surprise. Two, this is my home! So, I just avoid the News and Campaigning section for the most part. If I don't, I get panic attacks. Which I'm getting more and more anyway. So, no need to add fuel to the fire.

BTW, has anyone tried the Penelope, especially the V1?

Yup, that's what I REALLY want to buy right now. A Kuro coiler and a cute little Erl clone. $20 I can afford. But, if I decide on the Penelope ($50), I'll barely be able to buy food. So, I'm waiting on the coiler and Erl until I decide on the Penelope.

My paypal account is not linked to anything. I put my "budget" in cash on a Green Dot money card then immediately transfer it all to my PP account. Yes I pay about $5 for the money pak but by immediately transfering the funds to PP I pay no further fees. No risk to my non existent bank account nor a credit card. No ssn or anything personal (except my name and address) on my PP account. I use generic Visa or Master Card gift cards for online purchases. Not a store specific one, just Visa or MC on one of the cards you cam choose how much to put on it, $20 - $500. Again a small fee to purchase but after that no fees and no personal info (except name and address) involved. Just works for me and keeps me on budget.

From reading around the goblin should be good , I read theres a 4.5ml tank for the goblin coming out.

My Goblin hopefully shipped from China to SmogLA (the guy who is running the group buy) on the 27th. He claims there's usually really quick shipping on these big buys, so we'll see. My Orchid V6 has been on the slow boat from China since January 7th (ordered December 24th), with no updates since then. It's a good thing I'm patient and only check on the shipping status about 5 times a day.

All this doom and gloom is always in the back of my mind. When I think about whether I should buy something off the classies or something on sale, I'm really thinking about whether or not I'll ever get another chance later to get this item for vapocalypse.

This is one of the reasons I just use mech mods. There's very little that can go wrong with a metal tube that has a button on one end. I don't trust circuitry, because if it goes bad, I probably can't fix it. Voltage and wattage regulation circuitry is even more worrisome because it produces heat, which will affect the longevity of the components.

Basically, when civilization collapses and we're forced to live at an agrarian level of technology, I'll be covered :) As long as I can get fresh batteries and have electricity to charge them. I can probably find a local blacksmith to repair my mech mods for me :)

That's a great link! I've bookmarked it. It's also a great example for my database students.

Well I wanted to say that the Lemo is working great. I also want to say I really don't think the Nickel coil with temperature control blows my dress up that much. I've been vaping my Provari P3 with the KF V4 with a 1.5 Kanthal build at 10w side by side with my Vapor Shark and Lemo with a .18 NI200 build at 410 degrees and 15w and I really can't see that great of a difference. I'm using the same juice in both. So that is my review. Also the NI200 is much harder to work with but the Lemo seems to be easily adapted. I can't wait to try a Kanthal build in it. I'm glad that this VS can be easily changed to work with the Kanthal. I love the way it feels when I'm using it.

I'm with 'ya' on the mech's Papa. I have 3 Provari's that don't get much use. I occasionly use one of them just because I feel guilty ignoring them. I've learned to build my wicks/coils to perform to my satisfaction w/ the mech's. Can't really imagine how much better a vape I could get w/ any of the newest latest and greatest 'stuff' (but that won't stop me from trying). As well built as the P's are, they still have components that can fail. I feel safer going into the 'unknown' future of vaping gear w/ mech mods. Really nothing to go wrong with them other than perhaps a spring wearing out or collapsing if I get a hard short and a batt frys.

I only used a DNA40 w/ a dripping atty for a couple-few weeks before sending the boards back to Evolv for replacement. Mine were from the 1st batch. One 'seemed' to be OK, but the 2nd one glitched up right away. So I just returned both of them. (Talk about good customer service. I just got the replacements today from Evolv. Less than 2 weeks turn-around from the time I mailed them back. No questions asked, not proof of purchase required.)

I wasn't overwhelmed either, with the difference between NI200 w/ TP and Kanthal setups. It was really nice though, that TP would kick-in and help me avoid 'dry/weak' hits using a dripper. But with a tank setup, that wouldn't be an issue.

I'm more interested in the DNA40 w/ standard Kanthal builds because it has buck/boost unlike the DNA30.

I hate to say this but, that's an easy choice. Food always comes first.

The only problem I see with it is 1ohm max and not sure if it has the buck boost technology.

I think that is a description error and it will work with kanthal just like a DNA40. Wasn't recommending anything just commenting on the fact that it's cloned already. Amazing!

I posted this over I the General Discussion forum, but it just disappeared for lack of interest...

I responded to a CBS article on their web-page today. It is not my first. I have log-ins for ABC and CBS. I comment on articles as need, generally vaping relatedly.

If anyone has a suggestion for other pages that I should monitor, I would appreciate a link. We need to get our message out.

Thanks!

Note: If anyone has a good link, let me know.
Will do... And you can check the news forum as well... If you are on Facebook, there are vaping news pages there as well.

That will work too.

Now...

Do I detect new visitors to the porch?

I like the idea of the mechs but I also enjoy being able to start out in the morning at 10w and later in the day go up to 11-11.5 and back down to 10 in the evening. That is quick isn't it at less than 1/4 the price.

Yup. Flavor changes with power. And as they say... sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't! :)
